    What would I do if the galvanized pipe isn’t threaded? Used compression fitting for a while. It blew out yesterday after 2 years. Main water line from the meter is old galvanized. Mine are pvc

      I have the same question. I'm going to have to cut that metal pipe, the threads are rusted together at this point.

    Thanks so much for this video! Extremely useful and going to be put to use while I work from room to room in my house updating the waterline in stages as I renovate. Can’t wait for all the old galvanized to finally be gone but it’s a process.

    Be careful: Home Depot sells two different types of PEX fittings : PEX-B fittings and PEX-A fittings. They look VERY similar - but are different in configuration and cannot be interchanged. Type B is used for Crimp-Ring while PEX-A is used for Expansion Rings. HD has them all mixed up so pay close attention when buying. Thank you

    • @bobbygetsbanned6049
      @bobbygetsbanned6049 7 месяцев назад

      They look similar but the size difference is huge, if you're used to pipe sizes PEX B will be shockingly small, 3/4" PEX B is basically the same size as any other 1/2" fittings.

      try to leave sharkbites out the equation but if you have to it will work just make sure it's accessable just in case I have have 1 sharkbite fail it was a freeze proof hydrant and it wasn't from installation error it was defect from manufacturing of the PEX to copper hydrant
