- Just a uploaded of the found lost plot test shrek footage, but edited to have the music. (I edited the music in where i think it fits with the animated clips,)
These look to be 3 different found lost clips from the lost footage of the ‘i feel good shrek test’.
Hopefully in the future when the rest of the animation test is found we can get the original audio aswell. But we just gotta hope that the rest isn’t lost forever. But its really good news that these clips have been found after so many years!!

(I have noticed some people have stolen the video and audio on RUclips and have used it to spam- they have also stolen the description and my words- so this is conformation that this is the original video i made.)
(I have no problems with others using the audio and video and reuploading it but when stealing my words and description and video name i will report. And i ask others to report those videos too.)

As gross as Shrek looks the animation is not bad at all especially for it's time, the fact that it evolved so much even then is absolutely incredible
The way Shrek moves at the "I would if I...." part is actually really smooth, definitely better than the test footage of Toy Story. Very interesting to see this version!

Fun fact, the animation you're watching is a mixed between frame by frame and Motion Capture, that is why the actions and motions felt really natural and smooth even for 90's standard.

I absolutely love how this was uncovered. The uncanny aura of 3D test animations really are unlike any other. It really doesn’t help this is also considered lost media to an extent which add to the uncanny valley to it

this character design would have hurt the movies success, but good lord would it have hammered home the message it was trying to tell.
gotta admit the animation is amazingly smooth it's time too!!!! i personally like the desgn, but at the same time glad we got the shrek we all know ad love today.

In all Honesty Parents didn’t exactly give a crap about what their children watched in that time period, and Ratings had a different standard than they do now. Rated PG back then was the limit of a ghost undoing a man’s belt. This is from the original GhostBusters(PG) with Bill Murray in the cast.

Memes aside, Shrek was so influential when it came to animated movies, hell even Disney attempted the fast talking, subversive, pop culture edginess that made Shrek so iconic (ie: Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons) and that's not even mentioning all the fairy tale subversions movies that came after it.
I wonder how different things would've been if this was the direction they went with.
And also, instead of memes of all star, we would've probably gotten memes outta this music. (And this scene, it kinda looks like it was an Intro)

This Shrek model was a prototype like Woody from the 1992 test of Toy Story.
Back in 1996, this was a prototype for a test scene and a storyboard to go with it. It actually starts with Shrek walking down the street singing ‘I Feel Good’ and ends when Shrek sends the mugger flying and continues walking down the street singing ‘I Feel Good’
More and more people are discovering bits from the original Shrek that had Chris Farley and by the time this test came out, this guy was still alive.
There are still more bits of them out there.
Look y'all can say what you want about the design, but I'm so so so happy this has even been partially found. The day we find the full scene will be a cause for even greater celebration.

This footage definitely looks like it’s from 1996-1998. Furthermore, compared to the finalized version that did release, this version of Shrek seems darker and dingier, yet more cartoonish and exaggerated.

I didn't know this version of Shrek made it past concept art, let alone animation tests. So cool to see!!
I think I would have preferred this design in the movie. It's a lot more accurate to the original book, and Shrek actually looks scary, Shrek's final design just looks like a big bald man with elongated ears, but this looks genuinely creepy and could sell why people hate him so much, I think that would make the film's message even more powerful.

Also I am pretty sure they changed Shrek to look more human looking as they wanted people to connect and relate with him. After all, telling a story and aspiring people is what matters the most here

I get what you're saying but most people wouldn't have seen the film's message because nobody would've wanted to see it. It's a good design but I'm sorry, mass audiences would've been turned off by it and this would have bombed, and this was at a time where DreamWorks couldn't afford another movie to bomb.
When it's all said and done, the Shrek we got was the better Shrek. But I'd love for DreamWorks to revisit this idea. Perhaps for a streaming show set in an alternate universe.
@@SpiralPoliFemboy that’s what I’ve been saying, people are saying that “they should of done this, it’s faithful to the story and design” and all, but they don’t get that had they have done that, the movie would of likely either flop, be okay-ish, or probably has a slight-above-5/10 review. They just don’t think about everyone else’s perspective, including critics, and only just think, “oh but I most definitely will be the one guy liking it which everyone else will agree,” like no, you gotta think outside of your perspective and how you think the majority of the audience would feel.
Now as for your last part, I would like to see them revisit this and find a way to make the old design work.
