- Van Life just got a whole lot cozier! As winter approaches, the nights have been dipping below 20 degrees, which means it is time to make some big changes to the van so we are well prepared for snow, wind, and chilly nights.

So, I'm African and have lived in Europe for 5 years, during which I just spent the winters hating the weather. Only now, almost 10 years after coming back home, I start having an appreciation for colder climates and that's all thanks to you, Linnea! In fact, I have a renewed appreciation for all seasons, since they all bring something exciting and challenging. Still, all thanks to your way of sharing your appreciation for life with us. Here in the state of Georgia, we have wonderful reason changes. I think the worse is pollen season in spring. Everything is blooming so beautifully with a light green film on our cars.
Akela cracks me up! She is always such a snuggly sleepyhead in the mornings 😂

I can't believe it's time for another winter already! I feel like it was just a few months ago we were watching all the wonderful adventures of the north woods.
I love the way you enjoy nature! But what is so awesome is, You! You know how to make sure you are knowledgeable about what it takes to get what you want. You know how to fix things to make sure you and Chris are comfortable! I just love that!
I know I will never be able to enjoy life and God's creation, the way you do, due to be disabled, so I will do it through you!🙂 I am grateful that God loves me and I am still here!🙏

It might have an auto shut off? I used the larger lil buddy model in my van and it has an automatic shut off if the oxygen levels get too low - it wouldn’t even turn on at high altitudes.

Seeing your candles made me think of this. Have you tried the candles and inverted clay flower pots as a heat source? If you couldn't wood stove it, and didn't have propane, that might work for heating the size of your van.

That little stove is pretty much perfect.
I wood put some sort of metal behind the stove. One it will reflec more heat in rather than heating the wood behind it but the Big plus is you will feal safe. Sweet Dreams Guys
Don’t know if you have a CO meter, but I really don’t think you’re supposed to use a propane heater indoors Linnea!

I have traveled as far as the United States goes but I find my favorite spots are just like yours in the high desert in the quiet mountains in the wilderness ...after going through a rough 3 years I look forward to hopefully being able to get something a little bigger for me and Simba my dog to travel in because a Subaru Outback is pretty tiny. If you have a cold spot in the van, aim a mini usb fan from behind or off to the side of the stove towards that area. Will also help cool down the hotspot a bit right behind the stove. :)

I’m so amazed at how well you make your tiny space work so well. And back to the wonderful woods the again! I’m especially curious about the space that Akela and Kobuck use to jump up on the bed. The van always looks so big but I know its tight…I would love the actual dimensions starting with the width going into the sliding door, the length to the cabinet(how much room d they have to land) and then the ‘alley’ to the bed. It looks like your little writing nook doubles as the step.

Hi I put the odd wood stove in ...... and it looks like you have put flue pipe around the wrong way...... it will still work but when or if water comes down it will come out on top of stove instead of going inside and no mess. But it’s great to be out there on Big adventure’s all the best Sean

Yay the Woodstove has returned!!! I love butternut squash soup. I always add a little dried scotch bonnet, the heat adds a nice little spark! & it keeps you nice and warm.

Thanks for a great video! I watched a van lifer from Norway and during the winter a wood stove a must! Love that you can now heat up or even cook on it. There are quite a few great recipes for wood stoves, maybe a bit scaled back in size but still a fun option to explore. Enjoy! Looking forward to your future videos!!

Linnea I love your little wood stove! I am wondering if you can answer me where you got it from? I’m building a shuttle bus I bought and would like to put a little wood stove in! I am also putting a diesel heater in for nighttime as I live in cold Canada!
