The standard Sirius rifle is the M1917 in .30-06. This looks like an M1C sniper rifle. It should be noted that Sirius also has depots with combat weapons (the M1917 is mostly for animals) and the M1 Garand was the standard Danish service rifle at the time, the G3 was only adopted in 1975 and the M1 remained in rearline use at least until the 1990s. So it could either just be showing off for the camera or taken from one of the depots. I haven’t seen or heard about M1s in Sirius use before.
@@Naltddesha I tried to look this up, but the only modern source I could find said the lead dog (bas) should be male or female. Note that the lead dog is not the same as the alpha dog, so perhaps that’s why the lead dog needs to be female when the alpha is often male. The lead dog is more of a technical position that takes care of driving, the social leader would still be the alpha. It’s pretty hard to find sources on stuff like this, because Sirius often have their own doctrine compared to the Inuits, and even they are hard to find litterature about.
That’s my Dad Ib Hedegaard Jensen ❤️
Amazingly, the boys are dressed in combat uniforms m.58 for polar climate service! woow!
That looks like it was an M1 Garand, not the M1903 the are famous for.

Are there any more episodes to this?
No.

Can anyone explain why the lead dog should “preferably be female”? I never would have guessed that
