- Instacart shopper has gone down hill over the past year so whether you are a new shopper or an experienced shopper we are going over some differences i've noticed in the app, whether it is lower base pay or app updates that decrease visibility of batches, comment below if you agree/disagree and share your experiences in the last year with instacart. I also attempt the costco drop for the first time lets see how it goes.

It's horrible now. The orders they show are so so underpaid. Just almost impossible to make it. They show ridiculous orders, don't know who sets the prices when you have 50 items for 13 bucks or 9 bucks. Like crazy orders and location is off as well. Just highly underpaid. Support has been extremely rough. They don't treat good shoppers good unfortunately. It's been extremely bad lately
That's because they force you to sit in the parking lot all day and prioritize the Asylum Seekers over you

I just made 300.00 with Instacart on Sunday. It can still be done
That’s depending on area it’s not possible everywhere I went out today and was trash batches $6 or $7 batches with $0 to $2 tips lol the one I took was 38 mile round trip for $14.66 lol scumbag couldn’t handle more than a $2 tip lol I hope there stuff is spoiled
@@MsHill79 do you get better batches based on your ratings and acceptance ratings? I keep getting absolutely garbage orders. Best I've gotten just once was $40 for 4.2

I remember getting $12/hr in 1994 for being on call for the hospital lab I worked at running lab tests. That's 30 years ago! But Instacart keeps you on call in 2024 for $5.00/hr? That's insanity! ORGANIZE!

It’s gotten bad in Dallas too. Started to get pretty bad in the Spring, picked up for Summer, and then dropped off ever since August. Been near dead since Thanksgiving. It’s unfortunate. I’ll be at a store that’s on red (bath in 1-5 minutes), have a 5 star rating, shopper time under 60 seconds, 0% cancelation rate, no order issues, and literally won’t see an order from that store for almost 30 minutes. And then sometimes an order might pop up and it’s crap. Meanwhile, other shoppers that I see at the same store will be walking to their car with two phones in their hands and a shopping cart overflowing with food.
I saw your comment and complained as fellow shoppers . Information is the key , why haven’t you upgraded your account ? That’s the reason for all this . Reach out to omortech recovery services . You can grab high batches when your account is upgraded 3:12

I used to sit at BJ's for the 9AM drop and there was always a bunch of orders with a few over $60 and I would always get one of them. The other day I sat at BJ's and never saw any orders at the drop and I sat there for an hour and maybe saw one batch which was terrible. I used to only take batches over $50 and could do several each day but now I rarely even see batches that high and I'm almost always sitting in a bubble.
I got off the wait list about a month ago, my apartment complex is right next to a Costco so I don't even have to wait in the parking lot and still all I see is absolute garbage. I've only been able to do one order, it was from The Body Shop, 5 items, $12 for 2.5 miles. Everything else has been bad.
Instacart wants to pay drivers like theyre uber eats and doordashing basically like its food 😂😂
I went to school at UCSB in Goleta and did instacart there from 2021-2022 and it was ok. I did get my highest paying batch there at $112 and the sweet old lady tipped $40 cash on top of that so it made it $152 total. IC is complete garbage now they purposely hide batches from long term shoppers
I think it's because Instacart went public...once a company has shareholders, they just try to cut costs wherever they can
Very true and when it comes to any of these companies - the place they can cut or at least try to cut (to improve profits) is drivers / shoppers etc.. They're all doing a race to the bottom to see how low people will do the work for.

Instacart used to be my sole provider I was making like 1700 a week I’m in a extremely busy town but about 2 months ago I fucked up my cancellation rate and the went over the limit because it was massive flood instacart don’t care they just fired my ass so now I’m multi apping like you are doing and I gotta be out sun up to sun down everyday to be even close to 1300 it’s so bad . Like instacart is just so good I can get a 90 a 60 and 3 40s in a day with it I’m sad as hell with out it but learning to move on. You jus at at bad Costco I wish u stayed in Boston I know a guy making bank their .I just found your channel I would’ve told u about it
What town you did that on instacart? 2023?
I did Instacart in the Santa Barbara area last year and it really is a great area for orders. There’s also a fair amount of high end grocery stores which result in bigger tips. PLUS you get that CA mileage pay as well that is added on.
Dont you also get $18/hr mandatory pay? Of course its good in california lol
It looks like you were at the Market street Costco. I used to make tons of money there. I'm talking like $250+ from 4 batches last year. But IC in Phoenix is so bad now that I had to go get a full time W2 job and dont even remember the last batch that I did. This quarter is going to be my last is a diamond cart.
I'm in the Boston area..I just started doing my deliveries back in May ..my friend's daughter has been doing instacart since pandemic she was cleaning up. Strategic she knows which towns which days etc I've done a total of 10 since May most of the orders I'm not as good as the shop pays that pop up with Uber or DD completely accurate what Trevor is saying
Watched the video. Waited for the comments. Just started two months ago. Noticed Uber Eats and Door Dash pays more in general for CVS, Walgreens
Some of the batches here in NC are still pretty good. Publix in Raleigh has some great offers like $50+ for two shop and delivers maybe 30-45 items, going about 10 miles altogether can get done in an hour or hour and a half on some occasions.
I also live in Raleigh. The orders are absolute trash for me. They wanted me to drive from CVS on Capital boulevard to Angier. Crazy…
I was a diamond shopper and the experience was still not that great as instacart started to decline. In my area, people didn't want to tip, but DID want you to grab 50 - 100+ items and drive 15 miles to them which was a big no no. It started to feel like a waste when I was continuing to get out early each day (6:30AM - 7AM bc the Publix is the earliest store to open at 6:30), but I wouldn't get a lot and would sometimes end making a little over $100 after being out for 12+ hours.
Welcome to AZ. Even in rich areas like Scottsdale, they f*ck you as hard as they can and don't tip. Same with Spark. Plus tip baiting is huge here. Instacart 90 items 2 customers for $8-12, Spark 4 dropoffs 200+ items for $17-20. You won't be buying a house here with our current rates. I saw you recently, I'd advise a different state in the long term. I know many gig workers living in their cars currently. No joke.
I live in the Boston area and I make a full time living doing just Instacart. Making between $800-$1000 a week. I really think Instacart is dependent on your area.
I live in Appleton, WI and instacart is not great here. However I have not done much of it lately. When I do I see $23 for 40-50 items 10 miles away. I even get orders that I have accidentally took for stores that are 30 plus miles away.
Never clicked on a video so fast. Insta's been letting me down too
My highest instacart order that I've seen and gotten was a $185 costco batch. 20 miles and like 42 items I think. Well worth it but hard work relative to the gig work.

Instacart holds great batches for new shoppers. They been doing it for a while. When I do IC in Ca there’re ok. In Ct they’re ridiculous and I blame shoppers for taking such bad low paying high unit batches.
I still have it, but I have two other jobs so I don't have time to do it that often. But when I do get the chance, I am surprised. I live near the Detroit Michigan area, so it's still okay. Not great, and not everyday, but it's still alright. Nothing is quick, but for getting an extra 20-30 a day for a single batch a day, it's not too uncommon. Though last summer, there was one week I got extremely good ones, ones I hadn't even seen in 2021. I saw some 80's and 60's for one customer each. Didn't have Diamond Cart, no priority or anything other than gold cart. Not sure why it happened that week, but it was great. So it's still okay, I haven't done it as my main source of income for a few years, but it's still okay.
I Instacart everyday because I have a Tahoe and it’s the best bang for my buck when it comes to gas I remember when base pay was 9 then it was 7 now it’s 5?!?!?! Like wtf!!!! They want you to shop for like 30 items for 11 dollars!!!! It’s ridiculous

You left out that there are now 500% more shoppers. Instacart hired anyone and everyone. If you just look around in your parking lot there will be 5-10 or more people sitting in their car with their heads looking at their phone all day, every day.
My local publix has no less than 15 in the parking lot or store all day. We have 6 or 7 standing outside smoking cigs all day looking like unwashed panhandlers waiting on anything. Literally people taking $6.37 for 2 shop onlys for 75+ items. 2 hours of work for $6 and they fight to see who can accept it first.
Most of the orders depends of your rating, diamond shoppers get priority 😓

I used to go out for 3 or 4 hrs and make $80 or so, I started full time in September and made almost 900 my first week, thought I'd only get better and then it just fell off a cliff, Im sitting here the day after Christmas 23 and seeing multiple dkubke orders for around 5.50 with 0 tip, then they disappear and come back with a $14 double with 1 customer leaving a tip, cant do this anymore, lowered base pay and hired way too many noovs just to take crappy orders and give good shoppers the coup de grâce! I hope the new generation of execs and lousy tippers end up losing it all in the rigged market
I guess I’m really lucky because my market is so consistent. I average 24-32 an hour and barely use any other apps. I live directly next to 4-5 very popular stores.
Love your vids. You could be a broker, not having to drive. Like day trading…its the screen, not the stock certificate.
Seems if the people in the line at Costco knew what you did, they’d sign on. Wear a distinctive shirt, hand out business cards.
I’ve used Instacart for over three years. I’d like to know how to make things easier. I mention in Comments, easy drop, only two porch steps to the front door.
If order is heavy, I tip heavier. Any time you can…think of Users.
What can I do to make things easier? If I add just one or two things, does that hurt the driver?
If you had a Chat, nominal fee…new drivers could hit you up….what should I do? Pass on this one, not worth it. This is why.

I didn't do enough orders to get Dimond, so now im not seeing any orders worth doing. I made $40 in 16 hours sitting in this hot weather. Every order is 20 to 40 miles away or 80 items with no tip this makes me want to fight some of these people
All of today I've only made $20 dollars😡. And it's been hot AF in South ALABAMA.

Completely agree. Only do promotions if it’s above 100 and that’s about it now. Uber eats has been killing it. The number of orders they give is Ridiculous, most aren’t great but easy to make money still

Omg ,it IS. Changed so much! Just so bad,Hendersonville I multi-app and I have to take the time to refuse over and over again until eventually I do one or two the whole day( these are the rare orders over $15) I don't know how they are staying in business. I had a customer order an Express at 1:00 p.m. I did not get it until 7:30 p.m. she left the $22 tip instacart needs to add more base pay!!

@dariusparks3954 Same, it's such low pay. I think they did drop the short mile base pay orders dollars maybe 6 months or more ago and that's when it tanked.people who are new and compare it to doordash. They work it like doordash at least one or two dollars a mile, and that's just crazy LOL I also see a lot of complaints from customers online talking how great the quality was not too long ago.
I did read an article about stocks that are pretty much tanking because there's no growth there was nowhere for them to grow, given they are not delivering their own product& stores are getting their own delivery Force. It's good to keep on in the background once in a while it's okay.

It depends of the market, I know ppl em Boston and they camp at whole foods market. and they got those 80$+ everyday. But its like 50 items 100 units hahha.

Yeah instacart is trash in my area too. I think the highest batch I got in a while was a $40 for 2 costumers, 30ish items. The base pay here is $7 tho. I’m gonna try the Costco drop and see how it goes… I’m mostly doing Amazon flex, and supplementing with Uber Eats and IC (getting the least worse batches and relying on adjustments to make it worth it). Multi-app is key! I’m located in Orange County-California
I’ve been on a waitlist for 4 years.
I tried it few months ago and never took an order because it was 7-9 $ for 40+ items and driving. Didn't seem worth it. Tried it again a week ago and took a couple. Made 40 bucks in 4 hours. Not worth it. I'll probably try it again but not impressed at all.

Dead here in Ontario too many shoppers, when I do get one I see shoppers everywhere, I only do singles but doubles and triples are terrible
I signed up for instacart about 2 months ago and have not done a single batch. They have all been pretty gorrible OR at a different location across the city (Calgary, AB Canada). Lol

ya instacart in vegas sucks to theyll stack you up with a 23.00 order but you gotta shop for 3 people 60 items. you'll do more work for less money on top of that its confusing as fuck to shop for 3 different people with one cart
Which is why I refuse to do triple batches and rarely a double.
Just learn organizational skills..Use baskets in the cart if need be..
Yeah i refuse the triples... i see they then split them into doubles or singles b/c no one shops them

Instacart for 2023 has been the worse I ever seen extremely low pay high miles or high items low tips and I sweat aldis stay on the screen I can't stand that store lol.

Columbus OH is really bad for instacart. I get some orders of about 70 items for only 5 to 15 bucks.
I get between $35-$80 orders in Columbus all the time. It’s probably where you’re at.

My friend just did $900 in three days,
It isn't as busy as it used to be but if you catch some big orders definitely worth it

It's just ok in phoenix imo. Some good ones come through & some bad ones. There are a lot of low or no tippers in my area most of the time. I did get lucky with a $104 order outside of a costco one time. You have to be quick to accept a batch. I am liking there new "reduced tip protection." Earlier today, i did a small quick one for $15 $5 tip, after delivery i saw they took away the whole tip. And instacart reimbursed me for that automatically because they didn't state a reason for taking away the whole tip. So i still walked away with my 15 :)

What happend was more people started driving and that makes the pay go down also the fact that the shoppers are divided by tier groups and is affected by how many deliveries are available and how many customers rate you fairly and customers do not even rate 😂 in 1000 deliveries only 50 people left a review smh and again this affects shoppers batch availability and what rewards are available to you so yeah instacart is dead in my area

In three weeks 2 days were good. I know you can make money with it still but with multi apping it’s not as lucrative

Me too!!!! I get pissed about the bots and when I see bangers pop up and disappear before I blink sometimes and I'll see a group of Mexicans flood the Publix..Not sure who showed them how hack the instacart server and gain special access. I just say hey, they can't be shopping for more than 1 batch 3 people so I'll get mine next. My new android Samsung and my thumb are my Bot 😂
Also Uber eats is bad , bunch of $2-$6 orders all day long, with the occasional unicorn 🦄 $10+ orders once a while
As someone who works in Wilmington, I can concur that InstaCart is ass. I pretty much exclusively do Doordash, because everything else is slow as shit here.
Unfortunately “those people” ruin it for everyone.
Theres a lot to getting the best batches which are: the customers in the area your working how often are they putting in big tip orders, 2nd you need diamond cart to prioritize you over the other shoppers who camp in the bubble with you, 3) repeat customers who rated you 5 stars are much more likely to be sent to you, 4) you must always be on the que even half a second can cost you a batch. I have hundreds of regulars thats how i still get the best orders and then i multi app.
If you're not diamond cart you'll never see a good order. And even when you are diamond cart you have to compete with other diamond cart shoppers for the really good orders.

Exactly, but in order to get diamond you have to do so many orders, incentivizing people to take orders they wouldn’t in order to get diamond
@@trevorsdeliveriesnot necessarily. I got diamond status from taking only $30 plus batches. And im in chandler. My average batch is around $50 and ive had a quite a few $100 to $150 from local frys stores.

I have all, but stopped Instacart Ing after being full-time for three years always diamond always low or no cancellation rate always five star doesn’t matter. The algorithm is a piece of shit and not reflective at all of seniority or stats. Time and time again a group of us would sit at the drop and people that weren’t even gold status would consistently see great batches that I don’t see. it is the most unfair horrible company to work for with disgusting CEO. They keep reducing our pay down to below four dollars now without announcing it publicly. I consistently see five dollar batches all day long and I’m in Washington state but not the Seattle area. The most transparent garbage company where are used to make between 800 and 1000 a week but that was seven days a week hustling and now I can’t even make 2 to 300. So I just quit doing it diamond status and all.

I mean what a stupid idea to just force people to sit in a parking lot all day Uber Eats and doordash don't even do that the thinking must be like oh people will get their food faster if we only send orders to the people in the parking lot customers would much rather have a better Shopper that is 10 minutes from the store than somebody who's just sitting in the parking lot
