I bought the newer run version of the summer jacket, the zipper problem is fixed and I got it for 40 dollars, half the price! When the small size was on sale.

All M41 had/have super long sleeves. It's the nature of the beast. If you look at the original QM photos of them the models are almost always wearing them with the sleeve cuffs buttoned up closed. Parsons and the Army patterned them after the "new, in style" 1930's windbreaker jackets, so perhaps the civilian versions of the "windbreaker" were worn with the cuffs button adjusted closed the "break the wind" from going up your arms. The sleeve ends do seem to have a large tube opening to be wearing them open, like we style jackets today.

I believe it may have to do with tolerances for tailoring. Back during the war, military clothing, as well as most civilian clothing of the time, were made to be tailored to the wearer to achieve a neater and more uniform look. ATF mightve modeled theirs off of an unissued model which had yet to be tailored in order to give a "newly issued" product example.

I want to get a jacket but the problem is that I don't know what size to get. Also I love your videos!

Compared to the ones from that era you’d say sizing is the same ??
& also I see smallest is either 36-38 but measurements are 19-22 in chest are they meant to be like that , similar to that of a parka sizing ??

Not impressed with the current At the Front M41 jacket. Lightweight shell and the lining is cotton flannel. Seems like they are getting further and further away from the original materials. I heard last year that Buzz Rickson was supposed to come back with THEIR version of the M41, but I guess that got shelved.

any idea how WPG's (What Price Glory) M41 jackets are in terms of durability? Their M43's are okay

There M41 jackets are... meh. Serviceable. Now their greatcoats are impeccable! I bought the 1907, 1902, 1938 Roll Collar, P40! Their woolen greatcoats are thr best, weighing roughly over 6 pounds.

What size would fit me if I’m a medium regular?

ElectroWolf it’s best to measure your chest size.

Summer variant isn't any better. Shell is way too thin and so it wear in too fast
