Tomeighty , The reason I like the 55 better than the 56 or 57 is because the rear tire well is square , I never could understand why people wanted to ruin it with some patch panel , if you want bigger tires , narrow the rear end , it's got a built posi Trac anyway
@@jimthomas777 Cool, I love to hear why people like one car over another. And you know I'm going to be thinking of that wheel well every time I see one now. ha ha
@@tomeighty , Well my Chevy brother , while you are thinking about that rear wheel well , think about how Chevy changed the front grill on the 56 and 57 , they made it look ugly by going all the way across the front and in 57 they decided to give it rear wings only they are folded up and are called fins , but to compensate , Chevy put a bird emblem in the center of the hood and called it a ornament , Which most guys remove Because it's just plain stupid looking , And back to the 55 grill , Look at the 62 Vette grill and tell me what you see
@@tomeighty , I noticed that you replaced your hood ornament with a Super Charger Blower Thingy , Kinda big don't you think , So big in fact that you ruined the hood cutting a big hole in it just so people could see your ornament , Ha ha ha Now that was funny
The Red 58 Impala was beautiful. It’s so cool that all these cars are still around. My Grandson needs to see these run. God bless all these guys keeping them running!
I just bought an M2 1/64 Nova gasser today along with a 1/64 gasser Charger similar to the ones in this video. I also built a Charger street machine model recently.
03:25 That's why you don't put radials on the front and bias-ply on the back. Also appeared to have not quite enough caster(layback) in the front axle... Too much caster and you'll see them wobble/shudder on the back-up. 7°-11° is the working range.
You know what I find ironic about this is all the work and go fast goodies they put in those cars, yet a Shelby GT Super Snake drag pack right from the factory turned in the 10's.
Hi, you can email me at TomEightyVideos@gmail.com and we can set up a time to talk. I'm at the Woodward cruise in Detroit Michigan right now shooting video but I will be back home on Tuesday.
The cars might not be the fastest cars going down the track anymore but they make up for in spades on style points and Kool factor at least 10 times over because who doesn’t like front engine dragsters and gassers with tunnel rams and blowers linings up and blasting down the strip like it was the 60’s again when a gallon of gas and a McDonalds hamburger were both 19 cents and 6 packs of Suds was less than a buck and a bottle of Thunderbird was 40 twice.
Wow, good eye on that one. I was just looking at the win light (3 vertical dots) at the finish line below the time and mph. It must have been wrong with that red light going off. Thanks for watching Capt.

Wow love those burnout this is what I call racing no fancy stuff no nitrous just old-fashioned School racing
Half those cars have blowers
Some very strong running cars seem to frequent this strip. Well built and well tuned for conditions at hand.
Great video, great camera work ; and thanks for showing the ET's.
Back to the days when drag racing was Kool love it oh those aafa wild Willie borsch
It's refreshing to see some old skool kool cars. Loads of different body styles.
Yes I agree. I went to my first Vintage Drag Race last year and was hooked on it. Amazing cars.
@@tomeighty Sweet, sounds like we will get to see more. It's not all about going 200mph +

Great video Love at non-stop drag racing but some of these cars don't look like old school cars back in my day
This is cool for me I’ve always loved the gasser culture being from the uk.. I’ve even recently got a hot wheels very similar to that poison ivy 🤣👌🏻
Oh yea, the Gassers are cool!!!!!!
I just bought an M2 1/64 Nova gasser today along with a 1/64 gasser Charger similar to the ones in this video. I also built a Charger street machine model recently.

I know, I'm thinking the same thing. I keep looking on Facebook Marketplace hoping a nice one comes up for sale.
@@tomeighty if you live near this dragstrip I Illinois, then i should tell you that i seen a 35 chevy gasser on Facebook marketplace in Indiana.
@@tomeighty Tom you need to check out Nitro union on RUclips. He can point you in the right direction

Thank You Tom for a great video
Thanks for watching Phillip, glad you liked it 👍
Back in day a man could support a family with just a shovel, digging worms for thunderbird's, an then came the roadrunner
JUST ANOTHER GREAT ONE !!!! THANX A BUNCH
@tomeighty very good video! I enjoyed it :)
Thank you!
Man that drag looks really bumpy!!
That was very very entertaining
What's the purpose of having the front end jacked up? Was it function or just the style back then?
I believe it shifts the weight to rear for better traction
Funtastic!!!
Wow wicked cool thanks no school like old school scooter d
Thanks for watching Scooter 👍
The guy on the intercom sounds like Mean Gene Okerlund. 😁
That's awesome 👍
Lol
This is fu#%ing awesome!
I like this it clean honest fun
You know what I find ironic about this is all the work and go fast goodies they put in those cars, yet a Shelby GT Super Snake drag pack right from the factory turned in the 10's.
Did they make that car 60 years ago?
Comparison makes no sense at all.
That vet is fast

LOL, I actually thought that the thumbnail was a model.
Veeerry Nice !!
Thank you!
Awesome!😎
The last strip in my area shutdown for good last summer. I miss watching this sh!t from the stands with burning rubber in the air.
3:30 The same thing I thought before the replay. I thought it was a video glitch or the wheels were coming off.
I like the joker and poison I've car
dont you know witch lane is left or right ..the first race the guy in left lane red lit and lost ...
\
Wow, good eye on that one. I was just looking at the win light (3 vertical dots) at the finish line below the time and mph. It must have been wrong with that red light going off. Thanks for watching Capt.
Doing an 1/8 mile burnout is ridiculous
Nothing fancy in setting up engines. All trial-and-error errors.
Is my cars is the el camino 77 motors 383 stroker big blok compresseur wieland 600 ch y love the cars
All I want to know is where's all those mustang GT and the hellcats and the dodge demons they couldn't handle these old school track monsters
Like.
💞💞👍👍👍👍
55 CHEVY'S LOOK GREAT, BUT ONLY RUNS IN CONSISTANT 12's
That's because they are built to D/G rules which run mid 12's.
Where is the bel air 55 the road kill the motors emi y love the cars
I love the gassers but the half track burnouts are annoying af.
1926 Model T 1:09!!
