This car represents everything he loves: gorgeous Ferrari looks with a beautifully built Honda engine and a chassis engineered for handling. The Drift King’s favorite things👍
Seeing Keiichi Tsuchiya taking such an interest in your car is mind blowing. It gave me goosebumps just watching, i can only imagine how you felt, Mike!
You, Sir, are an inspiration. I’m not even talking about your skill as a builder, but how you just seem so… well, normal. You’re relatable because you’re honest. You struggle with things that any person would struggle with. Knowing or expecting tragedy lies ahead, yet still pushing onward knowing the pain and cost of the tragedy will pale in comparison to the finish line. In the end, you’ll have this incredible vehicle as proof of your journey. Perseverance, my friend. We’re right there beside you. The whole community has your back.
Man, another masterpiece. I'm not sure how y'all keep upping production quality every video but this felt like a documentary with some serious budget behind it. I appreciate all the love from the gang in video, it's definitely what I've experienced from you guys since joining the Discord and BSing with y'all every day. Y'all are such a great group of people and I'm happy to have stumbled across this channel years ago. Keep up the great work Mike (and Anthony!) Can't wait to see how you guys put together the next episode.
The accolades you are receiving could not possibly be more deserving. Your build and videos documenting it's progress are simply amazing. All the best to you and team!!
You deserve every bit of recognition you've received. From the days all the way back on BF.c following your build thread on Rusty, and the S54 swap on the E36 where most people counted you out all the way to this. Performing on a world stage in a car you re-engineered from the ground up. You're inspiring as hell, Mike. Your passion and effort pushes a lot of weekend car guys to get out wrenching on their projects, and I really appreciate that. Not many of us can say we had a fire lit under us like you did during WTAC prep, but damn... You pulled it off! CONGRATULATIONS!
@@stanceworks Ha, I still go back and re-watch the S54 E36 reveal on the AMG monoblocks where you have the picnic table in the pond. Best series man thank you for making us apart of this to the point where you have us crying in joy😂
Yes! Another 244 GTK episode!!! This car will easily be one of the coolest cars in the World Time Attack Challenge, even if it turns out to be the slowest (which I have a feeling it won't be...)
@@stanceworks it doesn't matter, honestly... It's still incredibly cool. It's almost like an alternative take on the 288 GTO recipe, close to 40 years after the fact... It's so out there, and yet, because it is being built to serve a very specific purpose, everything on it seems appropriate.
Man there is something simplistic *as a compliment* about the way you narrate and put together a video for this format that gives me overwhelming second hand happiness watching a human do there damn thing and exceed above even there own expectations after working for it with only themselves as there inspo. Mike, dont sell yourself short... you built an amazing car and were invited. That's something special! The fact that you achieved this goal despite the odds is a testament to your hard work.
This is an amazing accomplishment. No matter what anyone thinks you have lived out a dream of all gear heads!! Factory supercar and racecar builder understand the pain and pleasure you have felt along the way…….Keep the great vids coming… 🇬🇧👍🍺
Tsuchiya was checking it out. That’s how special your car is. It’s the best looking car there by far. Everything from the wheels to the livery illustrate great taste. There are no other cars like it. An exotic race car build from the ground up. Now if we could get the transmission issue dialed in. Good luck!!!
This is god tier, followed this build for so long and to see you in my home country following your dreams is so inspiring. Congratulations on everything you have set out to do so far and I know you'll do in the future.
Looking forward to the next episode, racing at this level is a trial by fire but you and the team are made of the right stuff. Regarding the transmission, BoostedBoiz Kyle had issues with the exact same transmission in a 1100whp+ K series drag setup and finally figured out it was the main nut on the input or main shaft loosening under the high loads these extreme setups can undergo. Since then he's been putting a few tack welds on the nut and never ran into the problem again. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to share his insights with you (fellow k series car youtuber :) ) and see if your issues are possibly stemming from the same culprit. In his case he had to go through two gear sets if i'm not mistaking, better to take the preventative approach since it's a pretty penny.
Baby steps when all's new is the only way to go. Any person who'd take something like this and try to gun it, they're asking for trouble. Also, 18:43 it's moments like these that are worth everything you toiled for. When you get the "nod", you know you've done it right.
Honda need to sponsor your channel and give you one of their high performance race engines for your next build, even though if I’m reading you right you will move on to something else more challenging. Love this build😊
Your videos, your editing, your team, your car, and you are all awesome brother! This build is amazing and the attention its gotten is totally deserved!
Even though I've never met you, Mike, and I'm just a subscriber, like Daniel Jones, I feel like you're family. I've been following this build since my algorithm fed it to me multiple months ago. I love the car and viewing the process has been very rewarding. Having just finished a car, I too know the sense of satisfaction and am very proud of you. I'm looking forward to the final "payoff" video for the 244 GTK, and then your future adventures. Well done!
I'm a roll cage builder myself and yeah, that thing is artwork! I was super impressed at the timeframe to pump it out. I'd quote that as a 2 week, $12,000 roll cage and even then mine wouldn't fit as well and look as good. But a few of the connections still wouldn't pass some classes of motorsport here! It's THAT strict. You could apply to Motorsport Australia for an exception because of the vehicle shape and get the cage approved but it would be a process and at any time MA could revoke that approval.
Jumped onboard for the quattro rebuild...been watching this journey ever since...I'm entirely happy watching you make your way through a maze of events to get to the full potential of the Ferrari ...what a great build bro...the fantastic ppl you have around you also is priceless...no doubt you will get there...remember the journey is the best part😊
These episodes are so cinematic. The V/O is so well written and executed. You’re bringing us along as if we’re there with you dude it’s amazing. The emotion that comes through in this is infectious. I’m here for it. You and your team did an amazing job. It’s cool to see your word from a different perspective than we’re used to as well. 10/10. Love it.
What a great video... love that you were abke to have this experience and come to my home track. So bummed i wasnt abke to be there that weekend, i normally Scrutineer for this event, but had financial issues and jist could be there. Seeing you speak so highly of our scrutineering team makes me smile as we work hard to do our job and be some of the best out there. Certainly hope we get to see you guys and the 244 GTK again here in sydney
A true inspiration to building cars! The feeling had to be a cloud 9, 10, or 11 feeling. Just to be in the presence of some of the craziest/coolest race cars, builders, and drivers has to truly be a life achievement moment. I know this will be one moment hard to bet and if this is the high, I would love to see the next challenge or goal for Mike to set his sights on. I would love to be a part of the Stanceworks team.
I know what happens from watching other channels, but it's still a huge gut punch. Regarding the imposter syndrome... TBH in some areas it's warranted, and it's awesome that you are honest with yourself and with us about your capabilities with designing, building, and driving. But those are not the only things that make someone a legend. You have a deep well of personal strength and perseverance that got you through this build, and others before it, to the point of being in that tent with other legends, and that is an inspiration to all of us, to chase our dreams and keep moving forwards. You are young, and you have done a lot, but you are really still at the beginning of your journey, and only starting to build your legacy. Keep your chin up and be proud of what you've done, and how you've done it. You will do it better next time, because that is who you are. And we will all learn from your journey, because you are kind enough to share it with us.
Man i have to be honest, when i saw Keiichi himself show up to see your car it made me emotional, really emotional, i felt so overwhelmed that i don't even imagine how you must have felt yourself, unbelievable, congratulations man, seriously!
It puts into perspective the time and energy a top race team needs. This is a car that has gotten a lot of hype, and they’re 24 hours before the race trying to tune the ECU so the block doesn’t melt. Never mind fine suspension tuning. My dad had it easy when he raced WERA motorcycles. He knew Ed Sorbo, of Lindemann Engineering. Send the forks and shocks. He would ask how much you weighed, and how much the bike weighed. It always turned out just right. All of our bikes, road and race have been worked over by Ed. It doesn’t hurt that we now live 5 minutes from him…
Nothing beats that awesome video of you flat out down the main straight. The K looked and sounded awesome. Best of luck Mike...everyone of your fans worldwide is rooting for you.
Have to say as a long term viewer of both you and rob damn, the similarities are incredible. You two are my top car RUclipsrs my miles. I’m routing for this Ferrari just as much as the 4 rotor, well done truly.
Incredible, Mike! I’ve been onboard since the 308 showed up, and the ride has been amazing. The car is gorgeous, performs like a beast, and, to me, has a Transformer feel, for some reason - do with that what you want. Congrats, man. Reaching this stage by the sweat of your own brow is a stunning achievement - be proud.
Tsuchiya, the Drift King (DK) at your car must have been really cool. I mean he has gotten to see many cars and to choose to spend time with your build means that you have something special. Awesome video man!
It's so beautiful atmosphere between the drivers before the race and in the race it's different story....like Roman worries but in sport mood 💪 good luck on your race 👍🧿🍹

You deserve it man and I trust me everybody there knows you deserve to be there you built that car and you did a great job! I'm super impressed
Literally just watched the first part this morning. Pumped! Also, that car is just so gorgeous. One of thr best looking cars, period.
18:22 Dori Dori!
i’m glad i got to watch this build from the day it started … love seeing this thing do what it was built to do
Your videos, your editing, your team, your car, and you are all awesome brother!
Well done!
4:40 - description of the "Aftercooling" system introduced by Audi in 1980s and present in all 2.7T Allroads since 2000 on stock ECUs
I've been patiently waiting for you videos, and haven't watched any WTAC content to avoid spoilers
10/10. Love it.
Amazing, that thing sounds fantastic. Tsuchiya himself pouring over the car must have felt so surreal!
Love your car and your videos! I was at SMSP last week and its a crazy track
It’s the culmination of all the hard work on the project to see it on the track 😉
What a great moment to see Keiichi Tsuchiya admiring your car!
Truly amazing work and amazing coverage of you and your team's journey. How this channel doesn't have millions of subs... is boggling.
I regret not getting to the track and looking at your incredible Ferrari close up. This is a fantastic story. Well done!
Good call about not driving the Ferronda on Aussie roads. That would definitely have you pulled over and your car likely impounded.
Man i have to be honest, when i saw Keiichi himself show up to see your car it made me emotional, really emotional, i felt so overwhelmed that i don't even imagine how you must have felt yourself, unbelievable, congratulations man, seriously!
Wow!! Chills when seeing the Drift King there! Just amazing to see that
It puts into perspective the time and energy a top race team needs. It doesn’t hurt that we now live 5 minutes from him…
Quality of the video is incredible, the montage, the story telling, wow
When i saw the back of Tsuchiya i instantly got chills. That’s real bucket list stuff right there
You deserve all the attention. The Ferrari is my favourite Build on YT to date
Nothing beats that awesome video of you flat out down the main straight. The K looked and sounded awesome.
Best of luck Mike...everyone of your fans worldwide is rooting for you.
Congratulations! The car looks amazing. Really liked watching the build videos
The comment section here is just 100% positive. Love it.
One of the best looking and off the wall creative builds on YT boys congratulations keep it up.
Man, I felt like I was there with you in Australia, what an experience! Love from India.
Garage built car and experience is why I relate to your content. Keep up the good work.
Been watching since the beginning it's really awesome to see you out there with legends you deserve it man all the blood, sweat and tears paid off!
Soooooo Happy for you Mike = Watched every episode from day 1 - Awesome achievement!!!!
So glad I subscribed so many months ago, at the start of this awesome Ferrari project!
Love this. Followed the whole build. Even if it did damage the box. You still made it to world time attack
Your build is epic and deserves all the kudos it receives, champion
Tsuchiya, the Drift King (DK) at your car must have been really cool. I mean he has gotten to see many cars and to choose to spend time with your build means that you have something special. Awesome video man!
This is f**king top class!! Been following this from near the start and I'm so happy for you.
It's so beautiful atmosphere between the drivers before the race and in the race it's different story....like Roman worries but in sport mood 💪 good luck on your race 👍🧿🍹
I bet Mikes parents are as proud as parents can get. Multiple years of video evidence that their son is a good man with great work ethic and shows appreciation for any and all involved. Which is why it’s reciprocated.
This entire adventure is so incredible; extremely inspiring to build something with a purpose
Amazing ! Reminds me of when I shipped my car to Tsukuba
Hard work pays off! Mega bravo Mike!!! 👏
