I'm a chef that was working for Royal Caribbean, during the pandemic we had skeleton crews onboard, there was only 68 of us on the whole ship, we used to do crew bbq's, movie nights etc. It was amazing, best contract of my life
MSC is fantastic for solo cruisers! You'll have a wonderful time even with an inside cabin! Don't forget that you don't need a balcony to be outside and enjoy the sun :) I love Ocean Views because I get the outside light that I can (usually) sit up in.
@@ktmcc4360 that's a bit mean! We are not all the same. Just because you have dropped all your preferences to fit in with others expectations doesn't mean other people have to. Growing up means to be self actualized, and to consider own needs as well as others, so that ultimately and eventually we don't expect others to fit in with our ideas. Grow up, or fit in to make you feel comfortable?
A cruise that was at 25% capacity would be my favorite. I hate crowds. Generally I like to just go to a place and visit rather than cruise because of that.
I've seen some bad behavior by passengers on cruises as well. In the dining room, a woman from Wales started yelling and blaming the waiter for the "bad food", no matter how he tried to please her. I spoke to the head waiter and told him to disregard any complaints towards the poor boy. I also left a commendation for him at the end of the cruise.
The crew work long hours, 7 days a week, and are often away from home for 9 or 10 months, earning just £1000-£1,500 a month. They sometimes have to put up with rude, arrogant, snobbish and offensive passengers, whilst maintaining a big smile…can’t be easy! 🥴
@@robertrichards4930 I don't have a problem when it's used in an appropriate context. I have friends and family members who are gay.I don't understand why it's used in a post about cruise workers that work so hard.
We often complain when something isn't up to our sometimes too high expectations but we forget to tell people when they do something that is positive. I had to give up being a primary school teacher and foster Mum when I became very ill. I felt like I lost my purpose and I struggled with that. I realised that I could make a small contribution by spreading genuine positivity. One thing I felt strong about was that I could look for a positive in everyone and every situation whether it's online or in person. Your comment about how you stuck up for the waiter gave me more faith in humanity because a lot of people wouldn't have taken the time to do what you did. You are a very caring, kind and inspirational person. I hope that you and your loved ones are doing okay and keeping safe. Xx
Cruises are 100% NOT my type of vacation; however, I love traveling. Your channel provides interesting insights into a style of traveling that’s not my own. I love your format, particularly all the details and comprehensive coverage of cabins, etc. You have a new subscriber!
I took my first MSC cruise in 2021. For the money it was the best deal I've ever gotten for a cruise. As you stated it wasn't the same as NCL but it was almost half the price. As for capacity I went on the Meraviglia in December and there were only 670 out of a possible 5642 (

@@matty6848 Yes I did. Just got off a recent MSC cruise and they dropped the ball on multiple fronts. The final staw was not following through on 30% refund via OBC through Healthcare Hero's. They are now stating I no longer get it after several emails back and forth shows confirmation. They just didn't follow through with promise and forgot to put it on my sailing. Just got back and if they don't honor their word I'm done with MSC for a while if not for good. My last 2 sailings with NCL were no solo supplement and I have a 10 day coming up for $599 sail away rate Nov 28th.
I have suffered from travel sickness for all of my life, I can totally relate to you describing how you can't look at a phone screen during travel. People who have never suffered, can not understand how really debilitating travel sickness is, and that for some of us, the feeling doesn't necessarily stop at the end of the journey.
The solid chocolate block can be tricky. My dad used to work at Arnott’s biscuits and sometimes he’d bring these huge blocks of chocolate home - they’d take up an entire shelf of the fridge and be like 10cm high. The only way you can get any off is with a hammer and a chisel. As long as your chisel is spotlessly clean/new, it’s fine. I’d highly recommend that or else you can heat a knife blade and do it that way. As a kid though, the drama of a hammer and chisel is magical.
I’ve been on a MSC cruise for my High School prom trip, and it was AMAZING! Best trip of my life and the crew was simply fantastic, It’s been over 14 years and I still keep in touch with two crew members that work for MSC to this day! We got so close to the crew to the point where we both cried when saying goodbyes.
So I'm a teacher of the Visually Impaired and I just went to you website for the first time and I was very happy to see your post about VI and cruising! Molly burke, a blind RUclipsr just got back from a cruise and said it was incredibly accessible and accommodating, even with a guide dog!
A close relative did an Alaskan cruise in a group as a 20 something year old. Everyone else on the cruise was elderly, so they pretty much had the ship to themselves after 8pm. So. Another thing to consider if you want to score a ship more or less to yourself.
That was the most positive review of an MSC cruise I’ve seen. The ship looks great. And what a value. The itinerary was more eastern Caribbean than southern Caribbean but there’s nothing wrong with that. Cheers.
You probably already thought of this, but MSC Cruises prices are very competitive likely because the cruise line is owned by MSC, the Mediterranean Shipping Company, which their primary moneymaker is cargo shipping. The cruises get financial backing from the cargo shipping income.
I'm a 58 Yr old Brit. I've always steered clear of cruises thinking it'd be all I loath. Forced audience participation 'fun', older people in ballgown shared dining. Etc etc. You've proved me wrong... Great job Emma ... 🇬🇧
I have never been on a cruise but I am addicted to your channel. Engaging, energetic, articulate presenter. Really well produced and written. Congrats. Keep it up. I don’t think I can find a cruise from Australia that you have covered? Would like to see one.
I just "discovered" you today and am very glad that I did. I'm not the least bit interested in taking a cruise but your voice and delivery were riveting. I would definitely buy a used car from you. I have taught video production though and your editing was excellent. I felt like I had accompanied you on the cruise! Now I'm really looking forward to watching more of your adventures. Thanks.
Your reviews are spectacular. I have no intention of cruising but your videos are so thoughtfully detailed and interesting. Way better than any other travel reviews I've seen or read (planes, hotels, etc). Great job!
Just when I thought the days of cruise deals were over, that seems like a great value. The only deal like that I ever managed to find was $99pp total for a 5 day cruise on Norwegian Sky in the Bahamas. Would have definitely been a steal had we been locals and not needed to fly
Thank you for these. I've never cruised before, although I've thought about it. Your videos are so clear and understandable I find myself wanting to schedule a cruise as soon as I can afford it. In the meantime, I'm living vicariously through all of your videos!
Marty! I never cruised and have been afraid to because I can't swim and afraid of the sea. A young 28 now former co-worker of mine who began cruising in college begged me every year to try cruising. In 2019, MY wife and I decided to try it, went with about 10 other friends, went on a 7 day carribean cruise and absolutley LOVED it and we were 64 yrs young We are HOOKED! Went on another 7 day cruise in '20 prior to the plandemic and can't wait to go again. It is the best way to vacation and were it not for the mask mandates and testing we would be on board now!!! I have wasted so much of my younger years having been afraid to cruise so GO!!! Can't wait to go back. Now, I live cruising vicariously thru Emma and other Vloggers

@@j.ericforeman1746 if you're confident flying, a cruise is nothing. Remember- on a ship, there's time to ask for help and evacuate and ships nearby to help.. on a flight, in an emergency, there's a slim chance of those. Cruising us very safe.
Those delicious pastries are Guyanese Pine Tarts....my friends Guyanese-Caribbean mom makes them and they are a favorite--not hard to make either, definitely google it!
I lived in Southern Italy for 2 years as a child and at Easter the Italian sweets and dept stores sold large, hollow chocolate eggs, both chocolate and white chocolate, filled with small toys and candies. I once got a miniature deck of cards in my Easter egg. My mother always got herself a white chocolate egg.
So I'm from the US, having traveled Royal Caribbean only in the past. Here's the thing, I clicked on your video while doing my hair and kept listening because you are easy to listen to and you've made this all super interesting though I don't think I'll ever take an MSC cruise. I've NEVER kept listening to a video I didn't mean to click on. Many Thanks! Keep Cruisin.
Great video Emma thanks, it was weird though!!! as I was on the Seaview with exactly the same package 4th-11th Jan 2022 in cabin 11105 visiting the same ports. The Ship only had 900 passengers until it reached St Martin, then the load went up considerably, and as you said not at all crowded. My Cruise cost £694 as a solo traveller including flights and transfers as well. We did miss 2 ports due to covid restrictions. But I must say MSC handled the situation superbly as they credited €200 to spend on board and refunded excursions, they also gave a 30% discount letter for the next Cruise.
Excellent video, you hit on all aspects of the ship, food, service activities, etc. From what I have learned over the past couple of years especially is that MSC is a real hit or miss cruise line. You had a very good experience while others on a different MSC ship may have had bad food, etc. The ship itself looked very nice and I am glad you had a great time. I can see why this video was so challenging, you covered a lot in the 27 minutes, much appreciated.
Thanks Lou! Yeah, we were so lucky with so many things on this cruise. We've had good MSC cruise in the past too (and some bits a bit meh). I definitely wouldn't recommend them for you... but we already knew that! ;)
I just returned from a week on the MSC Meraviglia out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The ship itself is very nice. We had a deluxe balcony room for 3 and the drink package was included in our fare. My husband, son, and I all had the same feelings about this cruise. The crew were very attentive. There were 740 guests and 1000 crew for our week. We really enjoyed going to Ocean Cay which is their private island. Spent the day at their Lagoon Beach which was very nice. The ocean behaved like a lake. Anyway, our cabin steward was extremely attentive. However, we experienced a few things that may cause us not to rebook another MSC cruise. First, we ate at the main dining room. We had an 8pm seating because the 6pm was full, which made us miss all the 9pm shows in the theater the entire week. They only had one show there each night. Second, the food was extremely mediocre in the dining room and buffet. In fact, it was flat out really bad. We did not complain about it, just politely said we were full, as an answer to why we didn't eat much. It wasn't the waiter's fault, in fact our waiter was very attentive. Third, the lack of entertainment at night was disappointing. We are used to seeing shows, comedians, and music. We only saw one band that played three shows during the week. They were probably the best entertainment on the ship. No comedian shows, and the music at the bars was okay. Unfortunately/fortunately, we have cruised on many other lines and in our minds, were trying to compare MSC to Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and Princess. Although the pricing for the cruise was a bargain, I guess you get what you paid for. We felt quite nickeled and dimed to death on the ship. The specialty restaurants were very expensive, and we were trying to have a nice vacation on a fixed budget. It was very relaxing, as we just hung around the pool deck during the day sipping on drinks each day. I feel perplexed because I have never had a cruise that I didn't want to go on again. This was our first time experiencing MSC, and I guess our anticipated standards were higher and what we ended up with was a lot lower than we expected. But at least we found out by trying them out, and it didn't cost very much. Thanks for reading my comment.
Maybe it's just me, but maybe at a later date you might give MSC a second chance. Though I personally never been on any of their ships. I live in Oklahoma, and the closest port to us would be in Galveston Texas about 8 hours away. I don't think we have any MSC ships there. But what you mentioned about your experience kinda mirrors my feelings about my first cruise with Carnival. I had two previously with Royal Caribbean and loved both of them. My mom loves them too. But I would like to have another cruise with Carnival to really give it a fair shot with the two I had with Royal Caribbean. Me and my mom have a cruise booked for Hawaii in 2023 on the Pride of America from Norwegian. Which I already heard it's nothing more than a glorified hotel so the bar is already set kind of low lol 😅. But it's still a brand I've never been on before so I'm still excited for it.
If you want the upscale food and drinks, book the MSC Yacht Club Level. Every thing is exceptional and you are treated like royalty. I am 69 and cruised for decades on Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, and NCL. You will pay for the level, but you will have a private butler who meets you at the pier and takes you to your cabin and basically caters to anything you want for room service food and bedding etc. You will have a YCL lounge with wonderful snack foods, tortes, candy, hors deveurves served throughout the day. Your YCL dining room offers a selection from each specialty restaurants as well as their gourmet quality dinners. There is a YCL pool area as well where there is a small buffet and bar. The price is different, but you do get what you pay for.
I guess you got a "budget" cruise that didnt fill your expectations. In my view any cruise holiday is better than no cruise holiday. I guess in the future you will either pay more for the holiday you are seeking or stay home. :)
I never want to go on a cruise, but I never want to miss one of your uploads. Your editing, presentation, and cadence, are absolutely captivating. --- Thanks for the great video. ---
Wow, what a great deal! My last cruise, on Carnival Sunrise, was $35/pp total. At that price I decided to go solo for the first time ever and I upgraded cheaply to a balcony! I even won $2500 from one of those impossible-to-win cash cube machines in the casino, so it was an awesome cruise money-wise. --And then I got $0 cruise offers including free drinks in the casino afterward. :) I overheard people next to me saying the food on that cruise was much better than on their previous cruise...and it was on MSC. They said they thought MSC's food was very bland. :o
You do such a wonderful job of reviewing your cruise experiences! I knew you'd gone to the Caribbean, and as a Florida girl, I was hoping and praying that you had brought a good, high SPF sunscreen....or suncream! I like suncream. Good job, Emma!
I think they didn't offer it because the regulation says that if someone needs to quarantine after testing positive, it must be on a cabin with a balcony. Even at low capacity, they need a lot of the balcony cabins free cause all it takes is one outburst and a lot of people need individual cabins at once, and between crew and passengers it might not be enough.
You've recently become one of my favourite RUclipsrs! I've never been on a cruise & probably never will bcos I'm scared to perish at sea lol. I love how much knowledge you share & your delivery style. Very helpful. For now, I'll continue virtually cruising with you 🌞 Thanks Emma!
Emma, next time you feel any travel sickness issues try ginger. Anything ginger, maybe see if you can get ginger tea and take it with you. Ginger pills, ginger candy or on a cruise see if they have ginger beer. It's a type of soda/pop not alcohol. Ginger helps with settling a stomach.
I think Sun cream should be the "Britishism of the week" LOL Awesome review as usual!! Long trip both ways....love that you were "left a gift" to find by your friend. I'll have to try that one at some point. Haha.
Travelled on the MSC Seashore with my family a month ago for the first time after several NCL cruises. It was running about 80% capacity for those curious, hence why things may vary from what I experienced. Overall, the reviews were quite mixed. We opted for an aft suite (Aurea experience as they consider it) quite similar to those pictured at 1:40. Compared to some of the suites we’ve stayed in on NCL cruises, the room itself was ok. The AC was lacking and having to have a cruise card in a key slot to allow power to the room took getting used to, and you had to step over the corner of the sleeper sofa to get to the balcony, but everything else was pretty nice. The room service wasn’t great though unfortunately. Maybe it was just the size of the ship, but we saw the room steward maybe once the entire cruise, compared to at once a day (or more) on NCL. With no concierge like on NCL (for staying in the equivalent type of suite), the minimal interaction with the cruise staff made it feel less special too. The other major hiccup was with embarkation. It took roughly 3 hours of standing in warm Miami heat and a crowded terminal to even get on the ship, although that could be a port issue rather than something MSC can control (and supposedly MSC is in the process of getting s new terminal in Miami that would be better). On the flip side disembarkation couldn’t have been easier (going through Customs was a breeze too) Everything else was mediocre or great by our standards. Food was hit or miss sometimes, but the staff encouraged us to order multiple things or ask if we had any problems with the food, so we left dinner full and satisfied every night. The main buffet was a highlight for the pizza alone, as it made for a great midnight snack and was open for several hours after the rest of the buffet closed down. Entertainment actually wasn’t half bad either, they had 2 showtimes for most shows, and they had a magician (who I believe was on America’s Got Talent at some point) so I’d put it about even with what I saw on NCL. The ship itself had plenty of amenities, and it was actually almost too big for our liking, as at the end of the week we still hadn’t explored everything. Plenty of bars, pools, and space to enjoy though. With the bars, I’d suggest springing for the drink package if you can, as it covers most of the drinks offered on board and has no limit, meaning you can quickly make your money’s worth if you feel like drinking. The staff I will say were overall friendly and helpful, no real positive or negative stories to share except for a little confusion as to where we needed to go during the muster drill, where we were directed into a “crew only” area but then informed we weren’t supposed to be there (oops!). Comparatively, I’d probably stick to NCL for some of the familiarity, but MSC wasn’t terrible for what it was worth.
Pro tip for using a knife to cut through a chocolate sculpture: fill a tall glass with nearly boiling water. Let the knife sit in the water for a couple minutes, then slice right through the chocolate like butter. Re-dip the knife in the water between slices for nice clean cuts.
Refreshing. Well done. You are the only one that get me to watch the full review! Like your style. Almost all Caribbean cruises are sailing at very low capacity but as in that one not everything is open (if not necessary or cost effective). Love it. Have done three already at very good prices (solo cruiser).
Hi Emma, I think that people are still gun shy as far as cruises are concerned. We have cruises out of Cairns, that takes you around the northern Islands and it’s a real bargain, but this Covid thing hasn’t really gone away in most peoples minds!
I cruised on MSC Divina back in September on a 4 night Caribbean trip and there were less than 900 people onboard. I had a fantastic time, so I went back in December to do the same trip on Meraviglia. MSC is such a bargain, especially for a solo traveler.
@@JuancoPRoFlow I just cruised on the Divina 2 weeks ago. We did a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and it was fantastic for the price. Very relaxing, unbelievably clean ship. They cleaned our room at least twice a day.
I just finished up 14 days on the Meraviglia. Since I did back to back cruises, I got champagne and a chocolate ship for each voyage. I bring utensils from the buffet to my room, along with a plate to cut up the chocolate ships. A fork works better than a knife, but shrapnel will go everywhere. I brought my second ship home and found it was much easier to cut up because it's milk chocolate instead of the dark chocolate I've always had. I agree MSC is a very good line that is a bit different.
Nice extensive review and video. Keep up the good work! As someone who goes camping or plans every aspect by myself, I would never do a cruise and even avoid staying at hotels when I can. But this travel style intrigues me from time to time. I can't wrap my head around these floating cities including multiple full theater productions and all its other features. Bombarding port cities with thousands of very short term tourist visitors. It's not for me, but it boggles my mind this industry is still existing and how it even got here in the first place.
Loved your video! I would love to cruise again (we've been on I think 13 cruises). However, our age (80 for both of us) sort of stops us as we are not as nimble as we were in 1999 when we enjoyed our first cruise. Thank you for making us a part of your cruise!!
What I'd suggest is when you visit these caribbean ports, to head to their passport offices and get your passport stamped. It can be a nice souvenir if you're into that. (Nassau Bahamas does this if you ask for it)
Glad to hear it was positive for you. We wanted a cruise that was based in Port Canaveral, and the 7-night Western Caribbean on the MCS Meraviglia was by far the best value for money. We too only had about 25% occupancy. We loved the amazing ship and the kind and helpful staff. We aren't big on theatre shows so we never even checked them out. We'd spend our evenings in the Sky Lounge and enjoyed the Latin Duo--and they certainly appreciated our nightly loyalty. All-in-all, we had zero complaints and a great time. We certainly tipped several staff more than usual not only for their attentiveness but for some encouragement for having come through a lot of down time due to the shutdown. We heard a couple comments (suggesting not bad but not great) about food, but honestly, do we really need to eat like gluttons for seven days? One can hardly go hungry, and there is enough variety to make about any diet work. As low-carb'ers, we managed splendidly.
I love the chocolate ship, too. I actually cruised a second time on the Meraviglia, because I specifically wanted the Jean-Philllipe chocolate. I have found a serrated bread knife works best on the chocolate ships. I cut off a tiny bit and then put it away, to keep myself from over-indulging. MSC doesn’t have a single supplement, and I cannot justify spending more to travel on another cruise line, when I travel solo, because it’s such a great deal.
I have absolutely no desire to cruise but I find your videos so entertaining, especially with what's going on right now. Thank you for this bit of escapism.
I’ve watched all your videos Emma and I’m now going on my first ever cruise next month! I’m booked with MSC for 6 days around the Mediterranean. Has cost me £450 including drinks package, gratuities and I’ve been given a free balcony upgrade. At this price I thought I couldn’t go wrong so why not give it a try!
For anyone looking for a great cruise in the Caribbean, I recommend Costa Cruises, while it's not as flashy as some other cruises the food was fantastic and the service was pretty top-notch. However, keep in mind this was pre-pandemic.
Recent follower, love your vlogs so much. Never thought I'd ever want to cruise but amazed to how much is available! Thanks for the acute and informative Information. Ah peace ✌️ 😂
You can't beat MSC for solo price cruisers. I'm boarding Seashore on 03/19/2022. I found an interior cabin in the Yacht Club for $1500. I know that sounds expensive but it is very reasonable for all of the perks that come with that experience.
@@debrajones4840 Several notables ones. Priority embarkation and de-embarkation. At embarkation you have a separate check-in area with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Premium adult beverage package including mini bar, free access to the thermal spa area, priority elevator access, private restaurant, lounge, pool deck with pool, and hot tubs, pool bar and grill. Separate access on and off the ship at port stops. Private beach, restaurant, and bar on Ocean Cay (MSC private island), and numerous other small but nice amenities. 16:48 It reminds of "Portuguese bread" that I once had at a restaurant. I like your video. No wasted time. You get right into it. youtube suggested it to me. subscribed!
My first MSC cruise was in 2012 as well. It was a Mediterranean cruise on the Splendida. Beautiful ship but the crew was rather unfriendly. I haven’t been on an MSC cruise since but would definitely be willing to try it again.
The Seashore is made for the American market (hence the name), although it will be spending time in Brazil at the end of the year. I would expect the crew to be a bit friendlier just because US standards for service are different than European ones. I can't say first-hand, but a Caribbean cruise on a ship with an English name would probably be a good way to give MSC another shot.
Cruises are actually fun and a nice way to travel, I have no regrets and love being on a cruise, its so easy and convenient. I would just recommend becoming a member of at least one company so you can accumulate miles and enjoy all the rewards and benefits as time goes on.
Just a tip: for that chocolate ship --- put it in a large ziploc bag, place it on a counter top, and hit it with a hammer to break it into smaller pieces so you can eat it. I have done that with large chocolate bars that were too thick to break apart by hand.
Hi Emma... I'm from the States and I really like your videos. I appreciate all of the expertise you give your viewers. I'm actually thinking about cruising again (the last time was on Norwegian more than 20 years ago), and I'm looking forward to using your course about saving money.
Great to see someone bigging up MSC. I did a TA some years back: Rio to Dover... and it was truly amazing. Yeap, I'd sail with them again when the time is right.
We love your vlog! Our first cruise is end of the month for a week on the MSC Orchestra. We Afrikaans people use who all speak English as a second language (universal language in RSA) - use both Suncream and Sunscreen depending on what language we use - Afrikaans we say "Sonroom" which in English is Suncream - But when we speak English we say "Sunscreen" :)
I'm heading out on the MSC Seashore next month, here's to hoping it goes as well as your trip! I am especially hoping for reduced capacity, but who knows how things will be.
About your motion sickness, try drinking fresh ginger tea or carry a ginger root and nibble on the root. It doesn’t take much. I like the taste of fresh ginger but if you don’t you can get used to it quickly if it works to mitigate your motion sickness. Motion sickness will ruin a trip quickly.
Great video. This cruise was inexpensive but only in dollar amounts. The experiences you described would have been described as relatively luxurious in most circumstances. If I was interested in the southern Caribbean, I would be more likely to consider it, but ports of call are still important to me. However, for the price you paid for this cruise I'm almost tempted to try this cruise but only almost.
This is the best cruise that you can do! MSC + Caribbean... Every day a different place. The best choise! And the ship is amazing! Lots of sunny places to live your experience, very beautifil indoor place space and I love the cabins style. Greetings from Italy!
i remember my dad went on a cruise a couple of years ago with some friends and they got it cheap because it was during what is called off season. where cruise ships don't have many passengers on board and they have to go from one destination to another.
The ship looks really good 👍. The reduced capacity is a big bonus and makes you wonder if we would ever feel comfortable going back to max capacity 🥴. Great vlog Emma 🤓. M&Y
Very good video. I have never cruised before, I've only been on overnight ferries. It was very interesting to see how the ship was, and how things waas working. I've heard some bad things about MSC from other youtubers, so I'm happy this turned out to be a good cruise. Happy cruising!!
heed the warning from other vloggers; I would take any other cruise or none at all rather than MSC. The bad experiences and food are real. When you have 20 different vloggers (young , old, children, single . . .) all mentioning facts describing an unpleasant experience on MSC, it is real.
Thanks for adding to my cruising enjoyment by expanding my knowledge. We started cruising on the brand new Cunard Princess in late 1970’s and our last cruise was on Oceania’s Regatta at 7 times the price. By upgrading each time, we have’s always been delighted. On the few cruses that were a step down, they were just OK, never bad.
I'm not sure how your older videos have started popping up on my feed, but I'm not complaining. 23% capacity must've been remarkable - this is roughly what my first sailing on Virtuosa was like, and it felt at times like we had the ship to ourselves (or were sharing it with VERY FEW people!).
That was hella impressive! Found your channel on random and always thought cruise ships were floating sick factories but this kinda made me want to try one out! I mean with covid they were very dodgy here in aus but im sure thats cleaned up! Great vid!
Ooooh..look at that fancy You Tube subscribers award!❤️❤️❤️ Congratulations! Also, I love how frugal you are, that $5 on an umbrella is a splurge. As you lovely Brits say, "Brilliant!" 😊😊
Loved this video. So much great info. I was so afraid to go with MSC for a September European cruise. The prices were tempting but the reviews were scary. Ended up going with Princess but I hope I can do an MSC cruise later on thanks to this video. Thanks for all the work.
I randomly saw some guy doing yacht tours in RUclips and then I stumbled upon your videos lol. RUclips is weird but now I'm a regular on your channel! And I've never been on a cruise 😂
Hi Emma I’ve been watching your videos for hours now 😂 I’m from the Virgin Islands and realize that you put footage from Tortola as Antigua, and Antigua as Tortola. Just wanted to let you know 😅😅😅 I still loved this video and your many others, just an observation lol
We were on MSC Seaside (first of the class) 4 months after it was introduced and we really enjoyed the layout of the ship. We would definitely go on that class of ship again. We were on Meraviglia and we weren't as impressed. Thanks for your vlogs, love your input.
Came across your video and thought to myself, oh another cruise RUclips video... But I found myself watching this video from start to finish. Appreciate your energy and your presentation. You seem very likeable Emma....

Awesome you visited my island on Tortola in British Virgin Islands 🇻🇬. those open buses are called “Safari Buses . Mostly used for tourists and school children . Glad you had a great time visiting . Hopefully you can visit again soon.😁
We cruised MSC years ago and were seriously unimpressed, never sailed them again. But having done one out of the US last fall, I was seriously IMpressed that they actually enforced Covid rules. The line we took last fall ignored so many infractions, we thought it might never be sensible to cruise again. Good news can come from the strangest sources.
In the old days, muster drills you had to go to your actually boat loading station. We stood crowded and sweating for around 45 minutes while instructions were called out🤔😯
Great video as always, I did my first cruice a couple of months ago (with MSC) and loved it, so I'm looking for the next one, thanks for sharing all your in depth knowledge and great information.
I was on this ship last September in Italy. I didn't see any good food and especially meat in the entire week. The service- en excursiondesks had waiting lines that took forever and promises were not kept. You could only leave the ship with MSC excursions. I found them pretty expensive, especialy when you have no choice. The entertainment was really bad. And I hated the (lack of) policy around the deck chairs. Apparently, here too, if you put "something" on it, the chair is "yours" all day. Most of the time, there was no chair left free, but it was often the case that only 10% was really in use. The cabin was ok. I promised myself never to go with MSC again, but I must say, it looks much better now...
Great video! This is the first of your videos I've seen and I really like the production quality, your narration and the details you include. You seem to cover all the important points and I love the personal bits you include, like the story of the guy who was at all the theater programs, sitting in the same seat and always giving a standing ovation. I have dabbled in vlogging and appreciate the effort you must be putting into your videos. Thanks!
I can say ive been working on MSC for 5 years now and they have started lifting standards alot past 2 years. Was actually on seaview a few months ago before it did crossing.
I love your channel! I’m nineteen, have only been on a Disney cruise, so I definitely never gave cruises much thought. Your channel is really inspiring and I love how passionate you are about cruises! I want to go on a cruise now🤣💞
You should really try sailing with AIDA! (Especially one off the newer ships; AIDAnova, Prima, Perla or Cosma) It's a German company and I love it, I find it one off the best I've ever been on. Love the food, service and look off the ships! I don't find them very pricey, (about €85,= per day) and it's absolutely worth it!! (If you're there, try the LUNA Bar and the Market Restaurant, love those!(Also, upgrading is a must there, it's extremely cheap, we've done it twice and it was only €50,= for 3, going from inside cabin to balcony)) Greetings, Cavin Kamphuis, Netherlands
@Cavin, can you advise what it is like for non-German speaking people on these ships please? I have been tempted to try them but don’t speak any German.
@@carolinepratt4880 Crew speaks English, most younger Germans too. But you have to bear in mind that all the announcements are in German and all the conversations people have to each other are in German.
Hi Emma, I was sorry to see you upset the other day about people’s comments. Worring about what some peabrains say isn’t worth it, but I know it hurts. For what it’s worth you seem like a very nice person, and I enjoy your programme very much. It has taken me a while to get your accent lol. Keep up the good work.

I'm a chef that was working for Royal Caribbean, during the pandemic we had skeleton crews onboard, there was only 68 of us on the whole ship, we used to do crew bbq's, movie nights etc. It was amazing, best contract of my life
Noice
a skeleton crew sailing on the caribbean sounds like a jolly good time
If u wuz all skeletons how did you eat and drink
which ship was it? :O
that sounds like a great movie
As an introvert, someone on a budget, & someone who doesn't like fancy food or dressing up, this sounds like my perfect cruise.
MSC is fantastic for solo cruisers! You'll have a wonderful time even with an inside cabin! Don't forget that you don't need a balcony to be outside and enjoy the sun :) I love Ocean Views because I get the outside light that I can (usually) sit up in.
For me as well, except I will never wear a mask unless I need to prank scare someone.
Grow up.
A cruise that was at 25% capacity would be my favorite.
I hate crowds.
Generally I like to just go to a place and visit rather than cruise because of that.
Me too. I actually want to get a balcony suite and just stay inside the entire time and look at the water. lol
Its a shame that the operators wouldn’t stay in business at that price and occupation.
Yes, 50% will be maximum for me, I don't like too crowded or many kids lol
MSC service was pretty bad before the pandemic so, may not end up to be a great deal if the ship has more people.
I went on a Disney cruise with 25% capacity and it was amazing
I've seen some bad behavior by passengers on cruises as well. In the dining room, a woman from Wales started yelling and blaming the waiter for the "bad food", no matter how he tried to please her. I spoke to the head waiter and told him to disregard any complaints towards the poor boy. I also left a commendation for him at the end of the cruise.
Hard working humble people supporting their family far from home. They are fantastic at their jobs and usually under appreciated. Respect.
The crew work long hours, 7 days a week, and are often away from home for 9 or 10 months, earning just £1000-£1,500 a month. They sometimes have to put up with rude, arrogant, snobbish and offensive passengers, whilst maintaining a big smile…can’t be easy! 🥴

Xx

I agree that I would never do a cruise. It all looks like you are on a shopping mall on the water with way too many people. No thanks!
My favourite cruise reviewer. 😊😊
I took my first MSC cruise in 2021. For the money it was the best deal I've ever gotten for a cruise. As you stated it wasn't the same as NCL but it was almost half the price. As for capacity I went on the Meraviglia in December and there were only 670 out of a possible 5642 (
Yesss!! Sounds awesome 😊❤️

Cheers.
100% agree about the customer service you get being linked to how to act. Being polite costs nothing.
Emma is so good with her presentation, great information, very down to earth honest and humble. Love it.
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
You probably already thought of this, but MSC Cruises prices are very competitive likely because the cruise line is owned by MSC, the Mediterranean Shipping Company, which their primary moneymaker is cargo shipping. The cruises get financial backing from the cargo shipping income.
I always thought they were NEW to the cruise industry and are trying to gain a following before prices climb.
Emma’s a NATURAL ! (She’s the type you could introduce to your Mother straight away! Lol :))))
Thanks.
Haha, thanks so much Grant 😊❤️
Your reviews are spectacular. I have no intention of cruising but your videos are so thoughtfully detailed and interesting. Way better than any other travel reviews I've seen or read (planes, hotels, etc). Great job!
Thanks so much 😊❤️
Just when I thought the days of cruise deals were over, that seems like a great value. The only deal like that I ever managed to find was $99pp total for a 5 day cruise on Norwegian Sky in the Bahamas. Would have definitely been a steal had we been locals and not needed to fly
You need to find one of these cruises where they give you £17 a day.
Thank you for these. I've never cruised before, although I've thought about it. Your videos are so clear and understandable I find myself wanting to schedule a cruise as soon as I can afford it. In the meantime, I'm living vicariously through all of your videos!
Thanks Marty! Really appreciate that 😊❤️
Marty! I never cruised and have been afraid to because I can't swim and afraid of the sea. A young 28 now former co-worker of mine who began cruising in college begged me every year to try cruising. In 2019, MY wife and I decided to try it, went with about 10 other friends, went on a 7 day carribean cruise and absolutley LOVED it and we were 64 yrs young
We are HOOKED! Went on another 7 day cruise in '20 prior to the plandemic and can't wait to go again. It is the best way to vacation and were it not for the mask mandates and testing we would be on board now!!! I have wasted so much of my younger years having been afraid to cruise so GO!!!
Hahahah! that’s incredible. What a coincidence 🤣❤️
Where do you get the flights from
@@louisaL1980 Mine were booked through MSC :-)
I love watching RUclips reviews of msc. Really seems like my type of chill, fun, practical cruising
I definitely wouldn't recommend them for you... but we already knew that! ;)
depends on your expectations. Most want "budget price" for a luxury cruise experience. If you want luxury you have to pay for it.
Very thoroughly. I enjoyed reading your experience.
@@mariefraher8725 thank you. I did not know anything about the Yacht Club level. Good to know.
Thanks so much, trying my best and doing everything myself so really appreciate it 😊
Wow, what a great deal! :)
I overheard people next to me saying the food on that cruise was much better than on their previous cruise...and it was on MSC. They said they thought MSC's food was very bland. :o
Oh my! That’s incredible. 👍🏼🥳
That is so awesome !!
You do such a wonderful job of reviewing your cruise experiences! I knew you'd gone to the Caribbean, and as a Florida girl, I was hoping and praying that you had brought a good, high SPF sunscreen....or suncream! I like suncream. Good job, Emma!
Ha ha!! Thanks Nita, I did 😀❤️
Was this a 7-night cruise? That fare is amazing. I'm surprised they didn't offer you a free room upgrade though! At least to an oceanview.
Emma, the 23% Caribbean cruise! My Dad and his wife were on this cruise. They usually sail Norwegian but MSC gave them a great deal!
Solid chocolate cake use a heavy duty serrated ham cutting blade. Heat it a little over a stove and it should work fine.

You should learn to swim.
Great video as usual. I am a solo traveller. So a video with hints and tips for going solo would be great. Msc charges double!
I think Sun cream should be the "Britishism of the week" LOL Awesome review as usual!!

Ha ha, I would have done that but then I know people in the UK who say sunscreen so I’m sure there’s cross over, there always is 😅❤️
Travelled on the MSC Seashore with my family a month ago for the first time after several NCL cruises.
On the flip side disembarkation couldn’t have been easier (going through Customs was a breeze too)
Everything else was mediocre or great by our standards.
Thanks J! I try to keep things fast and changing to keep your interest, I know time is precious I don’t want to waste it. 😊❤️
How was the Divina ship? Was it luxurious? Did they have meat on the menu.
Thanks Carmen ❤️
Exactly! Foods unlimited on a cruise if you don’t like something you can get a different thing, ha ha. Thank you! 😁❤️
Ha ha, that’s a great idea 😊👏🏼
Great to know they don’t change a single supplement, thanks
I have absolutely no desire to cruise but I find your videos so entertaining, especially with what's going on right now. Thank you for this bit of escapism.
Glad you enjoyed 😊❤️
I’ve watched all your videos Emma and I’m now going on my first ever cruise next month! I’m booked with MSC for 6 days around the Mediterranean. Has cost me £450 including drinks package, gratuities and I’ve been given a free balcony upgrade. At this price I thought I couldn’t go wrong so why not give it a try!
Yesss 😁🙌
12:48 YES!
As a flight attendant, I can confirm this. THANK YOU for saying it!
🤣❤️
Have a great time! Every so often I look up last minute fares on MSC just window-shopping a getaway. One of these days I'll get there. :)
That’s great!!! 😀🙏
What type of extras do you get?
@@debrajones4840 Several notables ones. Priority embarkation and de-embarkation. At embarkation you have a separate check-in area with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Once you are checked in, your butler escorts you to your room. If you want your luggage unpacked and packed that is provided. Twenty four hour room service (free). Be warned, once you try the Yacht Club you may not want to go back to "regular" cruises! This is my second Yacht Club cruise in three months.
16:48 It reminds of "Portuguese bread" that I once had at a restaurant. I like your video. No wasted time. You get right into it. youtube suggested it to me. subscribed!
Thank you! 😁❤️
I stumbled across one of your other posts and now I'm hooked. A delightful production in every respect.
Thanks David! If you’ve got any questions you can send me a message inside podia (where the course is held) and I’ll get back to you asap 😊❤️
Great to see someone bigging up MSC. I did a TA some years back: Rio to Dover... and it was truly amazing. Yeap, I'd sail with them again when the time is right.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
We love your vlog!
Our first cruise is end of the month for a week on the MSC Orchestra.
We Afrikaans people use who all speak English as a second language (universal language in RSA) - use both Suncream and Sunscreen depending on what language we use -
Afrikaans we say "Sonroom" which in English is Suncream - But when we speak English we say "Sunscreen" :)
I'm heading out on the MSC Seashore next month, here's to hoping it goes as well as your trip! I am especially hoping for reduced capacity, but who knows how things will be.
Keeping evening crossed for you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes!!! So luxurious. 🥳👍🏼
Ha ha 🤣🤣
This is the best cruise that you can do! MSC + Caribbean... Every day a different place. The best choise! And the ship is amazing! Lots of sunny places to live your experience, very beautifil indoor place space and I love the cabins style. Greetings from Italy!
i remember my dad went on a cruise a couple of years ago with some friends and they got it cheap because it was during what is called off season. where cruise ships don't have many passengers on board and they have to go from one destination to another.
The thought of you gnawing on the chocolate ship is hilarious! :) Thanks for the vid, loved it!
The ship looks really good 👍. The reduced capacity is a big bonus and makes you wonder if we would ever feel comfortable going back to max capacity 🥴. Great vlog Emma 🤓. M&Y
🥳🥳🥳
This was the first video I've seen from your channel and I much enjoyed it.
Thank you
Very good video. I have never cruised before, I've only been on overnight ferries. It was very interesting to see how the ship was, and how things waas working. I've heard some bad things about MSC from other youtubers, so I'm happy this turned out to be a good cruise. Happy cruising!!
Absolutely the best, not all the other MSC cruises have been this good (but never bad) 😊❤️
heed the warning from other vloggers; I would take any other cruise or none at all rather than MSC. The bad experiences and food are real. When you have 20 different vloggers (young , old, children, single . . .) all mentioning facts describing an unpleasant experience on MSC, it is real.
Just wanted to say, found your channel recently and I’m glued. Keep up the fun videos.
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Thanks for adding to my cruising enjoyment by expanding my knowledge. We started cruising on the brand new Cunard Princess in late 1970’s and our last cruise was on Oceania’s Regatta at 7 times the price. By upgrading each time, we have’s always been delighted. On the few cruses that were a step down, they were just OK, never bad.
Yeah! Thanks Rick 😊❤️
I'm not sure how your older videos have started popping up on my feed, but I'm not complaining. 23% capacity must've been remarkable - this is roughly what my first sailing on Virtuosa was like, and it felt at times like we had the ship to ourselves (or were sharing it with VERY FEW people!).
Hahah!! Thanks magic RUclips 😅❤️
That was hella impressive! Found your channel on random and always thought cruise ships were floating sick factories but this kinda made me want to try one out! I mean with covid they were very dodgy here in aus but im sure thats cleaned up! Great vid!
i wonder what happens after Emma drinks rum.
Ooooh..look at that fancy You Tube subscribers award!❤️❤️❤️ Congratulations! Also, I love how frugal you are, that $5 on an umbrella is a splurge. As you lovely Brits say, "Brilliant!" 😊😊
Ha ha!! Thanks Lisa 😊❤️
I've really enjoyed watching your videos. You're very informative, thorough, neutral about your feedback, and clear in how you explain things. 😎
Brilliant video Emma. I watch all of your videos that was another good one. I am definitely going to book one of those. Take care and stay safe. Tom.
Loved this video. So much great info. I was so afraid to go with MSC for a September European cruise. The prices were tempting but the reviews were scary. Ended up going with Princess but I hope I can do an MSC cruise later on thanks to this video. Thanks for all the work.
Thanks Rebecca!! 😊😊😊
I randomly saw some guy doing yacht tours in RUclips and then I stumbled upon your videos lol. RUclips is weird but now I'm a regular on your channel! And I've never been on a cruise 😂
Hahah! I love this!! Thank you! 😁❤️
£15 per day for internet access seems high but 11 Euro for a room service Pizza is cheaper than my local takeaway. Nice review thanks
Thank you! 😁❤️ I liked both but yeah totally different designs of ships. 😊👏🏼
what happens if those slide tubes crack open and the guy falls out into the ocean below, emma?
Came across your video and thought to myself, oh another cruise RUclips video... But I found myself watching this video from start to finish. Appreciate your energy and your presentation. You seem very likeable Emma....
Hahah. Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
Esta inglesa sabe de tudo sobre cruzeiros - com vídeos super didáticos, demais disso, a sua dicção é perfeita, ótimo para quem quer treinar os ouvidos para o inglês britânico.
Awesome you visited my island on Tortola in British Virgin Islands 🇻🇬. those open buses are called “Safari Buses . Mostly used for tourists and school children . Glad you had a great time visiting . Hopefully you can visit again soon.😁
Yea! So fun. Thank you! 😁❤️
Ha ha, Thanks for watching. 🥳👏🏼
In the old days, muster drills you had to go to your actually boat loading station. We stood crowded and sweating for around 45 minutes while instructions were called out🤔😯
You are a very articulate person, and I enjoy listening to you. You would make a wonderful newscaster.
Great video as always, I did my first cruice a couple of months ago (with MSC) and loved it, so I'm looking for the next one, thanks for sharing all your in depth knowledge and great information.
You are to be applauded for showing us the specific adult films on offer - this is the cruise information we really need.
🤣🫡
I’m from the US and I have never heard ’sunscream’ replaced for sunscreen. Love your videos and especially the British-isms.
Suncream, not sunscream
Thanks!
Thanks lots Matt 😊❤️
I can say ive been working on MSC for 5 years now and they have started lifting standards alot past 2 years. Was actually on seaview a few months ago before it did crossing.
I love your channel! I’m nineteen, have only been on a Disney cruise, so I definitely never gave cruises much thought. Your channel is really inspiring and I love how passionate you are about cruises! I want to go on a cruise now🤣💞
Thanks so much. 😀❤️
I’d love to 😍
@Cavin, can you advise what it is like for non-German speaking people on these ships please? I have been tempted to try them but don’t speak any German.
@@carolinepratt4880 Crew speaks English, most younger Germans too. But you have to bear in mind that all the announcements are in German and all the conversations people have to each other are in German.
Hi Emma, I was sorry to see you upset the other day about people’s comments. Worring about what some peabrains say isn’t worth it, but I know it hurts. For what it’s worth you seem like a very nice person, and I enjoy your programme very much. It has taken me a while to get your accent lol. Keep up the good work.
Haha, Thank you! 😁❤️
