- Lagos, Portugal, is this the Most Beautiful vacation destination in the Algarve in 2022? It's because I love the Algarve and particularly Lagos where I go very often (have an apartment in Iberlagos with a beautiful view of the ocean) When I am not there I miss Lagos a lot and watching your video was like doing my favourite walks there. Thanks for the video. I have been debating where to stay this summer when we spend six nights in the Algarve. I finally narrowed it to a hotel in Lagos.

2025 we head to Albufiera for the month of March

Thank you guys for this lovely video. As previously mentioned in one of my comments,whilst the country and the towns are pretty,I felt that there wasn’t much happening. I had considered moving to Portugal but this observation from my short visit made me rethink as to whether this country is for me. I have just returned from the Spanish
coast and I must admit that there are a lot more people out and about and it made me feel that there’s a lot going on in here. That’s just my opinion and my experience for both countries.
The Algarve is very seasonal and some parts like Cabanas will shut down in Dec. and Jan. Lagos will probably have some seasonal closers as well. It seems to us, being here now in June that there is a lot going on with people on vacation. We see some pros and cons to both for sure. Thank you for your insights and for watching our channel!!!

Glad you showed a glance of your apartment tour, please do show your apartments every place you went, fell in love with the pristine beaches , while I like the long walk to the beaches but my wife prefers transportation , question even if you take the trolley could the long steps you showed at the end been avoided ? 👍
There are many beaches that you can walk directly to without stairs. Some are not as easy but the two that are closest to Lagos are easy to access. We usually show our apartment tours in the cost of living videos but we can start showing a bit more when called for in other videos as well. Thanks for the continued support!!

Lagos looks lovely, and the area around the marina reminded me a bit of Alicante. I could see why renting a kayak would be fun as you could access coves and beaches that you could not get to any other way. I look forward to your costs video to see how prices compare to Spain. I told my friend about Croatia as a place to visit to adhere to the Schengen rules, and he agreed and said he would spend some time in Split next winter.
Lagos and Alicante are very comparable for sure. Croatia should be nice and mild in the winter. We will be there in September and October before heading home for the holidays. We should get nice sunny skies while we are there. Thanks again for the support.

@@BrianandCarrie September and October are my favorite two month's here in Spain. All the tourists are gone and it's still sunny and warm. Should be the perfect time to visit Croatia. Next on my agenda is Bratislava and then somewhere in Italy.
Slovakia sounds great. We won't make it up there but who knows, our plans sometimes change. We will be heading to southeast Asia and Mexico next year so won't make it to Italy for a couple years. If all goes as planned we will make it someday!! Safe travels!!

We were there in 2018. It looks like there is a lot more street art now. We did note that it looks like Lagos is a major destination for Brits on holiday.
Hi Scott. Yes, all of the Algarve is a holiday destination for the UK. There are direct flights from Gatwick airport to Faro. Much like Palm Springs to the western half of the US. 🍻🍻

Hi Brian and Carrie. Really enjoying your channel. Thanks for sharing. Last year year did Europe by train. Did 13 countries, 33 cities and 66 trains in the span of 3 months. Whirlwind to say the least. LOL. Next year my wife retires and we are looking at slowing things down. We have not decided if we want to do 3 months in 1 location or two locations for a month and a half each or 3 locations with 1 month in each location. We are looking at Jan 1 to March 30, Would you be able to share the AirBnB places you stayed in for Portugal? Specifically Lagos and mone Gordo. While traveling the 33 cities, we had some great locations and some not so great places so doing research ahead of time would be helpful. We look forward to viewing more of your videos. That itinerary would not be possible for us!! 😆 We would recommend staying in each location for no longer than a month at a time just in case you get that not-so-great Airbnb or location. Hi Steve, a good portion of the trail is on the cliff close to the beach but believe it does take you out and about. We were close to the beach the entire way when we went. 🍻

We do have a budget. The time of year and country can make a difference, but we try to stay around a $1000. We did a cost-of-living video on our two months in the Algarve. That will give you a good idea on all of our expenses.

95 M's!! I would skip Faro altogether and do Lagos for a couple days then head to Tavira for a day and Vila Real before heading to Seville. You need a couple days in Seville, it is amazing! If you cant do Lagos you'll survive. It would be easy to fly to Faro and head east, you would miss the cool beaches that the western part of the Algarve has but the east is pretty nice as well. Porto is worth visiting as well...just to complicate your trip...😀

Well..bus and train. the train system down here in the Algarve is unreliable so we are now trying to figure out the bus. The transportation in Spain is much better!! We had no problems while we were there. We didn't have any problems with the train when we were in Porto and Lisbon 3 years ago so I'm sure it's better up north.

It your be appropriate to use the metric system when describing distance and temperature and in Europe the euro. Most of the world is using metric.

Hi Michael. We do not have residency in Europe. We only get 90 days in the Schengen area so we have to leave for 90 days before re-entering. We are loving Portugal and have explored the different options on how to get residency here (we are going to do a video about this) but we have too many other places to see before we decide to stop traveling for any long period. Yes. There is a bus from Lagos to Lisbon. There is also the train, but you will have to transfer trains in Tunes. And don't forget that you can fly from Faro to Lisbon on Ryan Air for really cheap. 3 years ago we flew from Porto to Faro for $28 and took the train back to Lisbon for less than that. Hi, Sara. We go with Airbnb for all our apartments and the price will depend on the time of year. We do a cost of living video after each location and reveal all our costs.

Mostly very nice looking, but maybe I’m just an old fart but I get so sick of so much graffiti in so many towns.
We get that!! Some are really nice and some are just not. The worst is when someone graffitis over really nice street art. Nothing wrong with being an old fart!!!
