I wonder if the true reason why Ais' backstory is being kept under wraps is because Ais' backstory reveal is going to be very divisive and controversial and the author knows this. In the Astrea Record story Alfia calling Ais the "Daughter of the Dungeon" and her wondering if Ais is going to be sacrificed does come across as possible foreshadowing at least to me it does.
There could be some controversial points, but more likely he is keeping it under wraps because it is the end game content. Ais and the dungeon are still the two biggest mysteries in Danmachi and Omori has seemingly keep most of that content untapped to keep the endgame content fresh.
I'd say it is more that as an author he chose his direction and hasn't moved but his story moved on without him. Yes, that happens to authors often. I've read the whole Ais storyline published to date and...I still find her an unengaging character, especially when framed again Hestia, our amazing fox girl, and of course Ryuu. It's sadly making it so I don't want to stay engaged.
The main story is on the 19th novel. Every 4 novels is a Ark and anime series, series 3 - novel 12 was around half way in the main story leading to the Black Dragon.
I didn't think this when I first read vol.19, but now looking back on the volume it seems a little odd to me that Hestia still hasn't been shown to have updated Bell's statis since his fight with Ottar in Vol. 18. I get keeping the volume more centered on the main focus of the plot, which for this volume was mostly Nina, but still is a little odd.
i forget what vol is it but it said that Hestia will updated eveyone once a week or so. if she keeps just updating bell Evey 2 or 3 days bell may ask why and what going on a bit like in vol 11
the only issue with the volume that i see is we add one more love intererest to bell. At this point horn is just going to go crazy and start killing off all potential rivals, just so Syrs and her have a path forward. i do like that most of Freya familia are now working part time in the resturants so they can hang out with syrs while acting as bodyguard for hestia family. From reading the novel this feel like a step back from the awesome war game and to let the character take a small break before they start on the next arc center around the black dragon quest. I do feel hestia family may need to grow to fullfilled that quest as they may need more muscles, but giving how they handle the last dungeon dive this may be a case they borrow family members from other group to supplements their groups. Like the former Ishtar amazon and i guess now freya. I suspect Bell speedy growth will stop soon as he nearly caught up to ais.
im losing my love for Danmachi its been 10 years almost 11 now and not much has happened imo. Where is the adventure, the end goal is so far away it seems like 50 years away it feels when they do an entire volume just for syrs date with bell idk
Which is the problem be cause it makes all this other relationship drama...just wasted drama (granted Freya going full yandere was plot enhancing but you can only do that once). What makes you think Eina is going to join the Hestia Familia? She would be a low Level 1 with no combat skills. I would rather have her be the next head of the Guild. Ouranos will possibly consider having Eina as Royman's replacement. Even though there are other good candidates. Like Rehmer or even Rose Fannett. So I hope 🤞 at the end of DanMachi. Bell Cranel has become the most Adventurer and Eina Tulle has become the new Head of the Guild. Also why would Naaza leave the Miach Familia? She is their Captain. There's no logical reason for her to join the Hestia Familia.
Yeah, Naaza, I will say, is least probable. If you are an anime only fan or haven't reread the early novels recently, there was the whole incident with her early on, then the inner monolog during the Apollo attack that highlights quite well her feelings toward Bell are big sister at best, customer and supplier of materials at worst. Plus, she is head over heels for Miach, as evidenced by the interactions at the ball, where she actively, along with most of the other participants, ships Bell and Aiz. Horn is slightly more believable. Love is a very similar emotion to hate. It isn't unreasonable that she could just be a tsundere. With Lyu or Ryuu in Hestia Familia, and Syr acting as a subordinate, then you can't rule out any of the bar ladies. They are a family in their own right. They also know a bit about the Familia's circumstances. Tsubaki.... maybe to follow Welf... she has more feelings for him than I think she knows. The interaction after the pass parade that season 1 didn't cover was a good clue. The mobilization with distinct hints of desperation was a bit of a clue. Once again, that was more pronounced in the LN over the anime. Wow, I almost wrote a novel on character interaction and development. Sorry, everyone, anybody who makes it here thank you.

Hestia family has too many female members and not with only welf as the only male member beside our hereo. i hope beside nina we will get at least a male member to join the group to help balance things out a bit more. hestia family could also use more top tier as well a lot of low tier group to handle deeper floors. We see Loki family when they go dungeon diving is normally a huge farmy that has to split up to reach the lower floor before reforming in the 18 and so on. Hestia going after the black dragon soon and they need to have the muscle for such a quest. Of course not all the people involve in that quest need to be part of the hestia but i am thinking the guild may force them to expand to meet the demand.
@Marveryn I think you are correct in many respects. The big game changer, as mentioned in my previous post, is the low-key subordination of Freya Familia. That, though not at the point of taking orders as such, I do believe in times of trouble they will back Bell. Not necessarily out of love for him, but respect for Freya's wishes. There is also the alluded to connection to Zeus and Hera Familias. Think back to Little Bit's situation in the Souma Familia and the interfamilial connections, being as exactly as family. Zeus is in hiding, Hera may be as well. Bell's aunt is still around. Tell me if the situation warranted that younger members or the affiliated kin of the juggernaut familias of the previous hunt (possibly connecting pieces for Aiz as well) would not stream in to back up a brother. Bell's family is much larger than he or most readers have given thought to. Aiz is also reaching a tipping point. She has realized she has feelings, but I don't think she knows what exactly they are or how to process them. Colour me crazy but let me go out on a limb and attribute this to the possibility of the spirit blood, her goals, and not just her nievety, though that is some of it. He also has the respect of most of the Loki Familia, as well as Loki herself, taking interest in him. This is highlighted in the On The Side series, as well as Loki's proposal of naming him "Trickster's Toy." Once again, sorry for the light novel's worth of analysis. This novel has me engaged as the world building and interpersonal connections and reactions have so much colour and possibility. The writer has made a world where literally anything can happen and usually does. Chef's kiss on this one for me.
I want more story development but I do like the banter with all the girls. I also want bell to have a big flex moment so that people in other guilds can witness how strong he really is

well you got syrs and horn which could count as one person or two depending on your view. you got the 3 from hestia family. Ais has not yet declare her love but that should be coming. (one of the problem with ais is she pretty much been an ice queen so we have little knowledge if she return bell feelings or not) those are you main girls then you now gut the tulle sisters add to the mix and the assortment that feel for him but have no made a move.
Sry to tell u ya ais fans author hinted the ending at the epilogue of vol 14 . That he wanted to end bell with ryuu right then and there but stopped himself from doing so. For your reference bell takes his inspirations from his grandfather and every belief he has had so far has come true with ryuu only. The hint starts at season 1 (vol 5) bell peeking at ryuu while embarrassed from ais and runs away

Up to season 3, I thought aiz would be the main love interest, but after reading the books thoroughly from 1 to 19, I can say that's very much unlikely to happen. Hate to spoil stuff . Reading the books will give you much greater pleasure as you read and discover their inner thoughts and feelings Also, pay attention to autor's hints . He will basically tell u what to expect in the future
They need to start emphasizing Ais.... because I am not so sure that Bell still doesnt just want to be with Hestia, but cant. But as it stands right now they sold me on Ryuu as best waifu. 4 seasons in and I dont even care about Ais.
He shut down Hestia early on. He see's her as a mother figure not in a romantic sense. Omori has also stated that Bell and Ais are endgame and Bell has made it clear to everyone Ais is the only one he has feelings for. Ryuu is great but he told her at the end of Season 4 as well Ais is the one he likes.

Bell has already stated Ais is the one he likes. He told this to Ryuu at the end of her arc. This hasn't changed. Ryuu accepted that he has feelings for Ais. The only ones who haven't yet are Lily and Hestia which is pretty annoying but at least Bell has put it out there that Ais is the one he want's. Anime only's are confused because yeah too many other girls getting involved but at least Bell has stated the only one he has feelings for is Ais. That isn't going to change as the entire story is built around the two coming together later on. Omori has already stated too that Ais is the endgame for Bell. I do love Ryuu though. But, it is time for Omori to bring Ais into the MS because it is time (granted his reasoning for not doing it was good. Her being too strong and would make things easy for Bell). In the Side Story Ais has gotten quite a lot too regarding her backstory, her own problems/feelings, and growing as a person. But, the Loki familia is also a focus. But, people making way too light of her stuff in Sword Oratoria. She has her own story to go through which we have gotten throughout SO but the other members of the familia also needed stories as well. They are building up characters for the inevitable fight with the OEBD and eventually AisxBell coming together. Which will be nice.
Yes.BxA End game. It's like some other stories where fans will have their ships but Volume 16 and 17 shows How Bell really feels for Aiz and Vice versa.The time he's running looking for Aiz. X.
A guy only focused on 1 girl and all these other girls who might be just as good as her or better! I mean this guy's standard for only 1 girl is annoying. But yes the adventure of the world would be nice to hear and see a harem. Harems I can only see are good when either 1. The male will take them all in (if allowed) and accept them all. 2. He lets them know that he has someone else in mind, but he won't stop her from trying. So she can still try but now maybe she could find someone else. but continuously dragging girls along just gets annoying. Some stories I am reading now have a harem and they are together not beating around the bush, straight up together, and even the bed stuff. SO yeah some have better stories like that.

@@christophercorbin9387 this volume stated they were not planning on adding anyone new beside lyu, but i suspect the guild may force them to expand so they can handle the black dragon. then again they may do as they did for deep dive in dugeon and gather a lot of the smaller familia into an alliance for that quest such as borrow the former ishtar amazons from hermes and so on. Plus any of the former freya family.
@@Marveryn Actually it stated they didn't want to piss off the other familias by recruiting, but would ask that the other familias be understanding if others ask to join them. Nina Tulle for example will probably join them in the next book. They set it up so the Freya Familia could still be useful, but that they wouldn't be helping the Hestia Familia in the dungeon.
In all honesty I'm a little annoyed about Welf and Mikoto's growth. Haruhime and Lilli managed to barely hit level 2 after the expedition, but Daphne, Nazza and Cassandra have all managed to hit level 3 after the expedition and the War Game. Heck, Welf and Mikoto also played key parts against the Knossos war, Mikoto literally taking the place of two first class adventureurs on the battle lines. I get that Welf and Mikoto haven't been level 2 even a year yet, but we can see by how much Lefiya managed to grow that Bell is not the only person capable of rapid growth. Both Welf and Mikoto have managed to defeat members far above their own level, and I'd imagine a number of other feats that would hit the high quality exelia requirements of hitting level 3. I know that using Haruhime's spells lower their growth rate, but they have acomplished a lot of things without the level boost going. Heck Welf took down Frey's guards and a level 6 Allen. (Who, honestly, I think Anya should hit level 5 on her next update after the feat of actually standing up to her brother, but thats another issue.) Yet, Welf only has H-G level in his stats. Mikoto H-F. Ryuu managed to get her level 6 Agility up to H just during the Wargame... How Welf and Mikoto's stats have gone up so little baffels me. Also, they are temporary members, who are supposed to go back to their old familias after a year (Also the only two in the familia that don't want to sleep with Bell). Hestia really needs to get some more people. In all honesty I think that Lefiya's 7th squad would work better joining Hestia Familia than Loki. Two level 3s and two level 2s would actually be able to participate and be core members of the Hestia Familia. In the Loki Familia they are looking at years of being supporters before they really get to be of any use on the deeper levels. They would grow a lot faster in the Hestia Familia with the challenge of being core parts of expeditions. If they would be people Hestia would accept we would just have to see. Atleast they would be 4 members that were not trying to win Bell's heart. Basiclly the level desparity is going to cause the familia issues. They need more level 3s and 4s, and the level 2s to hit level 3.
HF needs a full time healer and lage and also more guards specially the back/dear guards. Though Nina is the only character who really said that she will join Hestia Familia in Vol 19 and also it will be good if ang ex-evilus adventurer will join Hestia.
Ais held the previous record for the fastest level up which was a year for 1->2, so if Omori made their leveling any faster, he would have to break the system and make some retcons. It should take Welf and Mikoto a year at the minimum to go from 2 -> 3. They are actually moving really fast by any standard before. That being said, I don't know what Omori intends to do to get Bell to the end of the dungeon with the huge level disparity in his familia unless he has Bell go with Freya or Loki familia. We will just have to see what the next arc is about after the education arc.
am not, cause typically you dont jump in growth as fast as bell has. according to the novel it has not yet been a full year yet and bell has already reach level 5. So welf and mikoto are growing the typical level adventure. i suspect they will level but at least when it closer to a full year since joining the hestia family
@@Marveryn Yes, I made that point. But, you can also see from Lefiya's growth that it is possible. The Loki Familia usually doesn't push their lower members too hard, they instead help them to safely and slowly grow. Rapid growth occours when doing things far more dangerous, but, those that go down that route often die. The Hestia Familia keeps surviving things far beyond their level, so we should still see more growth in their characters. Lefiya pushed herself and survived more dangerous situations. She hit level 4 in Volume 12, and by volume 13 has managed to get her magic ability up to E419, Endurnace and Agility up to G 220ish, Dexterity almost to G at H199. Since the beginning of the series Mikoto has only gotten her skills mostly to the F (300ish) range. As a level 2 those skills should grow more quickly than they do at level 4. While Welf's highest score is currently his Dexterity at G266.
I completely agree with you. The author needs to stop with this "harem" stuff. Because Ais Wallenstein is the endgame. Bell Cranel needs to grow a set of balls and lay down the law with them. Especially Hestia and Lili. That he is never going to see them in that way. He will always cherish them. But he will never see them in a romantic way. Because it's stupid that Bell has the guts to stand up against stronger 💪 opponents like Asterius. But he can't simply tell girls to back off his personal life and accept that his heart ❤️ belongs to the Sword 🗡️ Princess. To me it would have made more sense to only have 3 girls in the story that like Bell in the romantic way. Instead having more than half a dozen.
I think it has more to do with the publisher than the author. The Loki LN's do pretty well for a spinoff series and they seem to believe that they can't market new girls if Bell and Ais are official. The sad part is, if you only read the main series you start to wonder why Ais is even involved with the story given how convoluted the excuses are to keep them separate.
To me the part i dislike is that Ais is literally the worst girl right now, not because she is bad but because we barely see anything about her, even in the spin off she is a secondary character, it's har to root for her when literally every other girl had more screen time and interactions with bell, to the point that i would honestly feel sad if she rejects Ryuu, even if this seems to be what's goint to happen
She's not even close to being the worst. She is great in her own series with Lefiya. Ais gets a lot in Sword Oratoria and that series was made for her. Also, she gets plenty of screen time with Bell in SO. But, its by design that she isn't around a lot as she is too strong

Tell me if the situation warranted that younger members or the affiliated kin of the juggernaut familias of the previous hunt (possibly connecting pieces for Aiz as well) would not stream in to back up a brother. Bell's family is much larger than he or most readers have given thought to. Aiz is also reaching a tipping point. She has realized she has feelings, but I don't think she knows what exactly they are or how to process them. Colour me crazy but let me go out on a limb and attribute this to the possibility of the spirit blood, her goals, and not just her nievety, though that is some of it. He also has the respect of most of the Loki Familia, as well as Loki herself, taking interest in him. This is highlighted in the On The Side series, as well as Loki's proposal of naming him "Trickster's Toy." Once again, sorry for the light novel's worth of analysis. This novel has me engaged as the world building and interpersonal connections and reactions have so much colour and possibility. The writer has made a world where literally anything can happen and usually does. Chef's kiss on this one for me.
I want more story development but I do like the banter with all the girls. I also want bell to have a big flex moment so that people in other guilds can witness how strong he really is

well you got syrs and horn which could count as one person or two depending on your view. you got the 3 from hestia family. Ais has not yet declare her love but that should be coming. (one of the problem with ais is she pretty much been an ice queen so we have little knowledge if she return bell feelings or not) those are you main girls then you now gut the tulle sisters add to the mix and the assortment that feel for him but have no made a move.

Sry to tell u ya ais fans author hinted the ending at the epilogue of vol 14 .
That he wanted to end bell with ryuu right then and there but stopped himself from doing so.
For your reference bell takes his inspirations from his grandfather and every belief he has had so far has come true with ryuu only.
The hint starts at season 1 (vol 5) bell peeking at ryuu while embarrassed from ais and runs away

Up to season 3, I thought aiz would be the main love interest, but after reading the books thoroughly from 1 to 19, I can say that's very much unlikely to happen.

They need to start emphasizing Ais.... because I am not so sure that Bell still doesnt just want to be with Hestia, but cant.
But as it stands right now they sold me on Ryuu as best waifu. 4 seasons in and I dont even care about Ais.
He shut down Hestia early on. He see's her as a mother figure not in a romantic sense. Omori has also stated that Bell and Ais are endgame and Bell has made it clear to everyone Ais is the only one he has feelings for. Ryuu is great but he told her at the end of Season 4 as well Ais is the one he likes.

@tailee7020 people keep saying that he tells ryu no at the end of season 4 that never happens. Bell and ryu has had more development with bell then ais has with bell by a large margin. The author better Start doing somthing. More than likely they will have a similar quest that bell and ryu did.

Bell has already stated Ais is the one he likes. He told this to Ryuu at the end of her arc. This hasn't changed. Ryuu accepted that he has feelings for Ais. The only ones who haven't yet are Lily and Hestia which is pretty annoying but at least Bell has put it out there that Ais is the one he want's. Anime only's are confused because yeah too many other girls getting involved but at least Bell has stated the only one he has feelings for is Ais.
That isn't going to change as the entire story is built around the two coming together later on. Omori has already stated too that Ais is the endgame for Bell. I do love Ryuu though.
But, it is time for Omori to bring Ais into the MS because it is time (granted his reasoning for not doing it was good. Her being too strong and would make things easy for Bell). In the Side Story Ais has gotten quite a lot too regarding her backstory, her own problems/feelings, and growing as a person. But, the Loki familia is also a focus. But, people making way too light of her stuff in Sword Oratoria. She has her own story to go through which we have gotten throughout SO but the other members of the familia also needed stories as well. They are building up characters for the inevitable fight with the OEBD and eventually AisxBell coming together. Which will be nice.

@@christophercorbin9387 this volume stated they were not planning on adding anyone new beside lyu, but i suspect the guild may force them to expand so they can handle the black dragon. then again they may do as they did for deep dive in dugeon and gather a lot of the smaller familia into an alliance for that quest such as borrow the former ishtar amazons from hermes and so on. Plus any of the former freya family.
@@Marveryn Actually it stated they didn't want to piss off the other familias by recruiting, but would ask that the other familias be understanding if others ask to join them. Nina Tulle for example will probably join them in the next book. They set it up so the Freya Familia could still be useful, but that they wouldn't be helping the Hestia Familia in the dungeon.

If I'm being honest the Bell and Ryu ship is a lot better then Bell Aiz.
In all honesty I'm a little annoyed about Welf and Mikoto's growth. Haruhime and Lilli managed to barely hit level 2 after the expedition, but Daphne, Nazza and Cassandra have all managed to hit level 3 after the expedition and the War Game. Heck, Welf and Mikoto also played key parts against the Knossos war, Mikoto literally taking the place of two first class adventureurs on the battle lines. I get that Welf and Mikoto haven't been level 2 even a year yet, but we can see by how much Lefiya managed to grow that Bell is not the only person capable of rapid growth. Both Welf and Mikoto have managed to defeat members far above their own level, and I'd imagine a number of other feats that would hit the high quality exelia requirements of hitting level 3. I know that using Haruhime's spells lower their growth rate, but they have acomplished a lot of things without the level boost going. Heck Welf took down Frey's guards and a level 6 Allen. (Who, honestly, I think Anya should hit level 5 on her next update after the feat of actually standing up to her brother, but thats another issue.) Yet, Welf only has H-G level in his stats. Mikoto H-F. Ryuu managed to get her level 6 Agility up to H just during the Wargame... How Welf and Mikoto's stats have gone up so little baffels me. Also, they are temporary members, who are supposed to go back to their old familias after a year (Also the only two in the familia that don't want to sleep with Bell).
Hestia really needs to get some more people. In all honesty I think that Lefiya's 7th squad would work better joining Hestia Familia than Loki. Two level 3s and two level 2s would actually be able to participate and be core members of the Hestia Familia. In the Loki Familia they are looking at years of being supporters before they really get to be of any use on the deeper levels. They would grow a lot faster in the Hestia Familia with the challenge of being core parts of expeditions. If they would be people Hestia would accept we would just have to see. Atleast they would be 4 members that were not trying to win Bell's heart.
Basiclly the level desparity is going to cause the familia issues. They need more level 3s and 4s, and the level 2s to hit level 3.
HF needs a full time healer and lage and also more guards specially the back/dear guards. Though Nina is the only character who really said that she will join Hestia Familia in Vol 19 and also it will be good if ang ex-evilus adventurer will join Hestia.

Ais held the previous record for the fastest level up which was a year for 1->2, so if Omori made their leveling any faster, he would have to break the system and make some retcons. It should take Welf and Mikoto a year at the minimum to go from 2 -> 3. They are actually moving really fast by any standard before. That being said, I don't know what Omori intends to do to get Bell to the end of the dungeon with the huge level disparity in his familia unless he has Bell go with Freya or Loki familia. We will just have to see what the next arc is about after the education arc.
am not, cause typically you dont jump in growth as fast as bell has. according to the novel it has not yet been a full year yet and bell has already reach level 5. So welf and mikoto are growing the typical level adventure. i suspect they will level but at least when it closer to a full year since joining the hestia family
@@Marveryn Yes, I made that point. But, you can also see from Lefiya's growth that it is possible. The Loki Familia usually doesn't push their lower members too hard, they instead help them to safely and slowly grow. Rapid growth occours when doing things far more dangerous, but, those that go down that route often die. The Hestia Familia keeps surviving things far beyond their level, so we should still see more growth in their characters. Lefiya pushed herself and survived more dangerous situations. She hit level 4 in Volume 12, and by volume 13 has managed to get her magic ability up to E419, Endurnace and Agility up to G 220ish, Dexterity almost to G at H199. Since the beginning of the series Mikoto has only gotten her skills mostly to the F (300ish) range. As a level 2 those skills should grow more quickly than they do at level 4. While Welf's highest score is currently his Dexterity at G266.
I completely agree with you. The author needs to stop with this "harem" stuff. Because Ais Wallenstein is the endgame.
Bell Cranel needs to grow a set of balls and lay down the law with them. Especially Hestia and Lili. That he is never going to see them in that way.
He will always cherish them. But he will never see them in a romantic way. Because it's stupid that Bell has the guts to stand up against stronger 💪 opponents like Asterius. But he can't simply tell girls to back off his personal life and accept that his heart ❤️ belongs to the Sword 🗡️ Princess.
To me it would have made more sense to only have 3 girls in the story that like Bell in the romantic way. Instead having more than half a dozen.
I think it has more to do with the publisher than the author. The Loki LN's do pretty well for a spinoff series and they seem to believe that they can't market new girls if Bell and Ais are official. The sad part is, if you only read the main series you start to wonder why Ais is even involved with the story given how convoluted the excuses are to keep them separate.

To me the part i dislike is that Ais is literally the worst girl right now, not because she is bad but because we barely see anything about her, even in the spin off she is a secondary character, it's har to root for her when literally every other girl had more screen time and interactions with bell, to the point that i would honestly feel sad if she rejects Ryuu, even if this seems to be what's goint to happen
She's not even close to being the worst. She is great in her own series with Lefiya. Ais gets a lot in Sword Oratoria and that series was made for her. Also, she gets plenty of screen time with Bell in SO.
But, its by design that she isn't around a lot as she is too strong
