    For the people complaining about the audio there’s a thing called volume on your device. Turn it up. If you literally can’t hear him -get your ears checked. The video does have a softer volume but certainly not worth filling up the comment section.

      I do enjoy recommendations from amateur pseudo audio engineers. As a professional in the field the reason for the low audio are these: lapel microphone positioned too far down with limited range, alternatively the microphone itself is too far from the presenter, or the record level on the camera was set too low, or in the production edit, audio settings were not checked and set to unity before the final edit to master. So before you engage in random ill informed commentary please step back and show a little humility and empathy.

    I just had cataract remove surgery in one eye 3 weeks ago. Right now my vision is better a lot for far distance; reading I need glasses. That's what we planned from beginning. I have no pain or blurry or bright spots or anything unusual at all. Lucky me. In another week I will see my doctor to check my eye for glasses. I copaid 20% out of pocket about $1500. It's worthy.

    I concur with ruby hobbs comment - the audio has been recorded very low - it can be re-edited and posted afresh - the content is important and useful for those who are about to take the journey of cataract surgery. What would be useful is an explanation of the eye drops purpose and effect. For example when I had ASIK surgery I had a particular brand of eye drops prescribed for dry eye which contained preservative to which I was allergic. I researched University abstracts on contraindications of certain preservatives - the evidence was clear enough for me to source individual phials of eye drops without preservative.

The first week was blurry and after that my vision is about 20/25 for distance and 20/20 for intermediate & near. I couldn't see well & was scared to death before the surgery. Glad I found a good cataract surgeon near where I live.

    Has anyone chosen a holistic/homeopathic protocol for addressing their cataracts? If so please share. I am not believing I want this surgery. There are known and unknown outcomes I'd prefer not to be subjected to. I actually believe there is a physical toll you pay for this surgery that the Eye dr will not be discussing with you in order to get you to go forward with it.

    • @oseasviewer7108
      @oseasviewer7108 8 месяцев назад

      A comment from someone who has undergone eye surgery first removal of a pterygium and later LASIK vision correction - we all have a different healing response therefore the outcome of any surgery is not uniform. And age is a significant factor in the healing response.
      Do as much reading on the subject as you can to understand the contraindications and issues that may develop and ensure you are in the best possible health when you finally choose to have the surgery performed. Allow yourself plenty of time for the individual eye to deal properly before having the second eye treated. I understand the healing process can take several months so prepare yourself for the long haul and be patient.

    Why my close sighted eyevision gone very weak after cataract surgery?
    Is it Normal?

    • @TheEyeExpert
      @TheEyeExpert  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Neetu
      There are many reasons for this I am afraid. The most common cause of gradual blurring of vision after successful cataract surgery is clouding of the thin layer of tissue that is left behind at the time of cataract surgery called the posterior capsule. It is left behind to support the new plastic lens inserted at the time of cataract surgery but it can go cloudy causing the vision to blur. If this is the problem it is easily treated with some painless laser taking only a few minutes in the out patient department called a YAG laser which will return the vision to how it was immediately after cataract surgery.
      Peter

    I had Cataract surgery. The surgeon suggested a distance lense. Pre operation I was myopic in both eye and Glaucona in my left eye which was having the operation. He didn't have access to my health records. Uneventful surgery happened and I was given the lense power after my operation on a card +5.5. I now have severe anisometropia as I am now +1.5 left eye and -3.5 in my right eye, can't use glasses or contact lenses. I have been on pred eye drops since the operation. Should the surgeon have insisted on keeping me myopic due to the glaucoma? It's been suggested that they operate on my right eye to balance things up but I have refused and requested a piggy back lense in my left eye to put me back in to myopia. The surgeon also aggregated my scleral buckle and I am recovery from that operation as I type. Just curious on your thoughts about the lense though. The surgeon was very dismissive of myvv BBC questions to the point in which we fell out at the beginning because he didn't like me asking so many questions.

      That's what they call "negative dysphotopsia" and quite many people have this symptom after their cataract surgery. I found Dr. Shannon Won's videos and he explained about negative dysphotopsia and how to fix it, etc.
      I just had both eyes done few weeks ago. Though I did see some flickering/ glistening in the first 5-7 days but after one week they were all gone.

    A day or so after my cataract surgery I suddenly got a fairly significant floater.
    It appears to be attached towards the top (of my vision).
    It swings across my vision in the opposite direction of my eye movement - when I look to the left, it swings to the right, when I look to the right it swings to the left.
    It 'swings' because it appears to be attached at the top, so it swings like a pendulum. It is not free floating, does not rotate, and does not float around. Its position
    is stable.
    When I called my surgeon about it, she minimized it, said I would just have to live with it.
    It has been 5-7 years or so and is still there, although I notice it less.
    IDuring my regular eye exam today, the doctor didn't seem to know anything about it (this is someone different, not the person who did the surgery).
    Can you point me toward more information as to what this might be? What is this called? Where in my eye would this be?

    • @caramelclothing
      @caramelclothing 2 года назад

      Hi Dave, It is likely to be due to a clump of jelly called vitreous that occupies the main eye cavity behind the lens. If you have had it for so long it is unlikely to be associated with anything serious such as a tear in the retina. It can be removed with an operation called a vitrectomy but if is in not causing you too much trouble and you have already tolerated it for this length of time it may be best left alone.
      Hope this helps
      Peter

    • @jkyoft78
      @jkyoft78 2 года назад

      @@caramelclothing Peter, this floater suddenly appeared the day after my cataract surgery. Which is why I question it could have been in the vitreous. When I called my surgeon she minimized it. She said she always tries her best to remove all the lens material and other material prior to installing the new lens. It seems possible to me that this 'floater' is material that resides in the sack containing the lens, that came loose - not material in the vitreous.
      My question is, can the location of this floater be determined (non-invasively)?
      Can inspection determine whether this floater is in the vitreous or in the sack containing the lens (possibly as a result of the surgery)?
