    okay this might be one of my fav videos of yours! so proud of you for going to school and working as a student tech!
    I'm in my senior year of x-ray school and actually have an interview at a hospital tomorrow for a student tech position.
    one thing i would recommend to keep handy is either toothpaste or peppermint essential oil for the not so pleasant smells, you could put some in your mask so you either smell the tooth paste or essential oil :)

      AHHH I was going to put a toothbrush in & then completely forgot! Thanks for reminding me! But the essential oil trick is super smart!

    I pack for ‘just in case’ instances in my clinical bag too. I was thinking of bringing my own k-cups as well (the Starbucks here adds up). I thought maybe I was being silly, so that was fun to see someone else do it too. I just ordered fun colored pocket protectors for my scrubs after getting ink leak through on my white student top. Now I want to trick out my locker with a pen holder & mirror 😅.

      We have a coffee cart too & it's so tempting to buy coffee from there! Bringing my own definitely helps ☺️ I didn't even know they sold pocket protectors! That's awesome!

    What’s the difference in the school being accredited with JRCERT and taking the test with AART ? The only school in my entire state when looked up it doesn’t say that are accredited through JRCERT and I’m a military spouse who moves to different states every 3-4 years so I’m now very worried about this program

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  3 года назад

      ARRT is the national registry exam that you have to pass in order to practice as a radiologic technologist.
      JRCERT is an accrediting agency for programs - here is their mission statement “The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) promotes excellence in education and elevates the quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.”
      Basically they evaluate Rad Tech programs to ensure they are following ARRT rules and guidelines! I highly recommend JRCERT accredited programs because you’ll automatically be able to sit for your ARRT board exam because the program is ensured to have educated you with all proper competencies and skills!

    Do you have a bachelors degree??

    • @JuliaKristine
      @JuliaKristine  4 года назад +3

      no, I haven't even graduated yet. I will graduate in May with an AAS. A bachelor's degree is rather unnecessary for this field unless you plan to go into management. Otherwise, a tech with a BS and a tech with an AAS will get the same wages (at least where I live).
