Note: lots of people in Java never had the chance to know about the injustices happening there, since any attempt to discuss Papuan civil rights are banned and blocked. For example, recently, a student government body in a public university (University of Indonesia) conducted a webinar and suffered a huge backlash from the university, some authorities, and also lots of Indonesians. Please help our Papuan brothers to talk about West Papua.
I think that Nihi Indigenous Media is a very useful and beneficial media for all Pacifican regions to express in order to maintain their cultural dignity and natural honor (Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia).

the indonesian govts main aim is to keep silencing the west papuan freedom movement until majority of west papuans become pro-indonesians, it's already happening now, if there was a referendum, it probably wont even pass.

Aaaw this made me emotional! Thank you for this video! As a half Indonesian I am so sad that Indonesia is treating West Papua in this way. Even when I was a child I never understood this stupid racism and was sad when other Indonesians talked bad about West Papuans cause I always been and am very fond of them and I appreciate their culture so much. It’s such a beautiful place with beautiful people and I just wish them all the best and I hope and pray that they will get the respect, love, freedom and independence that they deserve ❤️🙏🏾 and I will also definitely keep on spreading awareness here in Europe where I live and to my Indonesian family and friends

I think that he was encouraging the youth to tell others about it since many people don't know what is happening in West Papua.

This is wonderful. I would like to have seen a mention of the failed Indonesian program of Transmigrasi and how it played out in Papua / Irian Jaya. Many Papuans feel there was an underlying program of Islamisasi. And please, please, please keep the Biak language alive.. it is SO beautiful and expressive.

indonesia as a country conceptually is not the grouping of "malay" people, it is ex-dutch east indies, every ethnic group and land that used to be a part of the dutch east indies. there are many melanesians in indonesia that don't have an independence movement (eg. flores people) and many non-melanesians that do (eg. acehnese). i agree west papuans should have a choice on independence or not, but because of what happened in 1960s not because u guys r melanesian...

Papua has developed a lot. Freeport issue for example. From 2018, Indonesia has taken over 51% of freeport shares, where 100% of the profits from the mine are used for the interests of the people in Papua and distributed through special autonomy funds. Indonesia is trying to make Papua empowered by taking over shares of freeport, better management of natural resources to accelerate development and better people's welfare.

West Papua is a victim of OUR governments and ongoing illegal conduct of UN employees. On 21st September 1962 our governments voted (General Assembly res.1752) to give the new UN Secretary General U Thant permission to invade West Papua and appoint Indonesia as the current administrator. Our governments were using article 85 part 1 of the UN Charter to authorise this; article 85 part 2 requires that the Secretary General tell the UN Trusteeship Council about the trusteeship agreement ('New York Agreement') so that the Council can then begin its article 87 & 88 duties making yearly UN reports to protect & promote independence of the colony (West Papua). In violation of the UN Charter, U Thant never told the Trusteeship Council; and nor have any of the subsequent Secretary Generals. IF UN employees were honest, they would insist on revealing General Assembly resolution 1752 invasion & subjugation of West Papua to the UN Trusteeship Council to whom they should have reported it in 1962.
wait I don't think Indonesian is forced to leave their native language or culture, Indonesia itself has many language and culture for each region and pround of it, but for the formal sector yes indeed we must use Indonesian language, this is for facilitate data collection and so on. West Papua is rich in resources but because it is rich many foreign countries want to monopolize these resources, look at how Timor leste Which is rich in oil, became independent a few decades ago become a poor country, and the countries that defend their independence that used Timor resources with little profit for Timor it self. I understand what you’re saying on this specific language matter and i think you are a reasonable guy, but you have to understand that Mansar probably lived during Soeharto era, and there has been 0 justice given for the past violations. Indonesia as a country keeps committing war crimes through its policies and military operations,and expects a simple presidential apology would solve the past crimes. All these unsolved crimes become the driving forces for Free West Papua Movement. New York Agreement needs to be renegotiated.
