Right before the Holocene Epoch. Civilizations build around coast and shore lines, so this was flooded out with the rest. Sad to think that there could have been many pockets civilizations that were wiped out and never had the chance to develop world wide. So much lost history. Graham Hancock will be all over this one.

    • @Archeidos-Arcana

I have tried to understand why people hate/dislike Graham Hancock so much; and still haven't entirely figured it out. Like, I get following the hard evidence -- but who in their right mind WOULDN'T suspect ancient lost civilizations we don't know about? Even if he's wrong about like 50% of his claims, what harm does it do? Just gets people interested in history and the world.
Like, we've been anatomically and genetically Homo-sapien for at least 100,000 years, right? Seems like an awful long time for a civilization to arise. Pretty much everything moves in cycles, so makes sense that civilizations would too.

Hmm interesting 290 ft below the waves and now the important question is WHERE ??
I can see the water is light blue and with white sand which could be almost anywhere on this planet where it's somewhat semi tropical with attributes like this.
Sorry but even though it's interesting, it's not too shocking especially considering how much lower the sea levels were many thousands of years ago. There are literally hundreds of ancient remnants of human civilization which are hidden beneath the waves and mostly in the Mediterranean sea but definitely elsewhere as well.
One particular site I think is really puzzling are the building structures off the west coast of Cuba located between 2,000 o 2,400 feet under the waves which was located by accident while a research vessel was doing a unrelated research mission for the Cuban government. The structures are pyramidal in shape and made of numerous huge blocks of granite with several hieroglyphic like shapes carved out of the rock .
The question is how did this settlement get that far down under the ocean and how old is it ??
Unfortunately for whatever reason most likely $$$ there's only been one follow up mission to this location to do a sonar map of the area along with a dive using a submersible ROV .The results of this mission has puzzled the experts such as Robert Ballard who's well known for his ocean research and for his expertise in deep ocean exploration such as when he found the Titanic in 1985 .
It's a shame nobody else has returned to this site to do more investigations but hopefully some day it'll happen.

Not many, the ocean rise wasn't instantaneous nor even over just a few centuries but over thousands of years, rising between 3mm and 6mm a year. Buildings and such might be washed away, but that's not all that comprises a culture, the people do, and they either moved or were murdered by other humans. Sometimes nature DOES do right angles, depending on the composition of the rocks. A rock under pressure can split into squares and rectangles and then the cracks can fill in with silt over time. Look up the Bimini "road".

I use to work for someone who sold crystals/gemstones, and there were definitely naturally cubic crystalline structures in a variety of the specimens we sourced and sold...so certain minerals or mineral combinations will definitely form right angles.
Perhaps the instances that they occur in nature are so small relative to the rest of nature that they feel it is a strong enough likelihood to make the assumption? But yeah, you're right. Def gonna check out the "road" you mentioned! Thanks for sharing.

I guess this is effectively clickbait to watch the TV show. When I saw the name Miklos, I figured he was some Greek archeologist who made a new discovery off Greece. No, he has one of those silly treasure shows. Someday, I think Captain Nemo needs to give one of these shows' crews a treasure adventure they won't forget.

Also, that there have been far more advanced technological societies made up of human beings long before the pharaohs of Egypt were around.
What if the so called alien's & ufo's we see & encounter so often, are really just our ancestors from long ago who lived on Earth, however mutated to be able to live in space or on other planets. Also since then have been coming back here on Earth to check on us from time to time. Would not surprise me!
