Rating: 2.5/5
Positives: Controls well enough
Mediocre: Isometric view, Graphics, Audio
Negatives: Camera moves around quite a bit if you change the direction you're facing, The game is essentially a walking simulator, I didn't feel the same charm as I did with the Sorcerer's stone game, The stealth sections are not fun imo - Игры
Probably one of the most unsettling and strangest games I've played. I'm an adult now and this game still freaks me out. The weird and gloomy music, the school that's mostly empty, the characters that stands in place and not moving an inch just staring into space like Ron at 35:58. The ominous and trippy looking backgrounds like at 40:59. The best way to describe this game is like playing through a fever dream.
One of my favorite GBA games. I remember not being able to get the alohamora spell for YEARS. I was so happy when I finally figured out how to get it after 8 or so years of owning the game! Turns out I was missing the wizard card behind the gate in the portrait hallway.
Same here.It took me 5 years to figure out how to get it.
Aaaaaand now I feel like a complete dumbass….
I played this as a kid, I remember being rly scared of the cutscenes for some reason, the music made everything feel sinister
Dude, same. Not only the music terrified me when I was a young kid, but vault 704 or gringott (whatever the name of the fire dungeon of the game was called) fucking horrified me as a kid where I would get nightmares of that place and still to this day I couldn't understand why. I never got passed that part as a kid because I was too damn scared of it lol.
I always felt there was something off about this version of the game when I played it way back when. Eventually, I realized it's the almost complete lack of students in Hogwarts beyond the main trio. It's practically empty aside from prefects.
That's a good point. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Yeah the complete lack of people and the looooonng corridors that all seem the same make this a really sort of unsettling experience for me. Good game, though.
that and the isometric moving directions. never got fully used to that
Considering the fact that this is the game adaption to a movie, and the handheld version at that, the art for this game is absolutely stunning. I remember thinking it while playing this as a little kid, and I still think it to this day
Ron - 'We've missed the train! How will we get to Hogwarts?'
Hagrid - literally standing 2 steps away who lives there....
Harry - 'We need to use the car'
🤦🤦🤦
And that's why they are not in Ravenclaw...
I used to play a lot this game as a kid and I loved it, thought I didn’t understood anything that was going on the screen, but I guess I liked the colors and the music (which I weirdly still remember today!!)
I recall one day, that I asked my mom (who was always very busy) if she could help me beat the game since I couldn’t advance, and although she had a lot of work to do, she did help me! We spent the rest of the afternoon in the sofa playing together till the game ended.
Thank you for helping bring back these memories, they mean a lot for me!!!
I was 11 almost 12 when I first got this game around when it came out. This definitely takes me back!
Glad I could take you back to the past. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Nice. That's three GBA Harry Potter games accounted for, with three more to go. Great job so far, can't wait to see the rest.
Thanks my friend. I am working on the Prisoner of Azkaban for GBA right now! :D
@@LongplayUniverse Oh, boy! Can't wait!
I worked on this game, appreciate you putting together this play through. Brings back some memories that’s for sure.
Wow, that's awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Can you please share more on your experience? Was there another vision to the game that got changed to reflect this final version?
@@Love-xl3vqNot especially, the game was based off the book which is why there’s a bunch of bits that didn’t end up in the movie. The game design was pretty stable throughout.
As a non-English speaker, this game really inspired me to learn English.
P.s. I got the gba and the game at the same time when I was 10.
That's awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Also, based just on this comment, your English is basically perfect!
The nostalgia. This was one of the first games I ever got for the Gameboy! This game was so fun I replayed it multiple times.
Happy I could take you back to the past. You must have been a master back in the day! :D
god... my childhood just appeared on my reccomended with this...
I need to find my copy again!
This was one of my favorite games for GBA, didn’t care for the first one as much as this or the third. It always made me nervous being forced to sneak around at night. The most I have gotten is 99 of the red beans. I have always wondered what you get for collecting all 100. Having just seen it unlocked a slide puzzle, I am quite disappointed to have wondered all these years… 😂
haha the slide puzzle is definitely not worth it. thanks for watching and commenting! :D
man id play this so much despite not knowing what i was doing, nor did i even know how to read lmao
LOL, that's awesome! Thanks for checkin the vid! :D
I was the idiot that skipped through all of the text in games as a kid, so I got stuck frequently.
haha that sounds how I play games (when not making longplay videos). Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
everybody gangsta until a prefect catches you
That's right lol.
My sister got this game for Christmas a few years ago and I remember burrowing it and completing it. She relied on me to get her through the game, Ah good times
Awesome story. Happy I could take you back to the past! :D
I found my old game boy and decided to buy few new games - I think hp and the chamber of secrets will be one of them, it looks fun!
This is a great game, I definitely recommend! :D
The nostalgia hit me like a train.
This and Prisoner of Azkaban where my favorite gameboy advance games
Prisoner is so good! Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
The Nostalgia hits hard
Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
❤️ love that game since I was kid
Happy to bring you some positive nostalgia. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
большое спасибо за прохождение игра классная 👍👍
The fact that this was the last release on the GBA makes it awesome
Last release on the GBA in what way?
@@TheBroz date wise, I believe this game was the last one to be released as a GBA cart
@@bobbyrey8270 You mean the GBC version not GBA
41:34 This bonus room is a real trauma for me when I was a kid 🤯Sooooo difficult
It's the room that gets us all lol. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
How did you change spells instantly? I always needed to go to inventory menu everytime
Select + A = Cycle Through Spells
Select + L = Cycle Through Items

This one of the only games I had growing up. I completed it so many time it was so much fun trying to 100% it. I eventually did except the connecting to game cube part I didn’t have one
Nice job on the 100%. Happy I could take you back to the past.
Thanks for checkin out the vid and leaving a comment! :D
It’s weird that the graphics for the GBA version’s cutscenes are better. This is hard to look at until you get to the actual gameplay
Do you mean the GBC cutscenes are better? If so, I agree. THanks for watching and commenting! :D
Hey man, there is supposedly a bonus in the game when you hook up the gba to the gamecube. Can you show this? I've never seen it. Been playing this game as a child and it drives me insane, because I actually got the equipment for it and it didn't work. Also: there is a door in the "lunch hall" (no native speaker here), behind the teacher's chairs, that won't open. What is behind there and how to get there? Good game, enjoyed it as a kid!
I will try and take another look at the game sometime soon and post a "Part 2" if possible. Thanks for checkin the vid and commenting! :D
Are you talking about the green door? If so, it's impossible to get in there.
Also, I've been to the GBA bonus. It's basically some big forest area with a bunch of gytrashes (ghost dogs). To see what they look like, just look in the bestiary (found somewhere in the pause menu). These ghost dogs are very slow, don't do a lot of damage, and can be defeated with skurge. Somewhere in the forest area is a wizard card.
I have a video about the Cheat Menu in the game which also shows the bonuses you can unlock by connecting the GBA to a Gamecube. Like elephant35e says, you can found an exclusive 'location' wizard card in the area. I still don't know what bonus you get when having all 5 location cards.
@@JLightyear2000 When you get all 5 location cards, if you connect the GBA to the Gamecube again you can unlock Gringotts in the Gamecube version of Chamber of Secrets.
@@elephant35e Thanks for the info!
Can you do a longplay of Wacky Races for the GBC, please?
I will add it to my (very long) list my friend! :D
I still have that game but I haven’t played it in years.
That's awesome! Thanks for watching as well! :D
There is no FMV in this version, which could be cutscenes from the console versions (PS2/NGC/Xbox). There are fewer limits on GBA than on GBC.
45:15 jesus why did they think it was good idea to have a spinning background and not a set one
Yeah, that was a bad idea lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for this I was having trouble finding a guide and couldn't get the bolder under the crusher I think my angle might be wrong
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching/commenting! :D
How do you change between spells without enter the start menu ?
Sorry, I don't remember D: I think I held select and pressed another button. Let me know if you still can't figure it out and I'll try to take a look when I can.
@@LongplayUniverse Thank you for your reply :D. Yes, I figured it out. hold select + A button and the spell will change.
Nice! :D
@@LongplayUniverse dammit if only I had known that as a kid!
i have to ask, i tried to search in the video but i could nt find, do you show in this video how to enter de the door in the great hall? i have this game and i have the mysterious question more than 14 years! please kill my curiosity, please! hope you answer, thanks!
I believe others in the comments have said it isn't possible to enter. Might try to use a hex editor to try and get through though lol.
@@LongplayUniverse pleasee
Wh-so the ending doesn't even show Harry destroying Tom Riddle's Diary? What was the GBA version thinking with how important that was in books 6 and 7? At least the ending is nice to see telling us how we have managed to accomplish stopping Draco Malfoy from strutting around Hogwarts like he owns the place. Oh, and rescuing muggle-borns from Memory Riddle's designs, but I'm sure that's less important.
I played this game way too much when i was 4 years old
Happy I could bring some positive nostalgia your way! :D
Best game of all time! Anyone happen to know what was behind the door in the great hall that never opened?
Fuck I'm gonna have to watch this whole video for FIVE BEANS! haha
Great work!
Lol, dang. Thanks for watching/commenting and good luck with the bean hunt! :D
How you get enter the portraits? I did the 4 bean challenges but the portraits keep saying you need the password?
Thanks
Thanks for watching! :D
How did you switch spells without going through the pause menu??
Select + A = Cycle through spells
Select + L = Cycle through items
awesome!
Thanks for watching! :D
My favorite
el juego trata. que harry tiene que resolver puzzles imposibles. y que voldemort a secuestrado a ginny con la forma de su padre de niño. por lo que harry tendra que viajar en la cronologia del pasado de tom riddle para salvar a ginny.
GBA had the best games.
I actually haven't played too many GBA games but I can't wait to play more and see what is out there! :D
how do i get the last card that is in the same row of the founders
0:04
How dare you?!
lol sorry D:
How does Harry learn the alohomora spell?
5.17 - Hogwarts: A History
Objective: Visit the library and find a copy of Hogwarts: A History, then return
with it to the Common Room.
---------------------
Before heading out to the Grand Staircase, enter the door on the left wall of
the hallway. Now that you have the Wingardium Leviosa spell, you can finish
this part.
Head right, pick up the block and move it to the other end of the hallway, onto
the switch.
In the next room, head left, grab the block, and move it to the north-eastern
corner, next to the desk. Climb on the block, then onto the desk, and Flipendo
the green vase for a RTB (33).
Now enter the door next in the southern corner. Defeat all three Doxies in here
to be rewarded with a Knut! WOW. Open the cupboard on the left side of the room
for a Cauldron Cake and search the far left desk for a RTB (34).
Go through the north-western door this time. Fire two charged Flipendos at the
walking suit in armor to collect another Knut. You can also destroy the
attacking suit in armor up ahead if you want. Walk along the hallway and defeat
another walking suit in armor. You'll see a golden door you can't enter yet.
Instead, enter the door across from the vent in the floor. Open the chest.
You get "Felix Summerbee"!
** You have collected all five 'Charms' Wizard Cards. With the Alohomora spell
in your possession, you can now use it to open certain locked chests and doors.
Perhaps there are now a few new areas for you to open up? **

tldr - collect all five 'Charms' Wizard Cards
Surprised its not an RPG like the GBC games
I wish it was to be honest lol.
3:01:24 que clase de rugido es ese? Parece que tiene un terrible dolor de muelas jajaja
HELLO !! I dont know how to get the last wizard card...
WHO IS THE LAST WIZARD CARD ?? down right next to romena ravenclaw ...
were is it ?? please help !!!
I thought we would collect it once all the others collected, but no. But I'm sure that it is Dumbledore's card
We need to conect the gba game with game cube game to open a secret area ... 😭😭😭😭😭
Daisy Dodderidge (1467 - 1555):
* Description: First landlady of the Leaky Cauldron.
* Location: Can only be gotten by connecting GBA to GameCube. Found in newly opened area in Hogwarts Grounds.

@@LongplayUniverse well, no chance to collect this one.
You actually can unlock this card without a Gamecube. I even did it without realizing it. I have a video about the Cheat Menu in the game were you can select this location to get the Daisy wizard card.
In what minute do you open the golden door of the bonus?
Do you have a timestamp of the door you mean?
tambien puedes recolectar objetos ocultos para llegar a la camara
Me and the boys at 2 am looking for B E A N S
(actually 2am at time of typing this comment)
lol, you love to see it.
I did all bean challenges but the portraits still ask for the password ?!
The music sounds worse on the GBA ):
1:50:18 lol
lol, completely unnecessary snipe.
why do the gbc games hold up better than the gba games?
Yeah, I would much rather replay the GBC ones. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Why is this one so different to the gbc one...
I wish it wasn't. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Please do a longplay of The Bible Game for the GBA
I have added this to my (very long) list! :D
Longplay Universe ok, take your time
I’m stuck on challenge #4 😣
You got this!
I played that and saves did not work for me!
Dang D:
I don't know what you actually mean with "mediocre audio", but if it's about the music, this game has by far a better soundtrack than the Philosopher's Stone.
... Well, at least that's what I think.
I personally just thought it was ok (not good and not bad). Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
