Finally cinematography is being a conversation.. thank you for this.. as a photography enthusiast who observes the details every frame just watching how these wonderful artists build those frame.. their thoughts..ideas is beyond awesome.. thank you.. please continue with more such enriching interviews!😊
Thankyou Film Companion! I remember commenting some months back to bring the behind the scenes talent in the front and interviewing them. Very glad to learn their role and objectives. Thank you!
What a fascinating conversation. Anupama is truly a great conversationalist! Love how she picks up on statements Mr. Chatterjee makes and uses that to ask a relevant question!!!
Always so excited to see FC push boundaries for us viewers to actually learn about cinema and be in on the minds of such creative human beings as Sudeep. One could tell just how much he enjoys his work as the 'messenger in time'. Thank you to Anupama and the team for a wonderful interview and like him, I too wished there was more towards the end 🙃
Eagerly Waiting for other behind the scenes geniuses like him to come and share their stories.. Art, costume, continuity etc Absolute gem and thank you fc
The set up for this interview is also beautiful 😍. It's quite evident that these technical team members have so much to share & without the burden of stardom. Kudos for this segment & looking forward to hearing from more technical people from the film industry.
speaking of backlight in Roja, this interview has a lovely light setup as well. Love how the set, the lights, and the wide and the mid camera have been setup for this episode. Kudos to the FC production team. This looks EXPENSIVE!
Loved this!!! Been a huge fan of SLB’s world of lights, Colours, drama as each frame speaks beyond what the actors deliver. Today heard from the DOP himself it was an incredible show!! Keep it up Film companion & Anupama Chopra. I look forward to more such content in the coming days! Best one hour spent 🙌
Amazing show and finally the “focus” is on the correct talent. Thanks FC. Every time I think of unsubscribing after a Agastya Nanda or Khushi Kapoor, something like this makes me stick around.
i think we give more credits to actors and directors coz thats what we know about it takes conversations like this to make us aware of the work technician do and how much difference that makes thanks fc for doing it will love to see more of it
Had amazing time watching this interview! the way Sudeep spoke throughout this interview I could see his immense love & passion for work. Thank you @film companion and Anupama! waiting for more interviews of same kind :)
I think it's time to appreciate the technicians from the industry as well, because without their contribution it's impossible to get the true sense of storytelling. Thanks Film Companion for this initiative. Wish to see more of technician's stories.
This is so fascinating and something which we don't actually think about quite often as an audience. This is the kind of content that only FC can give us ❤
Such a great view into the brain of an incredible artist! Thank you for this interview. Perhaps one thing that would have been a good addition to the questions is to ask Sudeep to talk about the work of his contemporaries…. It is always great when artists can talk about each other’s work with admiration and it also gives you additional insight into how they think.
Much needed for all cinephiles knowing the Art of Cinematography..Please bring in more on this series..Please bring Santosh Sivan ISC,ASC to talk about his experience for over 30 years. Please bring Ravi K Chandran ISC, perhaps one of the two cinematographers(The other being Ravi Varman ISC) who shot for both Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhasali, The Modern Day Visual Masters of Indian Cinema. Also want to know how Ravi K Chandran shot Dil Chahta Hai which looks so fresh and today even after 22 years..Please bring on Anil Mehta ISC, Rajiv Menon ISC, Binod Pradhan ISC and all.
Thanks FC for this interview, hoping to see many of these insightful conversations at every level of the film making process. Was fortunate to be a fly on the wall throughout the sets of Dhoom3, truly magical to observe the care with which Sudeep treats every ounce of light on the subjects and their relationships with the environment within a frame.. making things organic yet aesthetically pleasing to the eyes no matter how low or high impact the shot is. No matter the constraints on the set, was inspiring to see him persistently breathing life into what the ARRI or Phantom Cameras capture with the same enthusiasm with every shot and take!
I am a Very happy Film companion doing an interview with people who are really making the film, The inside of the film will be very helpful as a student of cinema.
What an absolute masterclass from the man ...from the amazingly shot DOR to Gangubai it's just a spectacular ride.......no wonder the man feeds off pancham
Though some of the questions were quite interesting, it would be a much more insightful and better conversation if it’s cinematographer on cinematographer - see if you can bring in something like that FC? Meanwhile, please know these deep digs into cinematography are so appreciated. Thank you for ‘em 🤙🏿🙌🏿
Loved this ❤ This concept is fab - a great way to learn about the world of cinema and how much goes behind making a movie. Can't wait to see more of this.
