Hello, Bob. Thank you for choosing my comment and for explaining about your flowers. Last week my father bought a punching bag, I ran out of steam using it. Sometimes running out of steam is not a bad thing, maybe we have anxious energy or something similar, and it really helps to spend that energy. We feel better doing this. Boxing is interesting, Bob. I am learning some skills; maybe you can see me in the next Olympics. 😂🥊😉

I’ve never really heard of ‘to be steamed’. I’m just imagining either someone in a steam room or someone hanging by the neck being steamed like a clothing haha. Good to know the actual one!

Hi, Bob the Canadian. I think I'm running out of steam right now, too. Just got back from a kayak trip today. It wasn't a very long or difficult trip this time (nothing much to write home about), but you know, I'm a guy who remembers steam locomotives... 😮 On the other hand, these memories help me visualize the meaning of today's phrases more vividly. Thank you. Take care.

I got the idiom to be steamed as a synonime of to be angry.
In fact when you let your anger away you say to blow off some steam.

I think you once said that the bouquets have their own, I think it was a seasonal theme, Bob 😎. So a particular type of flower which is chosen as the base of the bouquet at this time and the other flowers are then placed around it. I think it was when you also mentioned that before Jen told you this, you usually just took a few flowers and put them together in a bouquet 😘. Thanks as always, Bob. Have a great day and enjoy it. Take care. 👨‍🏫💐💚

    • @bobsshortenglishlessons

Yep. Generally there is a "main event" flower that is used. This means the current popular flower at that time of year. Currently the main even flower in the bouquets are sunflowers. A few weeks ago the main event flowers were peonies! 😎🎩🧢

In hockey "to chirp" means something a bit more negative. If another player chirps at you it means they are saying mean things about you to try and make you angry. In this situations I simply meant "to chime in" "to add to the conversation". Hopefully you took the more positive meaning! 😎🎩🧢
