  • My Roborock S7 was having problems picking up dirt and hair. It would run fine but the dust bin would barely have anything in it, only some in the front.
I followed several full cleaning and maintenance tutorials but nothing fixed it, until after poking around I found this air intake hole completely clogged!

This video helped immensely. Hilarious that Roborock itself doesn't even have this as a solution. My machine is purring like a new kitten. THANK YOU for this video.

Thank you so much for this! Roborock needs to add this to the maintenance schedule. It really makes a big difference.

BLESS YOU!!! This has made the biggest difference by far! I probably needlessly replaced a bunch of parts before finding this! May you live a lifetime of happiness!!

After replacing one Roborock (thanks to their support for that), I started having the same issue on the new one. Thank you very much!!

Don't know exactly how the dust/debris got there, but unclogging it turned my S7 MaxV back into a beast again. Thank you!

Great video. I was just getting ready to contact Roborock support to get mine replaced under warranty because it had lost all its suction. I wonder if there is any easy way to get into that filter and maybe take it out and wash it? I'm sure it needs a good cleaning. I'm surprised this leaks so much dirt past the main filter that it even gets plugged up. I wonder how we can find and fix where it's leaking?

    Thank you for the video.
I have both the S7 and S7 vmax and experienced similar issue. Not completely stuck like in your case, but enough that i had to run the motor on medium or high, where it before sucked up everything in silent mode.
I do wonder how it gets so clogged there though, as i always use a handheld vacuum cleaner to clean out the room where the dust bin goes after emptying the bin and cleaning the filter and particles surely shouldn't get past the hepa filter. I guess it must not be properly sealed either between the dust bin and the vacuum cleaner or between the filter and the dust bin.
I'm glad they put a mesh there in front of the motor too at least. After all, that dust have to go somewhere, and if not stopped by that mesh filter, it could go in the motor and clog it up instead, which would be a lot more work to clean up for sure as it would requite disassembling of the machine.

Thanks for this. Thing was driving me bonkers. Dust/dog hair would always be half in the dust bin instead of in the actual bin. What a goofy design putting an internal screen in there...

Besides cleaning this place again and again, do you have any hint how to secure it from reocurring? I mean - I guess intake force leaks somewhere between dust bin and the vacuum. Fixing it would save us from the need to clean that place again.

Got a problem with a cleaning station for Q7 Max. Lately it leaves lots of dirt in my Q7, like it lost its suction power. Any ideas what can be wrong? Dirt bag is filled in 20% only.
