These dudes literally just "showed up" at a bar in Fort Lauderdale called O'Haras one afternoon back in the mid 90s and played for a few hours just for "kicks". I was in my 20s. I'll never forget it. In the space of an hour, the afternoon bar crowd went from 15-20 locals just having a few beers to almost 100 people going absolutely crazy trying to get in to witness what they were hearing from the street. I've seen hundreds of concerts in my life, but I'll NEVER forget that day. It amazes me that nobody seems to know who they are to this day.
I saw Willie & Lobo in Northern VA about 20 years ago myself. Their music, is captivating, and this is one of their greatest. It speaks to the spirit inside most of us.
I have been listening to them for more than 3 decades and they are always and forever as old as the stars and the mountains as fresh as a dew drop on a young blade of grass .Classic tribal pure food for the soul! They gave a concert in Carmel, CA years ago. I was on second row and I was hooked. I own all of their albums.
Saw these guys about 20 years ago at Mama Mia's in Puerto Vallarta. I still have the cassette tape from the show.
