    I love the music bar. You can see each glissando coming and you can see how he nails it. You also see the interesting slurring of the same note. Both are very hard to do and as a trombone player, you don't see glissandos written into music until you get to higher levels.
    As a trombone player, the first time you play a glissando...not for fun...but actually written into the music...it is a great thing. Your feeling is "this is what the trombone is all about".

    I may not know much about Jazz, from its artists, or hell, even the songs, but it's one of those genres that I absolutely love everything it has to offer and I can never go wrong by listening to it.

    • @Suplex479
      @Suplex479 2 года назад +2

      Depends, it's easier to play Mary had a little lamb than transcribing it but it's easier to transcribe some flashy Liszt piece than it is to play it

    • @simonlutgens
      @simonlutgens 2 года назад +2

      @@Suplex479 Yeah but sometimes a player can spit out an amazing lick just in the heat of the moment and it can be very hard to figure out exactly what was being played

    • @OrbiliusMagister
      @OrbiliusMagister 2 года назад +1

      It depends on your search for literal transcription. In this one George tried to catch many of the licks and embellishments without notating microtonal slurs or cluttering the result. And finally something of what you hear about the swing or the blue notes *is not meant to be notated*: this is the actual difficulty.
