Cinematographers are, in short, in charge of the camera and lighting in a shoot, be it for a film, an advertisement, or a RUclips video. However, cinematographers have a much larger role- they need to capture the Director’s vision. By creating the look, color, lighting, and framing for every single shot, cinematographers are the artists behind the lens.
Jay Oza is a professional cinematographer known for his work on Gully Boy (2019), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), and Rang De Basanti (2006). He shares his experience with us in this short film.

I have one question - how closely does a cinematographer work with a storyboard artist? or does every ad shoot/ film/ music video even need a story board artist today?

They are usually there during prep Suggessting to the director And storyboard artist how they envision the camera moving for that particular scene based on the director’s vision for the script
