Tabac has been my first shaving soap and i used this soap for more than 2 years every day, i absolutely love it. One puck lasts atleast one year, even when you use it daily and here in germany it costs about 6 pounds 👍 with the bowl 11 pounds. btw when i asked my wife to put some flowers to my shave den, well... she bought me a cactus hahaha 😂
Hahaha nice humour. I have a huge bottle of Tabac EDC and I love it. It reminds me very much of a male version of Chanel #5. I absolutely love it. Not really a young man's scent - but one can get away with it if they conduct themselves accordingly.
And please give our thanks to Mrs. H, for all the beautiful arrangements; they always seem to set the mood. No arrangements, and the shave wouldn't seem right!

That scent is described as "smelling like the inside of an old ladies purse"! I actually did like the smell of it but my face/skin just didn't get along with it and was sensitive to it. Glad you like it and thanks for another nice shave.

There's just something about Tabac, I don't don't know what but it's an intriguing scent. Hi Paul! I have returned from the trip and family get together. We made the best of it. I'm always looking for great shaving soaps and Tabac is on the list. Heck, if it was good enough for the Beatles, it is good enough for me. I have acquired many vintage tallow soaps and the performance of classics are second to none. The Tabac, Parker, and Astra has done the job superbly. Always a treat to watch you shave. Mrs. H is quite gifted and ought to open a florist shop...I always enjoy her arrangements. Take care Paul.

Thank you Paul. Honestly, it was a funeral for my Aunt, but we had family get togethers and visit to relatives that couldn't make it. I did look for some vintage shaving items are antique stores. I am a proud owner of a pre-1960's box (carton) of Williams Mug soap that contains 3 pre-1960's pucks. Now I have some of the best Williams Mug soap ever made. If I can learn to make videos...I will post.
A fine shave Paul, that was an excellent one. 😌👏 late Friday night and I finally got a chance to watch you. Tabac for me too on Tuesday, I love its unique scent, I can't think of many soaps that lather so easily and the performance is outstanding. I bloom soaps when I feel like it, and I don't believe there's any issues in doing so as long as you let your soaps air dry. Beautiful flowers LH, the appreciation is mutual 😌💐

Just like mrs H's flowers..all soaps and flowers must Blume ..Good shave Paul...Bought a puck of Tobac and put it on the shelf for a special shave..then forgot about it...Found it this week...great soap...great lather....Defin high end soap...The smell is different but satisfactory....The Parker is the one to have now...But I still like my progress...Think some of the flowers are mums..maybe...lol...Astra blades are the best value....Hi Alice ...don't play with ducks..Paul puts them all in the oven...only Thayers will cross my cheeks...I have a alum block..but never seem to use it...Water cleans the pores and rids the body of toxins...drink quite a bit myself.....well enjoy your Tobac smell ..till Sunday ..cheers ! 🇬🇧🇺🇸📫💈

Just had a Tabac shave on Monday. No blooming, Omega boar brush, gathered soap for about 10 seconds - enough lather for 3 passes and I also shaved the back of my neck. Also not my favourite soap but it will never let you down and you get good results. Tends to dry up quite fast when you make warm lather in a scuttle with it, but most soaps do so. Long lasting soap in a nice dish, it has been around for ages for a reason.
Great video Paul, thanks. I can understand why people classify this as a more mature scent. Usually florals are perceived as feminine but ironically something about this makes it masculine, I think it’s the complexity and the old-school smell it exudes; also the fact that there’s something brazen and independent about a bloke who’s not afraid to wear some warm florals. I’m 33 and think I’m old enough to rep Tabac. I really like it, it’s the sort of scent that grows on you. Honestly, if I had of known of it when I was 21 I probably would have used it then too. Manly scents don’t always need to smell like wood and smoke.

Here's an idea for you; you could get Mrs. H. to give you the name of the flowers and then you could briefly scroll them on the screen as you're panning over them. Then guys could reference that when they're in the doghouse and need to order flowers quickly...lol. You'll know when you see somebody only watched the first 30 seconds what's happened.

Hi Paul. Thanks heaps for another great video. I've got the tabac range which I bought at Melbourne airport and now use when I travel. It is a great performing shave soap & cream and gives a great shave. But, like you say - the scent is a little on the old fashioned side without being nostalgic (i.e. Old Spice etc.) Thanks again mate!

Hi Paul, Had a fab shave tonight. Prorasso Red Preshave Cream, Tabac Soap, and unscented Moisturiser. Amazing close shave using an Astra Geen Blade in the Parker Semi Slant. Highly recommend. Stevie in Fife.
Great shave, Paul. And kudos to the missus ...her flower arranging would put a a cultured Japanese noblewoman to shame. Tabac? One of my all time favouite performers and I quite like the scent, clean, powdery, floral and a hint of tobacco flower as well. Not to everyone's taste though I have to admit. Quite the polarising scent. I travel with a stick of the stuff, swipe if around, wet brush and boom..ready to shave in seconds. I'm slowly getting to like the Parker 'Variant'. I find it a little ungainly but I find I can get a very nice, close, comfortable shave now I have worked out all the handle angles for the settings. Keep up the great work, Paul. As always, much appreciated and greatly anticipated each week.

Nice video, thank you. I just got a Tabac soap in its lovely jar, and the smell instantly reminded me of the soaps our barber used when I was a conscript in South Pacific about 30 years ago. I'm pretty sure his "rice powder" pump bottle did smell like that as well. So many memories... Right, I'm off to try a very nice Rockwell T2 for the very first time, after cutting off most of my beard of 10 years. Very sad day but trying to make the most of it with a nice blade. Hi Paul there is a + on the Parker Variant, my son have set this razor on 5+5 for the first 2 passes and the 3 pass on 5+4, that's the most agresive setting you can set on this razor, my son has not one cut or weeper after the shaving.
Got to try my new Parker Variant last night (also with Astra Green). Fantastic razor. But .2.5 was plenty for me. I'll not be outgrowing this anytime soon! Cheers to you and Mrs. H!

I’m a bit late to the game here, but I totally get what you mean about the splash smelling the same as the soap but better. I feel like that with Proraso red. The cream smells like wet leaves and dirt. The lotion smells exactly the same but it’s such a very masculine good scent. My favorite aftershave.

Hello Paul! I've been tempted to get the Tabac but for some reason have held off. You seem to have similar feelings as I do about the Body Shop Maca Root shaving cream. The scent doesn't curl my toes, but the slickness and lather is super. Fantastic shave BTW. Cheers!

Say what you will about the scent, my man, but the performance? Fantastic. I can see the excellent consistency of the lather in the video. Fantastic post shave feel, no? The stick is a staple for me. I’ve used my SLAB for a first pass and my 34 c for secondary passes..... I think it’s a grand idea, I don’t own an adjustable so that’s my version of what you did on this shave. Btw, you’ve got my interest up on the Tobac I’ll order some, I like the way they package it in the porcelain bowl, that’s quite nice.
Great shave Paul ! I've never really been keen on the smell of tabac but I went into boots last week and gave it the old sniff test, true what you say about things changing I'm pushing 30 now and have found that I actually quite like it 👍🏻
Nice shave paul. I love the smell of tabac. Do you know of any coal tar scented shaving soaps that are easy to get hold of? I love wrights coal tar soap and wish I could get a shaving soap to match it.

Haha this is the strangest coincidence in a long time! Last night before going to bed I prepared the shave for this morning (as i usually do), and can you guess what soap and aftershave I brought out to use? Thats right; Tabac Original! Baffled to see the title of this shaving-vid. when I woke up, to say the least haha! Btw, lately I've been using the Bic Chrome Platinum blades in different razors, all of which have lasted me 12+++ shaves and still going strong! I also have the Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack from India, but those never give me more than 5 shaves, at best... Highly recommend you try out the Bic's, they are so smooth (for me, anyways haha). Hay!! Paul great shave!! In here in the state a store Kmart is going out of business. I stopped to check on double chins they just sold out. I was thinking of buying one to use it in the future. Not sure how to use them.
I would describe the scent of Tabac as an acquired scent. When I first had a whiff of it I was repelled. I think that the combination of it dying down a bit and me getting accustomed to it made it useable. Great soap, though.
Have you tried their After Shave Balsam? Also really good, i had almost any kind of products of Tabac, even the hair tonic which i just used today after 2 years again :D
I've always wondered about Tabac. I have never ordered it but I have heard only good things about it. There are so many good artisan soaps out there (and I have only one lifetime to try them out) that Tabac has not found its way into my den yet.
Great video! I’ve been DE shaving for a few weeks and tried the ASTRA green blade in a Wilkinson sword classic for the first time today. I nicked my so many times i ended up switching to a DERBY extra blade to finish the shave.. maybe it’s my technique or lack off but I wasn’t impressed with this blade.
I have the vintage sister of Tabac, named Tabora, discontinued now, i could send a slice if you wanna try it out?? Shaves almost better than Tabac, almost uncented tho. 👍👍
uuuh Tabac, love the deodorant , cologne, after shave...havent got around to use the shave soap yet i have it though shaving stick and cream as well also hair & body wash lmao....BUT dosen´t beat Old Spice Original well new version of Original smells the same last less time as you know ..have every deodorant aftershave cologne balm but no shaving soap or stick :(....o´have the body soap for the shower :)

Correction: Tabac aint in porcelain, it is in arcopal. Edit: Yesterday i had a great shave with THE Tabac soap and Gillette G2000 and Shark SS blades and Brut AS + Bepanthen Cream. Blooming the soap is the key! Cheers.

Had a fab shave tonight. Prorasso Red Preshave Cream, Tabac Soap, and unscented Moisturiser. Amazing close shave using an Astra Geen Blade in the Parker Semi Slant.
Highly recommend.

Tabac? One of my all time favouite performers and I quite like the scent, clean, powdery, floral and a hint of tobacco flower as well. Not to everyone's taste though I have to admit. Quite the polarising scent. I travel with a stick of the stuff, swipe if around, wet brush and boom..ready to shave in seconds.
I'm slowly getting to like the Parker 'Variant'. I find it a little ungainly but I find I can get a very nice, close, comfortable shave now I have worked out all the handle angles for the settings.

I just got a Tabac soap in its lovely jar, and the smell instantly reminded me of the soaps our barber used when I was a conscript in South Pacific about 30 years ago.
I'm pretty sure his "rice powder" pump bottle did smell like that as well.

Right, I'm off to try a very nice Rockwell T2 for the very first time, after cutting off most of my beard of 10 years.
Very sad day but trying to make the most of it with a nice blade.

Hi Paul there is a + on the Parker Variant, my son have set this razor on 5+5 for the first 2 passes and the 3 pass on 5+4, that's the most agresive setting you can set on this razor, my son has not one cut or weeper after the shaving.

I’m a bit late to the game here, but I totally get what you mean about the splash smelling the same as the soap but better. I feel like that with Proraso red. The cream smells like wet leaves and dirt. The lotion smells exactly the same but it’s such a very masculine good scent. My favorite aftershave.

Hello Paul! I've been tempted to get the Tabac but for some reason have held off. You seem to have similar feelings as I do about the Body Shop Maca Root shaving cream. The scent doesn't curl my toes, but the slickness and lather is super. Fantastic shave BTW. Cheers!

I’ve used my SLAB for a first pass and my 34 c for secondary passes..... I think it’s a grand idea, I don’t own an adjustable so that’s my version of what you did on this shave. Btw, you’ve got my interest up on the Tobac I’ll order some, I like the way they package it in the porcelain bowl, that’s quite nice.
Great shave Paul ! I've never really been keen on the smell of tabac but I went into boots last week and gave it the old sniff test, true what you say about things changing I'm pushing 30 now and have found that I actually quite like it 👍🏻

Nice shave paul. I love the smell of tabac. Do you know of any coal tar scented shaving soaps that are easy to get hold of? I love wrights coal tar soap and wish I could get a shaving soap to match it.
Thanks, I have some coal tar shaving soap, made by an Artisan in South Wales, but they suddenly stopped making soap sadly....so I'm not sure but maybe Wickham's soap may do something like it....worth a look incase....all the best...Paul.

Baffled to see the title of this shaving-vid. when I woke up, to say the least haha!
Btw, lately I've been using the Bic Chrome Platinum blades in different razors, all of which have lasted me 12+++ shaves and still going strong! I also have the Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack from India, but those never give me more than 5 shaves, at best... Highly recommend you try out the Bic's, they are so smooth (for me, anyways haha).

Hay!! Paul great shave!! In here in the state a store Kmart is going out of business. I stopped to check on double chins they just sold out. I was thinking of buying one to use it in the future. Not sure how to use them.

I would describe the scent of Tabac as an acquired scent. When I first had a whiff of it I was repelled. I think that the combination of it dying down a bit and me getting accustomed to it made it useable. Great soap, though.

I've always wondered about Tabac. I have never ordered it but I have heard only good things about it. There are so many good artisan soaps out there (and I have only one lifetime to try them out) that Tabac has not found its way into my den yet.

Great video! I’ve been DE shaving for a few weeks and tried the ASTRA green blade in a Wilkinson sword classic for the first time today. I nicked my so many times i ended up switching to a DERBY extra blade to finish the shave.. maybe it’s my technique or lack off but I wasn’t impressed with this blade.

Cannot raise the soap in it's container . There does not seem to be any seam at the bottom of the soap container to our the soap up. Any advice

I prefer Tabac shaving soap much more than any shaving cream.
uuuh Tabac, love the deodorant , cologne, after shave...havent got around to use the shave soap yet i have it though shaving stick and cream as well also hair & body wash lmao....BUT dosen´t beat Old Spice Original well new version of Original smells the same last less time as you know ..have every deodorant aftershave cologne balm but no shaving soap or stick :(....o´have the body soap for the shower :)
The shaving stick is the same as the soap in the tub.
I use it a lot. Great stuff.
