I always enjoy your videos and your wife has a cute voice. I’ve been in car hauling about three months but I’ve been hauling freight for over 20 some years. I’m able to be home every night and I’m semi retired.
I avoid backing in the dealership if I can help it they are more than happy to let me and other transporters to park on the street and have it set up that I can charge a car off my trailer it worked on a van I delivered in Denver
@@riosautotransportllc Yeah I was thinking the low pro is a better option as well. The ez4 being so high had me a bit worried. I actually already do OTR hotshot now have a 2019 Chevy 5500MD that has been awesome issues with front tire wear.. I'm running a 40ft big tex now that I set up for vehicle hauling but I'm always stuck running 2 trucks or oversize vehicles to make any money hauling just 2. I need to upgrade trailers badly.
I’m redoing my fleet. I was thinking of doing a EZ 4 like you guys but instead of 5500 you think single axle Freightliner M2 day cab would be better. I’m only planning to go from Las Vegas to LA or AZ about 300/350 miles one way. Any suggestion helps. So basically M2 Freightliner vs. Dodge 5500 with EZ 4
Some people in my area are paying $10k + for 2007 and older trucks with 200,000+ miles. It's absolutely ludicrous!🙃 I could understand the prices if they were older, low mile diesels, but were talking about high mile gas engines.
Tire temperature varies by outside temperature. When checking your tires if all are at 60 degrees and one is at 70 check the bearings or maybe hub is too tight.
A mini 5 requires a Class A license. You can do a tow truck 1 car above cab, 2 on bed and 1 on tow. Most tow trucks have air brakes you’ll need your air endorsement.
I prefer the EZ4 it’s easier to load and with the ex4 you can put a full size truck in the back, on the Mini 5 a full size truck would need to go in number 1 position over my truck.
Hello, thanks for answering. I am Bolivian. I hope to migrate to Canada in 2023 because I think it is easier to enter that country. I like the work that you do. hence my interest.
Thank you The Millionaire DIY! Here in California it’s at the DMV (weight fees). My Dodge 5500 GVWR is 19,500 pounds (on the door) and my Kaufman Ez4 GVWR is 25,000 pounds (on the vin plate). 19,500 + 25,000 = 44,500 I purchased the 45 weight fee sticker.
@@riosautotransportllc Is this how they calculate it? Does it say it anywhere on the DOT site, please let me know. The reason Im asking is because my truck had 22,000 lbs on the door, my trailer is 26,000 lbs both GVWR. I registered it at 45,000. But a dot officer thought this was way over limits. Thank you for your time.
@@themillionairediy This is from California’s DMV website… Commercial vehicles are subject to weight fees in addition to registration and vehicle license fees. The weight fee amount is determined based on the vehicle’s unladen weight, gross vehicle weight (GVW), or combined gross vehicle weight (CGW) and number of axles. In California your 45k sticker is too low your GVWR is 48k, you would need to purchase next level (50k).
Yes 4 cars is profitable. It’s important to keep your overhead low. I paid cash for both my used truck and used trailer. My insurance the first year was close to 20k. Second year was only $5,400.
@riosautotransportllc awesome, thank you for all the info and the heads up. Yes, we plan to run it just the two of us to start and hopefully get 2 trucks running eventually.

Thank you for watching! That is awesome! Being semi retired while hauling cars is nice.
You guys are awesome and thank you for you're informative videos.

5:00 Five years with the Mini5 but needs to straps at least 3 tires. DOT will love to see him.🤣🤣🤣
great video. great info.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful!

Hey, a question for you. If you didn't do local but did OTR car hauling.. Would you still go for the Ez4 over say a low-profile wedge?
I would go with a low profile wedge, possibly a Infinity 5 or 6 car trailer. Instead of a Dodge I would use a Peterbuilt.

Wow that is expensive.
What’s the right temperature for the tires? And what would you do if they are too hot?

Does this type of work also exist in Canada?
Sorry I’m not sure, I don’t live in Canada.

where do you get your loads from?
Central Dispatch and direct customers
So why raise the deck if you only have two units? Why not just load one on the incline and the other behind it?
Fuel was expensive I was trying to be more air dynamic (save fuel).
Uuuhhh, lol🤣🤣 Fair enough🥴
👍🏽👏🏽
Thank you!!
Great video and I really enjoyed it. The question is, how did you register your Ram at 45000lb?
