    For a temporary fix I ordered an acrylic tablet holder to slip over the iFit screen of my Tour de France 5.0 pro form exercise bike. I dug out an old Samsung tablet that I have and that’s what I’m using to watch RUclips and work out watching movies. I figured I’m going to wait for your next video where I can skip having to mess with my router. I searched online for AT&T router parental controls. I couldn’t find them. Perhaps if I put another router with it. I haven’t had time to try and figure it out. Looking forward to your next video.

      @@NelsonMunoz0714 I just posted under that video. I saw your video when it came out but I haven’t had any luck so I gave up. I haven’t tried to do anything with my Att router because I haven’t had any luck finding parental controls even in their apps. I guess I could call them. I do have a linksys router I bought new just before switching to Att internet. I think there’s a way to take your AT&T router and hook Linksys in series with that. Then I could probably going to the linksys router tied into the AT&T router and block websites. Then do a factory reset. I really don’t know that that’s going to make the 10 top work it hasn’t worked yet. Any ideas are welcome.

      Hi @@yadealone, so the bad news is that the Tour De France display does not have the capability to go into privileged mode. I did some research and your display has a limited ability which includes several built in workouts but not the premium iFit trainer-led workout videos. The only easy to integrate iFit is thru an external display.

    2:08 this no longer works. I have a pinhole and I used it to reset my machine and I did exactly as you did in this video. After I reset it, I did the 10 tap technique when it restarted and it does not load privileged mode. Instead, the gray box pops up for a few seconds and then goes away and I am stuck with the same screen I had before. It's the regular iFit menu, but without privileged mode. This sucks.

    Nelson, I think the app has "more settings" for a registered user. If you have the blocks in place, then I highly doubt you actually "updated" the app, but it is possible some features are "streamed" in rather than "baked" in.

    Nelson, this whole thing may be because Peloton+ is now controlling resistance on their bikes. Could it possibly be that loading the peloton app on the norditrack machine could mess up the preloaded drivers? If so, I could understand them freaking out, but like we are all saying, the machine is ours, not theirs!! We should have access!!

    • @NelsonMunoz0714
      @NelsonMunoz0714  3 года назад

      Hi mrsgoyen08, thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. I don't believe the Peloton app can control any of the drivers because the NordicTrack machines are proprietary in nature. The push for locking privileged mode is based on money and customer service support. If iFIT is the only option then their subscription revenue is higher. If customers have other options like Netflix then their revenue may be reduced. Also i am certain their customer technicians are receiving a lot of inquiries about privileged mode. They would rather lock it down and eventually reduce their customer support calls.
      Many of us believe like you and me that we should have final say in what we can do in our machines.

    Just want to make sure i got this. So I should do a factory reset, block the mentioned website on my router, turn the treadmill back on and do the 10 tap trick. Set a password and restart the machine again…… then update it. And it wouldn’t remove the privilege.? And another question do you think it’s better to just leave it on or turn it off between use.

    • @thomasneimann334
      @thomasneimann334 3 года назад +1

      No, it's a catch 22:
      - Once you block access to iFit Urls in your router, you cannot update iFit anymore.
      - If you unblock your router to update, you also get back the new "iFit admin" which will kick you out of privileged mode.
      The only thing that worked for us is export the latest iFit app that is installed on your machine after the update to your own apk via apps like "app extractor" and use this one after the factory reset to reinstall the latest iFit app (see other comments for more detail)

    • @NelsonMunoz0714
      @NelsonMunoz0714  3 года назад +1

      Thomas, you are 100% correct. The only way to have the latest and greatest iFIT app and still be able to access privileged mode, is to allow updates so you can have the most up-to-date iFit app, then back it up and save to an external source. Afterwards a factory reset and blocking the URLs will get you back to a "clean" system. Then you can reinstall the updated iFIT from your backup. Though curious as to how the backup knows where to install the iFit app?
