Thank you very much. We are very focused on the cloud architect community. It’s a wonderful community. Unfortunately there are a lot of training programs out there that can help someone be certified but it leaves them completely unprepared for a real cloud architect job. So we work hard to provide this type of guidance, so we can elevate the cloud architect community and give people career options.
Great insightful video. I love the push for acknowledging weaknesses and ignorance in a particular subject because I feel too many times the fake it till you make it motto is pushed in interviews which already established dishonesty so thank you for the encouragement.
Hi Rich, Thank you for your kind words. I think what it comes down to is to think about things from someone else’s perspective. I leaned that from working in internal medicine in my youth. Find out wha the customer/employer/patient needs solve their problem. Solve the problem with honesty, integrity, passion and caring and you will always been appreciated and have a huge network of people that would like you on their team. I really appreciate your support and feedback.

4:09 "No one wants to hire someone that looks like they need a nap."😆 That pretty much describes many of the people at my company. Surprised to see that some of them are still here after years. 😅
Useful information. I believe it depends on your experience level and the employer is well aware of what they are looking for. If they are looking for a fresher they will let you know what to do and if they are looking for an experienced one they would be more interesting to know how you can add value to their organization.
Bilal. So true. It’s very dependent upon the employer and what they are looking for. Having said that I went from internal medicine to senior network engineer as a first job. See as a hiring manager when we evaluate a potential hire we look at all factors Competency Communication skills Attitude Emotional intelligence And more Then we crate an “average score” If experience and technical competency are worth 50 percent of someone’s total score the new architects need to get better at the other attributes. So if you can be only 35 out of 50 percent on the technical competency piece and 50 percent out of 50 on everything else this person is often more desirable then a great experienced architect that lacks soft skills, emotional intelligence etc. Some organization have cut and dry requirements. Others are more about the total package. We work to help people improve their total package.
Wonderful. It’s a process. The better we are on the interview the better the chances are to get hired and for a higher salary. When your super like-able people sometimes forget lack of experience. I have hired great people who lacked experience as they had other great qualities. Often they were the best hires.
You are not doomed. Just learn the cloud this means the network and datacenter. Then build your own cloud from scratch. Nutanix it openstack ansible.
