We had an RC parachute many years ago. A Robbie model called Charlie if I'm remembering correctly. We took him aloft with an RC helicopter. It was fun but we had a 50/50 experience with shute deployment. I don't think we ever got the hang of packing the parachute correctly. We also had a lot of trouble with stripping gears in the servos. Even if the parachute deployed successfully, it was difficult to keep the body from tumbling on landing and that, as often as not, would take out the servo gears.
