If you watch closely he uses body language signals to the camera man. We do this for our channel as well and works great, but the camera person does have to pay attention to everything going on - can be difficult

@@hereinsertname It's not Konami's fault, the way the ghost rares are makes them very fragile and delicate and those lines appear on a lot of cards but they show up the most of ghost rares because of how the card is printed. Konami has little control over what the printing machines do in the print shops, it also explains why people find misprints in their packs. Everything from missing names and letters to misaligned artwork and of course the print lines. It really sucks but if Konami could fix it they would.

So, I’m noticing on a bunch of early openings where both Ras comes from the same box. Haven’t seen enough to call it an official trend, but it’s happened in a few videos posted by other Yugi-tubers.

Marik’s story is a very sad one. The poor kid was born into a family that was charged with the duty of guarding the pharaohs tomb until his return. They lived underground, completely isolated from the world. His mother died after she had given birth to baby Marik and his father was left to raise Marik, along with his adoptive brother Odion and his older sister Ishizu on his own. Years passed and as Marik’s 12th birthday neared, His father planned on putting his son through the Tombkeepers initiation. Marik would be charged with carrying the secret to the pharaoh’s power on his back. But Marik wanted to create his own destiny instead of having his father dictate it for him. Odion promised that he would always protect Marik, so he went before his father to plead with him that he become the Tombkeeper instead of Marik. But for whatever reason (I believe it’s because he could never see Odion as a son to him just because he wasn’t blood) Marik’s father refused Odion’s offer and upon Marik’s 12th birthday his father forced his son to take the initiation. Marik’s life was changed forever because of his father’s cold will and a darkness began to take root in him from that point on. A few years later Marik and Ishizu wanted to go see the outside world if only for a few hours. Odion promised he would cover for them and out they went. While they were out they ran into a stranger who told them that their destinies were about to change forever and that the pharaoh would soon return. Scared and confused by what the stranger had said, Ishizu decided that it was time for them to return home. When they got back Ishizu noticed a device on the door, she recognized as some sort of alarm which she had tripped when they left. The 2 of them rushed inside to find that their father had discovered that they had left and punished Odion for his involvement by weakening him the power of the Millennium Rod (1 of 2 ancient items that the family had in their possession that could control dark shadow magic). Their father, furious with his children’s decision to break the rules, decided to make Odion leave them forever. But before he could enforce his will Marik’s darkness (feed by his anger towards his father) gained enough strength to take control of Marik’s body, claim the Millennium Rod as his own, restrain both his father and sister, and banished his father (soul only) to the shadow realm (a realm of endless darkness and despair, the birthplace of Duel Monsters) forever. The Dark Marik (or as I liked to call it “the shadow fiend”) wanted to stay in control so it intended to send Odion to the shadows, but Odion was able to reach through to the true Marik. The true Marik, now returned, had no memory of what his other self had done and before he could see his father’s body Odion shielded him from it to protect him. Then from nowhere the stranger Marik had met appeared before him and told Marik to turn back from his dark path because the pharaoh would soon return and he wouldn’t have to bare his family burden for long. But again, Marik had had no memory of what he had done (because Odion had shielded him from the truth) and for many years he believed that it was the stranger who had destroyed his father. His resentment towards his family’s duty continued to grow until he came to the conclusion that he should be pharaoh instead of some ancient king. After all, why serve some nobody when you have the secret to his power and take it for yourself.
That is, more or less, the origin story of Marik (and Dark Marik).

I just started collecting yugioh cards a couple months ago after probably nearly 15 years after I sort of grew out of it. I bought half a dozen of these booster packs as well as the freezing chains structure deck just for the fun of it and I got the alternate art winged dragon of ra in the second pack 😂

Marik was born and raised to eventually be a tomb keeper to await the pharaohs return but he longed to see the outside world and after he did he became resentful knowing he was doomed to be a tomb keeper someday. ultimately he was fed up with his so called destiny causing his evil side to take over and murdered his father, freeing marik from becoming a tomb keeper but marik blamed the death of his father on the Pharaoh not knowing his evil half was responsible and swore to take revenge on the Pharaoh and take his power
I got myself a case that hopefully will ship as soon as possible so I can get my hands on a ghost Ra as it will become my most valuable card next to my Chamber Dragonmaid Starlight rare 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This just seems like a really bad way to spend your money. In a casino if you put $100 on red you have like a 48% chance of doubling your money. If you buy an overpriced box from this guys store your probably loosing 50% of your money when you open the box. Buy singles to play the game.

Just like in the cartoon/anime, there are cards that are so rare and hard to come across they want that same feeling transitioned into real life. It's NOT supposed to be where everyone is able to buy an entire case or 2 with 40 booster boxes. NO! You're supposed to go to the store and pick up if not 1 then a few packs and if you're lucky enough you can get a cool full booster box! Or you go to the card shop and you might have enough to get 2 or 3 pricey singles and be proud of what you got. You might be that kid that's lucky enough to come across, in this case, the ghost rare RA and now everyone wants to trade you for it while you feel amazing that it's in your hands / showing it off to your friends. That's also what creates diversity in the game because you have to play with what you have, not just buy out everything awesome because people like you think of this as gambling or wanting scalp people.
Your view on trading cards is so warped its hilarious, you're talking like its an investment but mad that it's actually gambling.
If you're buying yugioh cards for a profit than yes you are right, obviously because at that point it's 100% gambling. But you must have a gambling issue if you're mad that buying a booster box can have a diminishing return.

"Buy singles to play the game" this is why we have microtransactions. People who started buying singles to play are the reason card prices sky-rocketed since its just who ever has the most money. If people stopped buying singles over $10 than they would never be over that price. The community with that mind set influenced those prices.

Marik Ishtar was born in a family that protected the prescious millennium items. That were waiting for the pharroh return. Marik didn't want the life of a tombkeeper. But his father was a angry and vicious man that made him go through a ritual to become a toomkeeper. Through that ritual was a dark side born inside of Marik. Marik kills his father. And nearly almost killed his friend odion. But once he saw odion that darkness went away.

I'm still in aw that I'm watching the simplyunlucky for years ago. Now opening ghost rare Yu-Gi-Oh cards
I just realised that here in Ireland this is the first new singles packs we got since Ignition Assault all the way back in like March or whatever. A couple of individual stores around the country were able to order them in online but official sellers like Game Stop have missed everything due to covid. No Toons, no Eternity Code, no Rise of the Duelist.....NOTHING!! Dragons of Legend was the first NEW item of any description I was able to get in my little town. If we enter lockdown again and I miss out on much more I may have to emigrate to America.
Merik's backstory was the tomb keepers initiation. The tomb keepers had to wait for the Pharoh's return, however they had been waiting for a long time already. Merik did not want to be a tomb keeper so he resented the Pharoh and Yami Merik was created.
this brings up so many memories, i can literally smell these cards. miss those times !

Pretty much Marik was the son of the Gravekeeper for the Pharaoh's Tomb, but he didn't want to live his life underground serving the Pharaoh for eternity so he took the Millenium Rod, killed his father with the sharp point hidden on the bottom of the rod and left the tomb with his servant and protector, Odion.
Pulled the alternate art Ra today, Ancient chant, sun god unification, guardian slime, and then pulled a holofoil “discard” test print card. Have never seen something like that but from what little there is online about it, guess they are supposed to toss those during the printing process and they are pretty rare to find in a pack.
