Forgot to say he switched from Kazakh to Chinese and back.
YES! I just realized he switched languages within the song. Clever lad. Plus - After he drops his serious dramatic face at the end of each song he gives his charming cheeky little boy smile - which obviously melts everyone's hearts all over again.
Everyone wants to adopt him as their own son / grandson. In fact they Do! In every country in the world - after just the first listen - people everywhere start referring to Dimash as 'Our Boy'! And PROUDLY start 'showing him off' to friends and family - and anyone else they can! - as if he Really IS their son. It's truly Phenomenal!

Everyone is going to suggest the Gakku performance. Yes, you get to hear the unbelievable D8, but this particular performance is more emotional and I prefer it.

for those that keep asking for the gakku version, he is reacting in chronological order starting with the singer/singr show. then, maybe, once those are done, he will go to other performances. but please, respect him and his choice to react to the songs in this way. you still get your dimash reaction and wonderful commentary. the other performance reactions will be worth the wait when they eventually come. i have requested a few songs not in the singer show and he has not reacted to them at this point because of how he's choosing to react. just be patient dears, he will get to your favorites.

Being Dimashes is great!! Now you need to check out the only female that can be his counterpoint. Her name is "SO HYANG" and she is Korean. The only female who can stand toe to toe with the likes of Mariah and Whitney and then some!! Please add this wonderful earth, Angel!! She does Whitney's "I HAVE NOTHING" close-up version. She does the best cover you will ever see of "BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER"!! "YOU RAISED ME UP" is totally ANGELIC!! I love this performance of Unforgettable Day its honestly my favourite one of this song. The arrangement really shines here I think. He always slays it but I just love this version a lot. I love all the other ones too, but this one has always stood out as a great version of the instrumental too.

Jacob, I am always intensely interested in your reviews of Dimash. It’s great that you do some research ahead of each song, and I like the way you’re going in chronological order. There are still probably 150+ songs in his repertoire so you should be busy for awhile!

I've always loved this song because it's got such an absolutely great hook--it's melody is so easy going and just flat out singable...........yet at the same time is elevated by the beauty of the passion of the lyrics. This song means so much to him, not only because he composed the music, but also because his Dears honor him and his beloved Kazakhstan each time they sing along in the Kazakh language. He just BEAMS when performing this at concerts and his audience joins him--you can see just HOW much it fills his heart.
"He sings into the ends of each phrase..." What a great statement and another teachable moment from you, Jacob. Ya know, I never thought about it that way before--once again I love how you explain something so clearly and logically. I know I'll be looking for that now sometimes in other singers' performances. I realize it's a choice, but it's something new to listen for.

I mean......who else on earth can sing like Dimash? Most can probably sing this area or that area as well or better....but non as powerfully well rounded in all as him. Dimash's programme helper (Aray Aydarhan - Kazakh based in China) here introduced this song earlier. He said Dimash composed this song at nineteen.

Dimas was sick for this performance, had been to hospital, lost his voice, had to get injections in the vocal cords & told “ no high notes”. By the doctor who treated him in the ER.

I just love this song. This performance is unique as are the ones he does with Terry as it adds the combination of both Kazakh and Chinese. Which is one of the things I really admire about Dimash. He always tries to include his audience in his music. Yes, in his concerts people will sing along in other languages, but he always goes out of his way to bring the language of the audience in somehow. That just shows his heart. I am not a fan of the gakku version as the D 8 is not musical to me. Though I love his interaction with the fans there. As always enjoyed you reaction and thoughts. 😊 you can always hear the D 8 on Dimash slaying every register.
