Thanks for the review Mike! This is one of my favorite bands and I enjoyed listening to your thoughts on them. Their sound goes all over the place because Tobias is influenced by not just metal but also genres like 70s rock, show tunes, glam, film score, and even German pop. There’s a little bit of everything in their music. And yeah, the long songs can seem a bit much but I’m used to them from listening to other symphonic metal bands and prog rock bands like Rush and Yes. A lot of these type of bands are especially influenced by Iron Maiden’s tendency to end all their albums with a ten minute epic. Also, yes, Draconian Love is an odd one. I think Tobias was going for a Type O Negative sound on that one, or at least something goth rock, but didn’t really land it. Anyway, thank you for listening and sharing your thoughts, Mike.
