  • Woodshops often end up with that pile of offcut pieces of wood that we are sure we'll make something from eventually. Why not make some customized bottle openers to sell or give as gifts! I'll walk through the set up in Vectric Vcarve, cut them out on a bench top CNC from Genmitsu, then customize them on the xTool F1 laser.
    Interested in the cut file for these blanks? I've got them posted in my Etsy shop! vintaurisworkshop.etsy.com/li...

      Love your bits Cody! I've been running them in my various CNC's for a while, got my Bowl and Tray Bit ordered and you've already shipped it! I can't wait to play around with that. I'll post some projects with that in this and the OneFinity as well.

    You make it look so easy! Recently got the 4040pro, but haven't tried pockets yet. Baby steps.

      The 4040 is a good machine to learn on. Take on some simple projects and get a feel for it and you'll find yourself making some pretty cool items in no time!

      Well they are fun to have and open up more options, but they are very noisy and create a lot of chips / dust.

      @@Vintauri Unfortunately I don’t have room for a cnc but would love to have a real workshop!

    I did some round bottle openers back in Feb with the Longmill. I did not show how I designed them though. I need to start doing better.

      It's always fun finding the balance between too much information and a long video vs not enough. Just have to keep putting stuff out there and refining it over time!

    Great video as usual I have the Genmitsu PROVerXL 6050 Plus
    it's definitely good to have both the Laser and CNC to work with I will get the file from etsy and make a few of these for gifts

      Thanks Russ! I'm glad to be jumping back into it with this machine to get more projects like this out there. It's a good benchtop machine so far and with the trim router installed, I can push it even harder. Although getting dust collection going is going to be high on my list of projects for this now.

      I understand about dust collection especially with painting projects while trying to CNC I invested in the CENTRAL MACHINERY 35 Gallon, 2 HP High-Flow High-Capacity Dust Collector from Harbor Freight

    For through cuts I personally set the depth to “z” because I sometimes change the thickness of the material and forget to change the cut depth, this way when calculating Vcarve will automatically change the through cut depth

      I've done that on some projects to set the zero to the waste board, it can help ensure a clean cut and minimal abuse to your waste board.

    Nice simple project. How are you liking the Bauer. Guessing with the Nema 23’s on that machine, you could probably get upwards of 60” per minute or more. Thanks for sharing

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  6 месяцев назад

      The Bauer is still in the testing phase. I'm watching it to make sure it does not over heat, or start fluctuating in speed too much. But so far, as I dial in my speeds and feeds, its working pretty well. I'm going to play with some trays and small boxes that should allow me to push the speeds around a bit.

      @@Vintauri I have a belt driven desktop cnc with low torque nema 17 steppers and I am pretty comfortable with 40 ipm with a qtr inch endmill and also a bowl and tray bit. I use openbuilds to operate it and it allows me to up the speed during cuts and I have been as fast as 48 ipm. Good luck and thanks for the cnc content
