How to do an One-Way ANOVA in JASP (12-8)

- We are off to see the wizard with an example of a one-way (factorial) ANOVA involving wicked witches and munchkins. We open a .CSV dataset in JASP, check the assumptions of homogeneity of variance and normality, conduct the test, interpret the results, and write up the findings in APA style. I include a discussion of eta squared vs. partial eta squared effect size for one way ANOVA.
Download the Friendly, Free, Flexible, Functional JASP software from the official JASP statistics website: jasp-stats.org
This video teaches the following commands and techniques in JASP:
Importing a CSV into JASP
One Way Factorial ANOVA
Eta squared effect size
This video uses the dataset WickedWitch.csv and JASP version 11.1
Link to a Google Drive folder with all of the files that I use in the videos including spreadsheets, the Bear Handout, and the WickedWitch.csv dataset. As I add new files, they will appear here, as well.

To download, hover your cursor over the file icon and a blue download icon will appear. You do not need to request access to a file.
Thank you very much professor!
Thank you. Very useful.
Thank you, very useful !!
You are welcome!
You're a life saver.
Glad to hear it. Wish you the best with your stats course
Cute example and great video, thanks. JASP is a lot of fun compared to the commercial packages.
It really is! Thanks for the comment
Thanks so much.
Thank you. JazakALLAH.
Always welcome
Hello, thank you for the great video. Is there a way to get the lettering for the homogeneous subsets automatically in JASP (like in SPSS for example)?
Quick question. I love your classes. I am in an internship now. Even though I own SPSS I don’t like it as much as I do R. My main question I also prefer jamovi ver Jasp. Have you tried it and What do think compared to jasp. Jamovi aloes me to use R to code with the app. I would love to talk some time. Keep up the classes.

I like both jamovi and JASP and I use both. They each have strengths and I use the one that works best for my particular need at the time. There is much to recommend jamovi, especially the way it creates R code the way that SPSS creates a syntax file. They were started on the same software and split into separate projects, so if you learn one, you pretty much know the other.
i can use 0.05 for decision right? even though 0.01 is frequently stated in the table?
Thank you! How do you do 2 dependent variables?
If you have two DVs, the you would need to do an MANOVA. Unfortunately, I do not have a video on that, but I know that others do. Good luck
Second question, Do we need to levene test before going to ANNOVA? If it is not significant, Does it mean within the group no variations or between the group no variations?
You can do the Levene test while you are doing the ANOVA (or t test). If it is ns, then carry on. If it is significant, you should switch to the Welch's alternative.
@@ResearchByDesign Thanks Sir
I really like the function of “Descriptives plots”, but sometimes I want to adjust the scale line on the x or y axis, I don't know how to do, can you help me, thank you!
This is an upcoming video that shows some techniques for editing charts using the Chart Editor. Look at the description to see where the bar chart editing begins. Hopefully, it will help: ruclips.net/video/aOZ56S4YSeY/видео.html
@@ResearchByDesign Thanks, but I mean it in JASP, not in SPSS
Do you plan to do a JASP video on repeated measures ANOVA? Please🙏🏻
Sir, Great. Is Jasp is freely available?
Yes, it is. There is a link to the site in the video description.
@@ResearchByDesign Thanks Sir
Hello sir, how to do a two-way?
I don't have a video about two-way ANOVA (although I really need to do one). I would suggest Laerd Statistics for some excellent tutorials that will walk you through the procedure. Here is a video about them: ruclips.net/video/dDaudJm8Tco/видео.html
@@ResearchByDesign Comparing with other youtubers, your interpretation is very clear with the progress on the screen. It is looking forward you make it one day.
