I am retired (63) and indeed everyday is like a Saturday and I love every minite. Not bored for one minute. And no I am not busy-busy-busy every second. Just enjoying the ride and am very thankful for this phase in life. Its the best. I never definded nyself thru work. I am me. Thats enough. "What do you do?" I do what I want to do each morning. Its called freedom. And I never get lost.
This is such a great attitude. Thank you for sharing
I really appreciate your work. So important. 99% of focus before retirement is financial and then BAM your retire. Then you find out your good on the financial part but the softer side (non-financial) that you cover is even harder and more impactful. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for leaving this comment and for being here.
I have a problem with this Idea of Failed Retirement. Because Retirement is truly a Individual experience. What makes me happy and feel like my Retirement is awesome may make someone else feel like it's a failure. I retired very early and enjoy a simple quiet life with the freedom to do what I want. If I die early, I am already satisfied and happy. I do not want to live even one day longer just for the sake of others if it evolves being unhappy and suffering..
This is a great attitude. Thank you for leaving it. And yes you are correct, retirement is an individual experience.
Another great video....always appreciate your perspectives. My wife is a retired school principal, and I am looking forward to retiring from the nuclear industry next year. For us, we are blessed to live on a small horse farm and our animals demand routine (feeding morning and night, cleaning water tanks, moving hay bales, mucking stalls, exercising and riding horses, tending the goats, playing with our border collies, etc.). Physical activity is not something that is optional. It actually is a joy for us because we see the results and fruits of our labors in healthy and happy animals. The work is deeply satisfying physically, emotionally...even spiritually. It keeps us fit enough that we quit our gym memberships over a decade ago! We, too, share pictures of ourselves several years ago and friends remark how we look better now than we did back then! And we feel better too. So, the messages in your videos are personally compelling for us, and reinforce that we are doing many of the right things as we thrive in our early 60's.. Thank you!
Good advice, I’m 79, yesterday my wife and I cycled fifty kilometres in the mountains, lunch was a sandwich sitting on a bench. For dinner I cooked lamb backstrap with potatoes gratin and green beans followed by a bowl of mixed fresh fruit topped yoghurt. We are both into 3D computer modelling but we recently bought a gopro and a gimbal camera with a view to making videos of our travels, we already have a drone, so we are studying video editing.
Make the most of your retirement.
You guys are great and always leaving great comments. Thank you for this one.
Bravo to your lifestyle!!!!!!
I love your channel and have been regularly watching it for more than a year since I decided to retire which is happening next month! I am an audiophile and am retiring to listening to music full time. I got divorced in January and am so happy! One suggestion for Mark. Why do you always need to bring up your dad whenever you have to give a negative example. This really stands out like a sore thumb. I am sure that we can give him more respect. Sorry, not preaching but have been meaning to tell you this for some time. Thanks for being an integral part of my life 🙏
Thank you for being here. My dad was my best friend and mentor for my entire life. I am a bit hard on him and it could be an underlying feeling that I believe if he had taken better care of himself he would still be here. For me he is a big part of why we started this channel. If he knew how much we all miss him and how we are hugging because he is gone, he may have developed better habits so he could live longer. Thank you for leaving this comment.
Thanks for your clarification! Much appreciated!
Great stuff - thanks ! I love how you hold space for each other ❤

This is my first time hearing your video. You’re super easy to listen to with great insights.
I really like how you focus on longevity and self care.
Jody you are beautiful!
Thank you for this kind comment. We are glad you are here
1:50 to 1:59 made me lol.
Yes, the boat was sinking!
This video should be required viewing by anyone near retirement. I am well past retirement age, still have a seasonal job which I love. But I was not taking care of some things which is making my life more difficult. Time to smarten up and take care of myself.
Thank you for sharing this about yourself
Another great video. So practical. Thank you guys!
Thank you! We appreciate you.
Great work. Thanks much...
Our pleasure!
Great advice! I wish I had seen this before I retired 11 months ago! Thank you!

You're welcome
I love your channel, it’s really helpful ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
*Lifelong learning 😉
Agree 100%!
Yup. Thank you
Great video. I've been retired 3 years, my husband has been retired for 14 years. Some health issues are cropping up but I have planned as best as possible. I've been playing "catch up" on chores around our home, etc but now I'm moving into a growth stage of retirement. Definitely interested in learning some new things, maybe a language, volunteering, etc.
This is great. Thank you
My husband and I are very different. He says that he is never bored. I on the other hand, am really struggling...
I am sorry to hear that you are bored. Watch a few more of our videos for some ideas. Hobbies, relationships, etc. Is being bored something new for you? Did you recently retire from a career?
As always, very good info to think about. My reason to get up every morning is my dog who wants breakfast and a walk at 4 am. She doesn’t understand that we are retired 😊. Actually I enjoy being outside at that time of day as it is so peaceful. Also enjoy the fact that I will be going back to bed when we come in rather than starting a work day.
Thanks for sharing!
Did you just step in to the retirement or did you prepare yourselfs in prior? Reading about it, trying to find as many articles as possible...
We struggled at first. Went down an unhealthy and bad path. Today we are in much better shape and constantly making adjustments. Try our seven day challenge for a quick start.

Many thanks for your messages and Link you kindly provided. Next year my wife and myself are planning to "early" retire at age 60 and 61. We find your videos very usefull and interesting. Wish you all the Best. Kind regards from Slovenia.
Great video. I am 63 and have been retired now for 3 years. Before retirement, I spent a lot of time on the financial aspect of retirement. You have outlined some key things that are very important to a satisfying retirement life. I would add one thing that you did not discuss. Limit your time on social media and watching the news.
Yes. Social media can easily consume our lives. And news can as well. It healthy to find a balance.
I took sabbatical to put feet in water and have a safety net in case i don't like it. . Within 3 mths i cut the leave short and gave my required 3 mths notice to my boss to go back. You are right about work place socialising and strain on marriage. More arguments with wife than ever before. Its better to back to work. But not for money, but rather to save my mind.
Having some work in retirement is important for many reasons.
I retired 17 years ago no planning just learned as I went very pleased and successful
That's great. Thanks for sharing this.
Hi U2,
handy man , woman being well equipped with tools, having the will to study You Tube can help resolve their financial issues and having a pleasure from a new personal identity…..( so many “activities “ on the car, house, garden asking quite expensive services)
Thank you
Now I have to know, Mark...what was the novel you just read?
a.co/d/0LiFwCq.
A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith. I couldn't put it down, and that's rare for me.
@@RetirementTransformed thank you. Just borrowed the audiobook from the library👍
@@RetirementTransformed Mark, I just finished A Land Remembered. Wow! I enjoyed it and like you, I couldn't put it down. Thank you for sharing.
I am a trader, I love my it.
Awesome. Thanks
Friends are over rated, I don't need social connections
I disagree, respectfully. Social connections are vital for mental and physical health.
Work as your social connection? I don't even make eye contact in the hallway. If I miss those people, I'll just lie down until the feeling goes away.
We believe that strong social connections are important
@@katz20200 Maybe for some, I have trust issues, and don't allow people to get to close. I have my wife, other than that, I don't need or desire social connections.
Regardless of how important many people believe social connections are, not everyone needs them. Some people are quite content to be on their own, all the time.
I am a YT in retirement too 👍
Welcome!!
Divorce rate is down for those under 55 because they arent getting married anymore

wended is the word you were searching for.
lol. Yes, I just looked that word up. It's a new one for me. Thank you
