I need a robot to clean my cleaning robot.
I need a supervisor robot that can supervise the cleaner robot
Me too! I wonder if there is any gadgets that would help with this, especially to suck out the dirt on the rubber brush.
I wipe mine and then wash it once a week and set it to dry near a window.
🤣
Still waiting for this invention.. Ended up buying a mini cleaning kit online.
The maxV new dock partially does that
thank you for the extremely clean presentation of how to maintain the roborock .
Thanks for watching, glad it was helpful!
exactly the same thing is shown in the manual
Thank you so much. This is by far the best instructional video that I have run across dealing with my Roborock S7. I had several issues understanding the manual as a majority of it did not explain exactly how to clean the Main brush😅😊 I am going to save your instructional video for later periodic maintenance.
Big thanks! Was quite scary removing the front wheel, since it sat so tight, but you gave me the courage!
Thanks you ! You're one among rares to show how to unmount the omnidirectional wheel.
I didn't dare to force with my screwdriver, and didn't know if the WHOLE wheel (the circular part, rotating) should be leveraged too.
Hopefully this video was here. So many thanks.
You are welcome!
It made my life ! Lol. I sit back and watch my house get dust free! Feels so clean. Thanks for the video too.
Excellent instructions on how to clean my Roborock Q7 Max. I went and got the pad out of the trash as I didn't know I could wash it. Thank you!!!!!!!
Very helpful video, thanks for making this. I just got a Roborock T7 and it's basically the same machine, so this was a useful reference point. Your instructions were clear and the video's well edited.
The only thing in the video I'd change is don't wash the filter, it clogs it up and doesn't remove dust. Use a proper vacuum or brush to get the dust off the filter. Or get some cheap replacement filters, and replace the filters more regularly. The Roborock subreddit has some good tips.
Can you give link to such post ?
you never should clean the filter with water, either used compressed air or reverse a your vacuum cleaner. with water it will create mud and once dry, the performance will drop significantly including loudness increase.
Leaving a comment just in case anyone runs into a similar problem: I was receiving error 18 (fan error). If the air filter gets too dirty, that can be one potential cause of the fan error because the fan isn't able to pull enough air. I followed the procedure described here to clean the filter and dustbin, and the error went away. Great video!
Great demonstration! Now I can clean every detail without being afraid to break anything. Thanks 🤗🕊️
What wonderfully demonstrated and explained instructions! Thank you so much for these; it’s good to be educated on how to maintain this expensive little lifesaver! I love mine - a later model, but anyway. Just awesome. Have a lovely day! 😊
Great RUclips tutorial. Clear, and helped us work out how to clip back in the housing for main brush. THANKS.
My S7+ is one of the best purchases I've made. Love it
Yes
Thanks for such a simple demonstration you make this so easy. We love our Q7 and cleaning it for the first time today was so easy. 👍
Thank you so much, you explained everything perfectly. You’re a life saver!
it is much better to blow out the filters with, for example, a compressor. if you rinse it with water, you might as well seal it with wet dust.
I'm so pumped to get my S7 this weekend! Thx for the helpeful video!
Thanks for posting this video I really don’t have anything else to do at home besides exercise and play video games, so I can do anything and clean my Roborock vaccum
Thanks for the tutorial. One tip from my side: be 100 percent sure that the filter is really dry after rinsing. Inserted mine after 1 day, seemed not to be totally dry and that killed my s7 😂
Just ordered mine, S7 plus! I can't wait, I ordered 3 washable mop heads, 2 washable filters and 12 bags for the auto bin lol
Looks like you will be all set for a well maintained robot for a good 12 months!
I have been maintaining it from day one like this. People should be proactive
Thank you 😊. Doing some maintenance on both of mine today!
Thanks for this video, we have an S6 MaxV and Wow! Very impressed how well it does. Videos like yours are very helpful & much easier to understand than the hard to read papers it came with. Need a magnifying glass to read the tiny letters. 😂 Cheers!
Thanks for watching! My parents have the S6 MaxV and thats what got me convinced with robot vacuums. Its a great machine!
Fantastic cleaning and maintenance video! Thank you.
Thank you for a very clear explanation on maintaining roborock
Yes
Very informative and helpful video! Thank you so much!
Really helpful demo of removing and reinstalling the main brush. But I'd advise against wetting metal components, or running water through a filter containing loose dust.
I bought the S5 max over a year ago. It was a game changer in terms of keeping the house looking respectable. Its only shortcoming is it doesn't raise the mop when going over carpeted areas. So, I recently upgraded to the S7. Doing so seemed like a bit of an extravagance, but I'm delighted with it.
Every time I empty the dustbin I tap the dry filter against the side of my rubbish bin to dislodge loose dirt. I wash the filter fortnightly by placing the clean side under the tap, so the running water removes dirt easily, as opposed to embedding it in the filter. It's really handy to have spare filters, that way the robot isn't out of action for a day or two, while I wait for original one to dry. Spare mop pads are a good investment too. I rinse the mop pad after each use and occasionally machine wash them. Towels shed a lot of lint, clogging microfibre, and reduce the performance of mop pads, so be careful about what else you include in the load if machine washing.
I take out the main brush once or twice a month to remove tangled hair. I replaced both the main brush and side brush after about 6 months. And on rare occasions, the app prompts me to clean contacts and sensors using a soft dry cloth. I don't know if it being dry is necessary to prevent water damage, but I'm not taking any chances. Aside from that, I haven't done anything else in terms of maintenance in the 15 months I've owned a roborock.
My floors are always clean now, with very little effort on my part, which is not something I could have claimed before purchasing the S5 max.
If you're between two minds as to whether or not to buy the S7, I'd take the plunge. For anyone without allergies, I don't think an auto empty dock is worth the extra expense. Emptying the dustbin is a quick task to perform manually. But I guess the same could be said about moving rugs, or setting no mop zones.
Hi Breda, thanks for sharing your tips and experience with the S5 and S7. I agree, that since owning a Roborock, my floors have never been so clean so often too!
@@iamjoshstunell Question for Breda and Johs himself, do you guys recommend using demineralized water instead of the regular tap water for the water tank? I'm thinking of getting S7 or to wait for S7 MaxV to appear in Serbia. Reason why I'm asking if tap water shouldn't be used is because of possible limestone appearing and clogging up the nozzle used to wet the cleaning cloth? It's very common, for example, in Serbia that limestone appears from our tap water, even though water itself is perfectly fine to drink and all that... I'm just worried that I might clog up the nozzle and, literally, make moping useless if the water can't get through :|
@@dreepatz I would not risk using the tap water. We would be replacing the filter much more often.
Early Roborocks used a non-washable paper filter. Since the S5, the filter is specifically designed to be cleaned using tap water. I use the sprayer attachment on my sink to get a little more pressure. It gets the filter much cleaner. Filter life is greatly extended by regular washing. Just be sure to let it dry COMPLETELY before re-using.
you should be having at least the basic filtered water jug that you drink? @@dreepatz
Super usefull video! Well made, sectioned and explained! Thanks, man! :)
Thanks for this Josh, it really was most helpful
Thanks, this is much better than the official site :D
This was really helpful, thank you.
Magnificent demonstration thank you
Super useful video, thank you!
Thanks so much! Excellent video
Excellent video
Thank you very much! This video really helped!
Thank you very much 👍
What for do I use the brush? Is it specifically for something or is it just in general to clean the robot?
Watching this while I'm still saving up for my Roborock :')
The worst piece of garbage I ever bought
This crap worked fine one month and then stop working, by contact the manufacturer they said of clean it up and try again which obviously didn’t fix the issue. Then they asked to the item to be returned there has been ONE month without no news or updates. They should have the decency to send a brand new or give my money back, instead they will fix it and se d it back, which they didn’t yet. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!
I regret not buying it, it took more than a month to fix it and today my Roborock arrived with the roller wet and smelly (I don't know if it's working) but what a rubbish service. (If you want advice, don't buy this product)
Came looking for help because when I removed the brush housing, I couldn't figure out how to put the little black piece back into the side of the red wheel. I got the side without the pin done fine, but I kept trying to nest the black piece in with the gray piece on the other side. This video helped me figure out that they don't nest, they just butt up adjacent to one another and then the pin holds them together.
Very useful video, greetings blessings and happy new year 2022
thanks for this one! I had forgotten how to fix that roller!
Cleaning the filter every time I empty it with a dyson is magic. And with water a couple times a month.
Hi thank you for the helpful video. My roller Brush is stuck and somehow I am not able to remove it.. Any idea why and how to fix this?
Mr Josh Tunell,
Many thanks for your detail video which has been a great help. Can you please help with a problem others may also have faced?
Cleaning stuck up hair at the roller's axles is daunting. Because, taking out the grey twist-off cap on the right hand side is tricky. At times, twisting it off doesn't work and when I tried too hard, the black part of the assembly (supposedly attached to the grey twist off cap), separated from the grey cap. When that happens, it's darn difficult to figure out how to reassemble the black piece into the grey twist off cap, and put them back into the roller.
THAT IS REALLY MY PROBLEM.
After it happened the first time, I ordered another roller kit. It happened again: I was careful in removing the grey twist off cap but it just it wouldn't budge. A little extra force, again it separated out the black part of the assembly.
Tried to push the black piece into the twist off cap from the inside - doesn't work, because some notches prevent the hard plastic from the inside to allow the black piece's orientation to go through.
I have watched your video frame by frame - at 1:09 there's no way that orientation allows the black plastic piece and the twist off cap can be together.
Perhaps, there's some simply way to resolve this problem, please let me know: If while twisting off grey cap the black piece separates, how the heck does one reassemble the roller. My apologies if this is a stupid question.
I am at a loss here, any insight will be appreciated. But again, many thanks for a video which has overall been immensely helpful.
Great video! Thank you so much!
Such a good informative video. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
very well explained. thank you
It’s very helpful thank you! However, my Roborock S8+ now has an “empty trash bin error” I guess the channel between the trash bin and the dock was stuck but I don’t know how to open and clean the channel, could you please help!
Excellent instruction, thanks!
BRILLIANT thank you!!!!!👏🏼
Hi I have S8 it showing lidar error. Can you please show me how to
Open the top cover to clean.
Thanks for your video
Excellent video and very helpful, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I got the S6 MaxV this weekend. I couldn't be more in love if I tried.
It's a great machine!
It is a great machine
I need to clean the Air vent. It's full of dust. I cleaned the hole in the dust bin area but how to clean the "inside" part, we can see a grid from the outside were it's written "vibra rise". Thank you
Hi , I found little metal in drop from vacuum in dust box .
then my robot can not turn on anymore .
Do you know how to fix this ?
Thanks, very helpful video. Doing my first maintenance now. Do you think everything is washable that comes off? I did and I hope it's OK but maybe some parts don't like water?
Amazing video! Thanks !
i just use a high powered compressor to clean the vacuum after every use since i have one in my computer shop. it take me 5 minutes over all. i did like the info on the roller i didnt know those ends came off.
Hi my robot just and all lights off. Seem that water had gotten into the compartment. Pls advise. Thank you
brilliant!!!!! I had no idea I needed to do this till I did it!!! It was sooooo yucky!!!
Briliantely explained🎉
I am wondering about how to clean the bumber mechanism as ours is gettinf stuck quite often now...
Thank you very much! You helped me a lot!
Excellent Video. Very helpful. I ordered s7 yesterday. Where is a reasonable place to buy mop heads, filters and brushes? Also what is the best practice with two story house and one changing station.
Do I need to remove the water container before flipping the robot upside down? And the maintenance needs to be done on a soft surface so the sensors on the top of the unit won't get damaged?
Can I use floor detergent in the water tank to enhance mopping?
Thanks, that was really helpful
Thanks for the informative video. Going to go home and do a spring cleaning on my baby! Seems like this will (hopefully?) stop the hairballs we get every time it runs. DO YOU AGREE this will stop that from your experience?
Dude thank you for this video. I was thinking I was a macho man who didn't need to read the instructions. When cleaning my robot it smells disgusting. Why? if it wasn't for your video I wouldn't have known there was Dustpan because I don't read instructions 😆 🤣
Thank you! I couldn't figure out how to get the bearing back on
Glad I could help!
Wow! What a crystal clear explanation. Excellent video. My Roborock 7, I get error 1
Can you pls help me?
A clear cut video like this would help.
Thank you. Bless you 🙏
I found this video very useful but two place were too fast for me - taking the ends off and in the main roller and the re-setting of the app at the end
Help! The main mop wont go inside as i should. What am i doing wrong?🤔
Hey, how can I remove the water inside my robot. I have the s7 max ultra
I have mold inside the water tank - how to clean that?
Brilliant vid! Thanks.
My Roborock S 7 recently stopped mopping. Any thoughts?
Its is a great idea to tap the dust out of the filter before you put water on it
I rarely clean dust filter. I just tap it few times and everything goes out, lookin like new one
Do i have to plug out my roborock when I don’t use it for a week?
How does the roborock offload to the base unit?
So do you need to replace these or just clean them??
Does anyone know why the Roborock would continue to say "Filter blocked or wet, clean, dry and retry." I clean it, blow it out with an air compressor or I put a new one in and it continues after a minute of running to give the same error. I wonder if the air suction is the problem, since maybe the suction might not be able to pull it through the filter and if so, what can I do? I have run it about a year now. The problem has been going on for about two months.
My Robo rock ran over dog poop. How do I clean the wheel wells?
Thanks for the nice video. I have a natural stone floor that my Roborock scratches on. The four protruding parts of the brush cover touch the floor. This causes scratches on the floor. Is there a solution for this? For example, increase the distance from the bottom to the floor? hopefully you have a solution. Greetings Michel.
How Can you Get the robot to higher the airstream ? One of my 3 robots does not hoover /suck with the same strength as it usedvanlig to do. Is there a good idea to make machine do a better job?
Great guide. Very helpful
Thanks so much!
Hello my roubok saids error 18 fan error I have tap it as directed but still not working than u can u help
Thankyou for the video
1:00 How do you clean the inside of the brush. Yours only has so little dirt on the edges, but it gets more. Then what?
Have mine stuck with green light and downs respond to any button pushes or resets… anyone have any ideas?
Using an electronic duster blower is best for the air filter. No wait for drying
I have a S7 Roborock complete new it has cleaned 2 rooms.
And it is making a awefull mechanical noise when moving forward. It sounds like something from the 2 main wheels or a thing sticker in the fan.. I can't seem to figure it out :(
what if your carpet has fringes? Could that be a problem?
You saved me. I took apart the main brush and forgot how the grey end caps went on. 🙃🙃
Haha I refer to this video still myself when I do the maintenance too
Best video to install the main brush. This doesn’t exist in german. So thank you for that
Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thank you for your help! :)
very useful thank you
