I love this whole story. What's amazing is that this card as you all know was a special gift because Tyler wasn't going to make it. Yet here he is, alive and well, and now that card being sold will help propel him into the life he wasn't going to have. That's actually incredible! I always said “man I wish I could find my old cards” but then I found an unlimited ring of magnetism from starter deck Pegasus inside of an old work out dvd case. And it showed me two things. 1. I think if I found an old card in rough shape it would upset me so much. I’m kinda glad my old cards are nowhere to be found so I can now slowly buy and find the old cards I want and care for them the way I wish I did as a child.
My friend did the rubber band thing aswell with his old commons. He sold me a tin of old commons and rares recently for 10 bucks and maybe 10 cards in the entire box were near mint, all of the others had major edge whitening. 😂😂
I started collecting cards with the Star Wars CCG. I moved on to Japanese Pokemon, then English Pokemon and then YuGiOh OCG. Regrettably, I got rid of my 1st ed English Pokemon set for some MTG cards, and I believe I sold my OCG vol 1-7 cards on ebay, and I sold/traded my LOB/MRD/MRL cards too. When I found what was left, it was still in great condition. It still pains me to think I sold all those cards for pretty much nothing and that I ripped all those packs and boxes that are worth an insane amount now, but I was also a kid and none of us could really have known what the future would hold. The only thing I can do now is the same as you, hunt down all those nostalgic cardboard rectangles!
Tbh It really shouldn't really matter since it's a one of one, with the history surrounding it. However, he should have just gotten it authenticated for aesthetic reasons.
I'm gonna guess around 2 million minimum its a 1 of 1 in NM condition it may not be a bsg pristine 10 or black label but it will never ever get a higher grade so this is the highest possible grade for the card and the fact that its a 1 of 1 in confirmed graded NM condition already speaks volumes about how much its worth and any serious collector would undoubtedly pay top dollar for a card like this.
I think this is the rarest card in the world in terms of it being a single printing of a specific card. But I also remember there being like a black luster soldier printed and stamped on metal if I recall correctly that was rewarded to the winner of a tournament years back that is also considered a priceless card in that sense as well.
Looking back on this video, I don’t recall what the card went for but I do remember this card in 2006 when I was still like 3/5 years into the game and there had been a rumor going around about it and it’s cool to see the legend of the card be brought to light !! So glad the guy now man made it through his battle and got to hold onto the card as a memento of how hard he had to fight for his life and made it through the other side!! Such a feel good story!! Man what an incredible story, so cool how this comes to light after so many years! One thing I'm not a fan of is the fact it's getting graded. WHY!?! Why does it matter if it's a 1 of 1?
Yeah i wouldve left it in the original case, the grade is completely irrelevant. But they probably got it graded so its extra official and authentic and numbered.
Yeah, that makes sense! Tyler the Great Warrior is a card that has been faked probably thousands of times, the fact that this has been Graded and has Videoproof of the owner Actually submitting it to Beckett, is probably more like an Confirmation that it is Actually the REAL deal
If you ask me the 1999 Yu-Gi-Oh tournament in the OCG which was the first tournament ever gave out four price cards. All one of one! one of them was black Lester soldier metal card. That is probably the most valuable card
Glad he made it through cancer and held on to the card as well. Any type of cancer is terrible, that is probably far the biggest W in anyone life that has dealt with it, was definitely for me.
The card is amazing but I think that the fact it was made for him a dying kid(at the time) is truly amazing and that he’s still with us. He deserves that card and I don’t think it should be sold. His decision though.
This! No matter what ridiculous price they give that card, he's making a mistake to sell the item, it's something personal and it should not have a value based on rarity or whatever, he might regret his decision later but then again, the card could be sold after his own death and that would be even worse without any of his consent, at least that's what i think and what he might fear in the future...

A kid getting a car sounds like wishing for something he wouldn’t ever use, the card is something to leave behind, something that remains after he died. This has some serious sentimental value, but viability is what makes black lotus what it is. The 1996 World Champion card is a one of one, and 11 the magic invitational winners/world champion winners for more recently got to give input, have their likeness as a legal card that became part of the game, some are staple! The Pikachu Illustrator card sold for 5 million, there are two blastoise card wotc made for Nintendo to show they can make good cards, Tsunekazu Ishihara black star card signed also. I’m seriously shocked we never had more of these make a wish cards from any tcg. Having your card added to the set immortalizes you in households worldwide, I like that idea more.
I’m honestly just happy he’s alive and happy! I always thought he passed away! ❤ This card is gonna hit the 1 million dollar mark no question. If we weren’t in a market downturn, it would easily have fetched that 2 years ago.
I don't think the card needed to be graded just like you said, the condition of the card doesn't matter so why did it have to be graded? It was sealed in the casing pretty much as soon as it was printed. Tyler mentions in the video that no one had ever physically touched the card after it had been printed. I just think it never should have left the casing
Maybe is just me, but grading this card would stain it's legacy. Just leave it inside the case they gave it to him. It's "the original" case, a 7 on it would just give something to frawn the card on. People would only say "image if it would have been a 10". I don't know, to me it makes it less to have it graded but i could be wrong here.
Sad part is that once the card has been bought it’s just gonna sit dormant in a collection, personally I’d put it on display in like a local small store and strike a deal with the owner so more people can see it in person
Should have kept it in it’s original case I feel like that would add to the appeal of never been touched especially if the grading doesn’t matter. I saw another comment say someone offered over 3 million at one point but that was in its original case so as is I would say for sure a million maybe 2 but in its previous state I’d say he coulda got closer to 5
This car and the original blacklister soldier are the holy grails I feel like Tyler the great Warrior even more so because it was made for a specific person where his blackmuster soldier it was possible to win
Cannot believe he is actually selling it. I personally think it would have been worth more upgraded and left in the original case. However I believe that this card will go for somewhere around 100k being reasonable. There are a lot of people that want it that have a lot of money.
I don't understand grading it, like grading a 1st ed LOB Blue eyes makes sense because you can compare it to others like it, but this is the only Tyler the Great Warrior. The grade obviously shouldn't have any impact on the price.
That is the coolest 1/1. I think it is possible that it is sold for more than the alpha black lotus but probly not the signed artist proof post malone bought. I think 650,000 big ones
Anyone hating on him selling it is either jealous that they are not the one buying the card because they can’t afford it or just jealous cause it isn’t them selling the card and acquiring a life changing amount of money. I’m so happy for Tyler, get that bag.
Smart decision selling it now; after the creators passing. Probably will help shoot the value up a bit, but if someone offered 3.4m back in 2008,, with inflation it would have to go over 5m+ which i doubt it, but what does my poor self know.

Awesome story and even better info that Tyler beat the disease, praise life 🙌
Sad part is that once the card has been bought it’s just gonna sit dormant in a collection, personally I’d put it on display in like a local small store and strike a deal with the owner so more people can see it in person
It’s so awesome that this card exist and that Tyler beat his cancer!!! Can’t wait to see how much it goes for!!!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHY DO I GET TO BE THERE I HELPED FILM IT LMAOOOO
If Logan Paul gets his hands on this it would be all over media for sure
Should have kept it in it’s original case I feel like that would add to the appeal of never been touched especially if the grading doesn’t matter. I saw another comment say someone offered over 3 million at one point but that was in its original case so as is I would say for sure a million maybe 2 but in its previous state I’d say he coulda got closer to 5
This easily beats 1m...
Still don't know why even remove it from the original casing
Man that would be so cool to be able to design your own card! Under better circumstances of course. Glad he beat it. Super cool.
The 1999 First National Conference Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon 1st Place Prize Card is probably the highest value card to transact (private sale).
The Mattel cyber dragon has been found. And now Tyler is going up for auction. What other lost cards are left???
This card was released 3 days after I was born, that's crazy
I can't believe they didn't put it into a sleeve before putting it in the case after production.
750K to 1M pretty sure ! What a story man... make me cry.
That is the coolest 1/1. I think it is possible that it is sold for more than the alpha black lotus but probly not the signed artist proof post malone bought. I think 650,000 big ones
I’m thinking that this card would be worth $1,000,000 minimum honestly.
It is pretty cool. I’ll be watching the auction to see how much it goes for…
The first tournament BLS card that was printed on metal takes the holy grail. This is definitely second.
Anyone hating on him selling it is either jealous that they are not the one buying the card because they can’t afford it or just jealous cause it isn’t them selling the card and acquiring a life changing amount of money.
I’m so happy for Tyler, get that bag.
I heard of that card, but I thought it was lost with time. This is awesome news that it's still around and that he beat that cancer.
Smart decision selling it now; after the creators passing. Probably will help shoot the value up a bit, but if someone offered 3.4m back in 2008,, with inflation it would have to go over 5m+ which i doubt it, but what does my poor self know.
Great video, as always! Thank you!
