Just like the old television commercial says, "Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?" Hell yeah! You know that little 231 cid (3.8 ltr) is bad as hell... better even than those small blocks Chevy motors I have built my own self; you cannot deny that Buick- you just can't.
Don Cruz now holds the record for the TSO class highest trap speed. 180mph. That is a close to full weight GN. The only guys with faster et are Tony Gomes, 7.97 @ 176 and Don Fiscus, 7.98 @ 175. Pretty nice.
These cars ain't no joke. I love when I crank the one I have sounds like this. A man's man car. When ppl see them they know it's business and you can't go by the sound to determine what they have because 90% of them sound the same lol and that's what I like about them. SILENT KILLERS.
Dude!!! Me too. I was like, I came here looking for 9 second turbo Buick’s /gnx And this Guy has 350 Chevy.....then it launched..... and hauled major ass!! There are some gnarly street legal cars that are total sleepers. My high school auto shop had a drag car. 78 Pontiac sunbird with short rod 383 and 2.02 iron heads. Ran 12.17 with a small shot of juice in 3 rd gear only. I’ve seen some shit.
man Im so tired of seeing this dude in this lame ad; man I wish you can skip less than 5 secs. Great vid and this GN is in full beast mode!! Rims are wicked!
Buffster0896 you have to stuff really big balls under the hood. My 86 runs high 10s on 93 Its set up to run 10 more lbs of boost but since I have the stock rear end I have never changed the chip and done that. Tranny and suspension is aftermarket I just need to beef up the stock rear end. It should go about a second lower in the quarter.
Awesome! Not one inch of slip, just a violent hook-up with the tarmac, front wheels pop and it's "byeeeeeeee!" Must take some stones not to lift, when you are riding a 2 ton motorcycle!
I am a GN Fanatic, but I have much respect for turbo Supras and GTRs. I am hoping the 2014 GN twin turbo AWD will be as good or better then the GTR. Peace
The only reason that they are faster is because of the smaller footprint and that is only if you can get them to hook up. Most of the time there is slipping involved with drag radials. You don't have the same problem as frequently with wider slicks.
Daniel Majhor A traction control system doesn't keep wheels on the floor, it just limits tire spin during launch. The front wheels on this car were not down, they were at least 2 feet off the ground. My original comment refers mostly to stock buicks which did NOT have any computer aided systems.
60' time is based on when you break the starting beams. The only thing he was hurting was the reaction time. He took his time to get the turbo/ turbos lit, reaction time was awful, but 60' was probably in the 1.3ish range. Crazy launch.
Clint, when you're talking about thousandths of a second, it certainly DOES affect 60' time if the 60' beam is being broken by the REAR tires instead of the fronts (because the fronts are being carried so heroically). That was my only point. I totally understand pre-spooling ("lit"?) a turbo car for a launch but thanks anyway!
STIRKDAWG Ah, yes.... I was under the impression that your comment was based on how long he sat with a green light. Yeah, probably just a couple hundreds of a second, as you said. Pretty crazy when your reaction time is almost the same as your e.t.! Lol.
uhhh okay. Go look on youtube, there are supras that run 8s all day. Even some street supras will run 8s. Not saying this car isnt badass, just look at the facts though.
The dream machine and futuristic car from the get out.
All that out of a 3.8L V6 ... pretty awesome ---
I'm sure it's bigger then a 3.8
prolly still 3.8 n it would hold it 4sho. but might b a lil bigger like 4.3 or somn
This is the car that made me fall in love with the 3.8

Turbo V6 done right!!!
RWD no computer aided suspension or launch system, just sayin'
it does have computer aided launch, how do you think it keeps the front wheels down? all the fast tso buicks are using traction control.
Daniel Majhor Wrong. It's not a supersport motorcycle. No cars have wheelie control.
it does its aftermarket dumb fuck.

can't belive people think that GN motor is stock lol . if that was the case that would have been the fastest off the shelf car ever back in 86
TC Swag in 84 it was the fastest production car. Beating out the Ferrari and Lamborghini in 0-60. Not top end. But as far as acceleration
Yeah that doesn't say much about hp demand back then . The compact craze fuckin gas $ .
If he can keep the front end down more then he'd be in the 7s.
V6 ???

Well, forced induction does have a little to do with it...you can't deny that either.
Anyone know how much power this thing makes?
prob anywhere from 1000-1200 I'd say
Prolly closer too 1000 is my guess.
More like 1500-1600 I own one @ 1200 and no way I am touching 8's in the 1/4 and 172 mph. no doubt it is twin turbo'ed
Bradford Adams Actually it's closer to 1100. The build with dyno sheets is online.
A family friend has a 1600 nitrous car that runs 7's in the 190ish mph range
