This song may be the most lyrically relevant tune I've heard in a long time..... reflecting time as a whole, but still on the cusp of current events.....and that, kids is artistic expression at it's best
You know bands have to mature. When my friend first showed me The Sword I was like woah where have they been my whole life? Then High country came out and I was even more blown away, they showed that they don't have to just stick to rocking heavy riffs. If they didn't change then we would have people on here bitching about how they never change they still sound exactly the same. With most bands I listen to their first few albums and after that they go stale on me. Not The Sword. I still get that feeling like I'm discovering something new every time I listen to them. My brother who only listens to rap fell in love with Used Future, as much as I listened to the rest of their shit their absolute newest album caught his attention, and since then he goes through and puts The Sword every time we go somewhere. I'm so sad that they have gone on hiatus. Another System of a Down. now I'll never get to see them live :'(
This band is truly fantastic and every album they’ve put out has been great in its own way. As someone who’s a big fan of their older stuff,I dig the new stuff alot. Bravo.
The sword is great about taking you on a journey with their albums, reminds me of 70's concept albums. Still the same Sword quality. I am sure they will not abandon the freya type of jams. I am digging this album.
Found these guys about 2 years ago and was just blown away. Spent an entire week listening to everything they recorded and nothing sucked. I mean, where they come from is a mystery to me. They have to be the unknown spawn of rocks greatest musicians ever born.
So glad I clicked on this video. I've been listening to the heavier riffed stuff they put out... But man, I love when a band switches it up, and the other stuff they put out is good too. This band is very underrated imo
I’ve listed to almost every song of they’re RUclips and wow. Maybe 1 or 2 that didn’t resonate with me ( doesn’t mean it’s a back track) that’s pretty good to have 2 songs out of numerous albums they weren’t for me, that’s incredible!
The first time I heard this, it shook me to the core. I hope anyone and everyone who hears this and sees this video has a realization like mine. Wake up people, this is not a dream. Our reality is being destroyed and replaced with a convoluted fukt up mess. Time to step up fellow masters of manifestation. What do we truly desire for humanity, what do they really need? Not more violence and destruction. Not separation and segregation. We need unity and we need peace, Now.

I really like this one! Although the styles are very different, during the solo/breakdown when the dual guitars really shine together it reminded me of Opeth a bit, which is not a bad thing.
Nathan Fulk I quite like the new stuff but if their next album mashed this slower acid feel with their classic heavy guitar rifts then I think it would be the ultimate masterpiece.
I love this band. Does anyone else think that the sword really did something here? I think I can go as far to say they invented their own genre of music. I call it science metal. It might need a better name. But come on. Used future... Sounds like southern rock mixed with heavy metal and techno. It awesome. I love all the swords music. But this album tops them all. Next to Apocryphon
Been a fan since Age of Winters, and each time I hear one of these mellow songs from the sword, I'm like wtf? I don't get why fans like their stuff after Apocryphon. Not that these are bad songs, just that they don't do anything for me. They are much better live, and I'm very thankful that I saw them last year.
This is what great, progressive bands do. They don't stay in the same space. This is full of amazing textures added with the great hooks. This is amazing work.
Floaty Boat yeah and the same as high country too. This band settled into this generic sound over the last two albums. You can hear it mostly in the vocal delivery
it goes from how heavy this axe to don't get to comfortable??? i just don't get the drastic change but its their band so i guess they have to do what makes them happy. check out a band called wolftooth if you haven't already pretty damn good band!
Change is the only constant

may not be the traditional "THE SWORD" but holy hell this is a great SONG. with great lyrics!
Holy hell. That's what they should name this place. Lol
@@briannowdesha3986 nah, just hell haha.

Dont worry too much, they will return. This will all blow over and we will get back to normal. As soon as they want to let us

And, again ....why would you fault an artist you enjoy for growing...... cheers to the boys from Texas for still being great

Look up wolftooth
@@davidaix5771You try Formation Ritual yet?
Give us more!!!!! Long live The Sword 🗡🤘🏼
I actually like this album more as a whole than the last 2.
This song is a gem!!!❤
During my Rise, Fall & Rise Again, this tune has been a constant.
The sword is pure rock whatever they do, pure, no additives, just rock!
This band rocks
I miss the old albums
Oliver Mace Those albums haven’t gone anywhere
Don't give a shit how much these guys have changed. They still kick ass!
The sword haciendo todo bien siempre 🎶🖤
We need 1980s heavy metal type animation movies for these albums.
So glad I clicked on this video. I've been listening to the heavier riffed stuff they put out... But man, I love when a band switches it up, and the other stuff they put out is good too. This band is very underrated imo
I will say this JD you are speaking words of wisdom that is more true today than any other.
God is GOOD
The message is strong with this one. BLESSED IS THIS BAND.
First. Nice video and great song. The Sword rocks!
Best Band nowadays ...
Great song. Love the Sword
somehow I just discovered this song a mere 3 days ago. One of their best! Jam Band to the max!
Good stuff guys..solid message , nice flow and beautiful video. ✌

I haven't slept a wink since these guys announced their hiatus.
They're back now : ). Saw them in Bham a couple weeks back
I want wizards and witches, space traveling archers and shit. I miss that but I listen to the first 4 every once in a while.
Richie Trott dont get to comfortable nothing stays the same

I had this kind of realisation a while ago. But i have no goddamn idea how to make it happen. It's like yelling at the deaf
@@Ryderman2000 at least the deaf can see. Do you know of the Blind Race?

These dudes don't disappoint
People complaining that this doesn't sound like them.
Bitch, what is the name of this song? 😂
love this lyric video!
Show....público
You can tell exactly when The Sword started doing shrooms and LSD
I really like this one! Although the styles are very different, during the solo/breakdown when the dual guitars really shine together it reminded me of Opeth a bit, which is not a bad thing.
Essa banda serve para te tirar da zona de conforto.
Those who do not understand... The wizards way is clear. Never surrender to fear.
Song came right on time for me 💯
What song does this sound like?
" the swords doing this weird acid rock thing now"... well all the better to get high to my dear.
This might be the best song on the album it's epic
This isnt awful, but damnit, I sure miss the first three albums Sword. This is a far cry from that.
Nathan Fulk I quite like the new stuff but if their next album mashed this slower acid feel with their classic heavy guitar rifts then I think it would be the ultimate masterpiece.
Enter... *The Scary Door*
I miss the Black Sabbath on crack albums.

It's nearly impossible to get comfortable at all in this day and age. So I don't.
Haha how much worse is it now😂
Is it just me, or do I hear a little Reverend Horton Heat influence in this song
It's just you
Not nearly as heavy as their first 4 albums (obviously) but not bad.
Been a fan since Age of Winters, and each time I hear one of these mellow songs from the sword, I'm like wtf?

Try it on 1.25 speed. It gives the tune a bit more pep. :)
Or just listen to it like they intended...
The OG is still the best, but the fast (and the slightly slow) versions were both an interesting take, I think! So
Or listen to your music however the fuck you want. The sword isn't fucking Beethoven dude.
robertpicklesnickle try enjoying the art the way it was produced instead of longing for a sound they clearly don't want to produce anymore.
The Rock Office take a toke and down a notch
this isnt the sword
in fact if you listen closely it couldn´t be more "The Sword" ....
Actually if you’d care to notice, this song is written and performed by The Sword! Nice try!
It's still fucking good. I really dont get your problem here
Jeeze this album could literally be any cookie cutter stoner rock band ever, they either sold out or ran out of ideaS, sad indeed.
This is what great, progressive bands do. They don't stay in the same space. This is full of amazing textures added with the great hooks. This is amazing work.
sounds like every song off the last album. Same melody, structure.
this is from that album
You think all the songs on Used Future sound the same? Yikes. That's a problem with you, not the album.
Floaty Boat yeah and the same as high country too. This band settled into this generic sound over the last two albums. You can hear it mostly in the vocal delivery
Pock3r s Yikes again. You need to listen to more varied music.
Floaty Boat exactly. Thats why i only gave this shitty album one listen.
how could the sword become so uninspired and boring?
