Thanks for the vid, love my solar. I have 300w mounted on the roof and adding another 100w portable panel.
I'd also like to see more vids from your offroad travels. Those ones you posted in the past really showed the pucker factor.
Will do! :)
Great discussion and solar info for truck campers - thank you! 👍
Thanks! I appreciate it.
I have 2 160s and 2 240 amp 6v AGM batteries inside. I love it! Good video.
I'm no where near the point of buying my first pick-up and getting my own camper, but this video is quite informative and I will take this information and definitely digest it.
Mike, either you, or Truck Camper News wrote an article on the new Host Tahoe SB short camper for short bed trucks. The article says that the entry on the camper is from the rear side, yet all of the photos show that it's a rear entry unit.
Hello Mike. I just now found your fabulous videos. Thank you. I have a 2014 F150 Single cab with a payload of 1875. My lance lite 1000 camper weighs 1000 pounds. The truck is a V6 3.7 engine. Will this be safe to haul on short camping trips?

Great info on Solar power...bad ass intro music haha (80s Metal here)... Cheers man
I run 500 watts of solar on my Lance 815 truck camper with a 1500 watt Go Power pure sine inverter & 390 amp hr battery bank. I lived & traveled in it 6 weeks last summer. check it out on my channel I show how I built it. Play list solar power campers I have had 2 solar truck campers so far. Definitely the way to go.
Holy smokes! 500 watts! Do you have any room on your roof? ;) I'll have to check out your channel.
Our single 100w panel seems to be enough but only because we run the refrigerator off propane. In electric mode the panel can just barely keep up with the refrigerator for a few hours around noon on a perfectly clear day.
I'm newby with 26' Class C Motor home with 2 coach batteries. If I'm driving everyday, or often have electric available why do I need solar? Everything is DC or propane, it does have Onan 4KW. nice intro, cheers!
Mike, the article you have on "Truck Camper News" shows a Ford F-350 single rear wheel drive, with the new Host Tahoe SB truck camper on it. This is very deceiving in just having looked up the payload on that vehicle, it cannot take the 4000 pound load of that camper on it. An F-350 dually can, but what is pictured there is false advertising by Host as the single rear wheel drive does not have the load rating to put that camper on it.
How about a panel in the hood of the engine? Wired correctly that should work
Thanks Mike. About the only reason I'd have for a generator is AC. How do you deal with that or don't you have AC?
We mostly camp and boondock in areas where you don't need an A/C. We do have an A/C, but we only use it at the house during the summer when loading up (110 degree temps during the summer are normal). We also use it occasionally at campgrounds when needed.
Thanks, Mike.
Im new to your channel enjoy it very much so do you use air bags on your truck
sup mello mike?
