My friend actually used to hear creepy, barely noticeable, voices at night. It freaked him out a bit, until he made out these the creepy voices were talking awfully casually. It was his guitar amp, it faintly picked up some radio shows.
Something like that happened to my mom a few years ago. We had this really old speaker in our living room and one night when she was alone it just started playing music. And she couldn't get it to turn off so she unplugged it and it still didn't turn off. She was pretty freaked out by it. But we figured out it was somehow resonating with a radio frequency of a tower nearby

Or later, when me & my mom finally moved out, during visitation, my dad and I would hang out on the bed watching movies at night and I'd hear my mom calling for me from downstairs or even my dad who'd be right next to me. Sometimes I'd shuffle out of the room and look down the stairwell into the dark or just double check the whole house while confused why I was hearing stuff.
