That is what Patchouli doesn't understand due to her misunderstanding of Science though luckily she isn't alone in that misunderstanding. If people could use elemental magic and it went against the laws of physics and there isn't a way to write the laws of physics around it without specifically stating that elemental magic would be the exception then that would make magic and science separate. The difference with gravity is that gravity makes sense and work in tandem with other forces making it not magic.
The face she makes here sums up the nightmare she is absolutely perfectly. Yumemi is, and by very far, Touhou's hardest final boss. And unfortunately, mostly because of unfair, cheating AI and random bullets.

@Terraria Heaven That's a good question. It's swapped languages and frameworks over the years. It's had forms in Godot and primarily GameMaker:Studio. Now we're not sure what direction to take with its engine, but I have some potential plans. I appreciate the offer for help, but we have quite a few hands on deck...possibly too many! Not counting bad apple or several arranges of tracks like maiden's capriccio or casket of star, this is the first PC-98 track to hit a million views, more than deserved.
Nahh, I think he got better. This theme does show promise but it is too repetitive with that downward descend note arpeggio section. Don't get me wrong, I love some of the 98 tracks, like dream land, lotus love, Alice maestra, inevitably forbidden game, sleeping terror, inanimate dream, etc. But his windows themes are just better in general. His works from touhou 6 to 12 being my favourite, touhou 13 to 18 do have some bangers but I usually find myself only liking 30 % of the newer game pieces, whereas the old games i usually like 90 % of any given ost or the whole thing (the entirety of PCB slaps, everything in SA does tok except i just don't like stage 2s theme from that game)
Zun's been collectig sidegrades. Sidegrade- likean upgrade but instead of being inherintly superior or inferior, is a close to equal change still distinct from the previous.

She's probably my favourite too. She has the position of ninth boss in a Touhou game only matched by Shiki Eiki, and she has no magic so she does it all by science which is amazing, and she has a great design on top of that!

One time after waking up from blacking out for no reason at all, the first thing I thought off is Yumemi and her theme, so while I was gaining back vision and consciousness this theme played the entire time
I think out of every PC-98 theme this is the one remembered for going hard alone. Compared to every other pc-98 themes that either end up being tied to a character that is still remembered today or is tied to a popular arrange that people comeback to the original just to listen, this one is beyond perfect alone and is a hell of a banger even today.
If only one character could be brought back from this Era, I’d definitely vote for Yumemi. I feel like she’d be the only one to give Reimu hell to try and stop her. Like, enough hell to fight her as the Stage 3, 5, AND 6 boss. XD

JUST finished my first 1cc of a touhou game in the 4 year history of me playing them....and it was PoDD, with Mima on easy....on my phone using RetroArch.....the tiny screen was a pain in the ass but you have NO idea how satisfying it is to beat the toughest boss in all of touhou with one life left on a tiny ass screen....I would have screamed if my friend wasnt calling someone XD

Well historically, crosses were used for crucifixions (ie nailing someone up and leaving them until they either bleed to death or suffocate), so. Sure nowadays they're more just a religious symbol for Christianity, but even then, biblical texts use the cross exclusively for execution.
From the farthest reaches of Gensokyo, an old enemy returns to continue what she could not finish years ago. Enter Yumemi, the brightest mind of Gensokyo, plagued by a delusion of progress at any cost. Can Reimu finish the work from all those years ago?
I'm gonna be perfectly honest, I have yet to even make it past Chiyuri on normal. So if Yumemi is said to be even worse... That terrifies me! That thought legitimately terrifies me! Edit: Finally got past Chiyuri, and... Yeah. Yumemi is just as bad as I could've imagined. I had four lives going in, and she easily wiped through all of them. She's just as bad, if not even worse than Shikieiki. Though, I did manage to get her down to half a heart on my final life, so... That's something.

How I love her so :3 She's probably my favorite character in Touhou, or at least up there
She's probably my favourite too. She has the position of ninth boss in a Touhou game only matched by Shiki Eiki, and she has no magic so she does it all by science which is amazing, and she has a great design on top of that!

YUMEMI OKAZAKI
She teaches comparative physics at a university. She doesn't look like it, but she's already 18, which is quite young to be a professor. In Yumemi's world, all the forces such as gravity, electromagnetism, and atomic power have been resolved under a unified theory, which has been proven to explain all known forces in the world. Yumemi believes there may be a force that doesn't fit in this theory - "magic". However, when she announced her theory to the academic community, she became a laughing stock.
Yumemi came to this world to get even with the academy, but...
ZUN's comment about the track:
"Well, I guess this is the last boss theme. I had a hard time with this one. Well, it turned out, so I guess it went well in the end. Since all the other characters' songs were pretty cool, I worked hard at this one. I ended up using a guitar-like sound, which I don't do often. And, the main part(?)'s melody was supposed to be really high-class, but. Maybe it's not?"

I think out of every PC-98 theme this is the one remembered for going hard alone. Compared to every other pc-98 themes that either end up being tied to a character that is still remembered today or is tied to a popular arrange that people comeback to the original just to listen, this one is beyond perfect alone and is a hell of a banger even today.

perhaps it's a return to the Yuuka format(boss in the final 2 levels, but adding her to stage 3 would be even odder)

JUST finished my first 1cc of a touhou game in the 4 year history of me playing them....and it was PoDD, with Mima on easy....on my phone using RetroArch.....the tiny screen was a pain in the ass but you have NO idea how satisfying it is to beat the toughest boss in all of touhou with one life left on a tiny ass screen....I would have screamed if my friend wasnt calling someone XD

Well historically, crosses were used for crucifixions (ie nailing someone up and leaving them until they either bleed to death or suffocate), so. Sure nowadays they're more just a religious symbol for Christianity, but even then, biblical texts use the cross exclusively for execution.

I'm gonna be perfectly honest, I have yet to even make it past Chiyuri on normal. So if Yumemi is said to be even worse... That terrifies me! That thought legitimately terrifies me!
Edit: Finally got past Chiyuri, and... Yeah. Yumemi is just as bad as I could've imagined. I had four lives going in, and she easily wiped through all of them. She's just as bad, if not even worse than Shikieiki. Though, I did manage to get her down to half a heart on my final life, so... That's something.
