He jumped from calling Absolute to Median. Somewhere in my mind, I kinda remember that term from the late 80s. I am so glad he refreshed my memory....Not!
My math teacher made me use this video for homework. He asked me if I understood what you taught, I told him yes. You make it very simple, so thank you😊
I'm confused...if the mean is 3.5...how is a mad of 1.4 closer to it than a mad of 2.4? Isn't 2.4 closer to 3.5 than 1.4.?..someone please explain...thanks!
+superchick1972 The MAD tells you how far away your data values are from the mean on average. A MAD of 1.4 means the values are an average of 1.4 away from the mean. A MAD of 2.4 means the values are slightly farther away on average.
You just got a new subscriber tks for the help I like how u found a different way to explain it my Algebra teacher explained it with some weird complicated circle and btw for the problem you had us try on our own I got MAD=4.25 is it right ?
Thank you sooo much I spent a reeeaaalllyyy long time searching RUclips for videos and this is the only one that helped my teacher didn't even explain it well I wish u were my math teacher! I am subscribing now! Once again thank you!!!
My advanced math teacher explained the concept but I still didn't understand it. I have a test tomorrow on this and have a C- on my report card (!) Thank you for making this video! IT REALLY HELPED! 😅
I just watched this, but it really helped considering I have a test on this tomorrow. Thanks a lot!! I watched many videos and this is the only one that helped. Thanks again!!
Your videos are helping me a lot! Thank you! I am taking a math for elementary teachers course this semester and my final is this Wednesday. I'm very nervous, but trying to get as much information as I can to pass it :)!
You don't need to make a dot plot.. just find mean and then subtract the mean with all the numbers in the data set. After you subtract each number from that data set you find the absolute value of the difference. Do that for all the data values then find the mean by adding all the newly subtracted data values and divide them by your original mean from the original data set.
Thank you some much for taking your time to help us and for the first independent problem it kept repeating so would it be 3.7 repeating or what was the correct answer
2+1+1+1+1+1+1+2=10/8=1.25 is incorrect. 2+1+1+1+1+1+1+2=10/8 is the mistake and please fix! 2+1+1+1+1+1+1+2=10 10/8=1.25 please make this distinction. this will create confusion and misconceptions among students, especially when referring to notes or videos.
