Well if resellers keep on putting up videos of all the bargains they find at car boots no wonder sellers put up their prices and check out the items before hand
Plus it’s swings and roundabouts win some lose some
I list what ever don’t cherry pick my stock

I don't either I by what sells if its worth it
I volunteer in a couple of different charity shops obviously we aren't paid for it but we donate our time to help save lives and care for people with terminal illness... If we sort stuff and find things we'd like to purchase for the same price as general public its fine, helps to bolster the ebay store and they get the money they want
Car boots can be terrible. It's a lot of luck. You did the right thing and didn't just panic buy tat. Often less is better than a bag full of rubbish.

How is it "cheeky"? It makes perfect business sense. For them. They're getting savvier, and so they should be. People who buy on Ebay are also "normal people" your mental gymnastics are continuously bewildering.

Good video Jon. Charity shop prices are fine for the public if they are buying as the ultimate end user, still some good bargains to be had. They are not great value if you're looking to buy to resell. Charity shops are smarter now, our local one even goes to car boots to buy records to sell in the store or on eBay. It also has a dedicated volunteer listing the good stuff on eBay. The Manager there has told me that he prices at eBay levels now, checks solds on line and price matches. I don't even bother with them any more, no point.

Cheeky ? Whats Cheeky ? People mostly donate to their choice Charity shops because it's been a matter that has been close to their Hearts. The people who make donations arent bothered what profit the Charity Shops make .... Now, as for Resellers making massive profits ? That would be another matter. This is now having a knock on effect to Car Boot sales. It's a great idea that the Charity Shops are now setting up their own ebay sites and sales .... Obviously doesn't agree with some .....

If you had that boombox on Ebay for £50 then you're getting more on Vinted at £40 as you don't have the fees/postage...
Less buyers sold abroad
I have a family member that works for a national charity shop and they have significantly boosted there ebay operation now, they used to have 2 people running the ebay side now they have around 15 people a day running it. All items including clothing is now sorted and checked and if its designer or value is over £10 they want it sent to there ebay now. Ebay has even done Microsoft teams shows with these people to train them how to list and package items etc
10 years there be no charity shops they will convert them in fashion boutiques
Same in our town. There is a team that price checks all items prior to going on the shelves. The Manager there price matches eBay and the better stuff never even sees the shelves, he reckons turnover is up 60-70% since they adopted this process.

@@JonSheppardsells Probably, but there is definitely an eBay listing operation at the back of the shop. Bold as brass, checking prices. I’ve stopped going in. Pointless.

They have been taking it out of the back door since my mum of dad were doing markets.nothing has changed.they were doing markets from when i was 6 and im 48.so they havent changed

hi mate the bootsales are crap nowadays , went to my local one , there was a lot there , but a load of crap and overpriced

My local carboot is amazing but I live in an affluent area... If you live in a dump of an area you find the carboots and charity shops reflect this
