I've skied my whole life and I've never actually realized that you can do tricks cuz in my area there aren't many advanced skiers and I just barely discovered that there's tricks you can do so I'm really excited to get some snow this year and try them out.
Been skiing my whole life and I've always just been scared to do tricks or jumps cause I doubted my abilities and was scared but lately I really want to try it looks so fun
Hey Sigurd, Now when you have been skiing for 4-5 years and can do black slopes I think it is time to start hitting some jumps. If you are scared of table top jumps you can start hitting side hits (jumps thats on the side of the slope and you often jump in to the slope again). With these kind of jumps you can jump as big or small as you want with out having to worry about landing on the knuckle(flat area just after a normal kicker). Are you happy with the answer?
+sigurd andersen like stomp it said, if your skiing for that long you should be doing some jumps. if you can make it down a black without crashing id say you are goodenough to jump. its all in confidence. start small and work up. dont get cocky or youll get hurt. "YOLO" doesnt necasarily work for high intensity sports, its all a risk but a calculated risk. take your time but keep practicing. also, you say u only ski 5 days a year, thats only 20 times youve ever skied, which isnt a lot. most of us ski that much every year. try upping your days you ski, repitition is key to successful practice.
I can understand why you think Sigurd should spend more time on the slopes practicing but you have to take into account those who don't live near the mountains. For us 5 days a year may be the most we can ski. for example I only usually ski once a year on holiday for about two weeks..
Absolutely I agree... Not everyone can make it a lot, was just a small thing I wanted to point out. I live very close so I can go every week if I want so I sometimes forget how good I have it.
I just went skiing for the first time .. came from a aggressive inline skating background ..I picked up breaking very fast , gotta get use to turning more there is a difference , I didn’t fall getting off the lift not once I was told that was pretty impressive but I hope to be doing tricks soon . What’s a good website to stay in tuned ?
And how do I pop higher ? I felt like when I tried I popped pretty low it was on flatland at no speed ..I’m guessing it was the heavy rental boots and skis not sure what freestyle skis and boots usually weigh
I do ski racing at home but slope style on holiday, it really annoying because i'm always go in too fast so I end up doing and extra 180 which sometimes messes me up, any tips ?

hey, i've got a question. i ski for around 10 jears now and i am going back on vacation soon. i have bought new freestyle ski's but they have the same size as my lenght. will it be more difficult to ski? (sorry for my bad english,im dutch.)
+xavier smeets 2001 If you are skiing for 10 years it should be almost ok. It's recommended to pick skies 50-100 mm shorter than your hight for the beginner, as they are easier to manage (both on slope and in the air). From the other side, longer skies are more stable on high speed and on landings, also there are a little more chances of not "digging" into snow when off the slope. =)
+xavier smeets 2001 Don't worry about it. Skis the same hight as you are often recommended (Depending on what you ski and your ability level). If you've been skiing for 10 years you'll be fine. I have powder skis that are a couple of inches bigger than me. They're no trouble. It just means they can blast through crud and float better on pow
As someone who has only ever skied on shorter skis, I had this exact same dilemma when I bought my first all mountain skis, went to my local snow centre to try them and they are the best skis I've ever used (skis are taller than me by about 1cm) the extra balance and stability is so worth it, felt easy to turn too

I’m hitting jumps my first two months... lol. My tip is to just send it
Big fax
I’m only successful when I full send
When you fill send you don’t have time to think about it only time to do it, overthinking is killer in any sport full send all day
Yeah I just jump and hope I don’t fall 💀
yeah i guess thats a good way for begginers to get comfy on jumps but i cant do any tricks if i dont pop

Very helpful
Thank you. /Jens
No problem. You deserve the support.

I have the Fischer nightsticks like in the intro
They are fast looking skis aren´t they?
Can you still do ollies and 180s without skis that have rounded tips on the back?
Yes
I can ollie my skis without twin tips it's just harder
Very good tutorial! Where did you filmed it?
+Brutus Pictures™ Thank you! It was filmed in Laax, Switzerland.
What song?
Hi! Is it possible or safety if using konekt bindings (platform) ? Or I should have another bindings? Direct mounting.
I was learning how to do boxes and I broke my wrist during it is there a video I can use for boxes?
stompittutorials.com/tutorials/how-to-box-slide-for-the-first-time/
Did you do a 360 tutorial ?
Yes in my beginner pack on www.stompittutorials.com or this one is more how to get a grab in while doing 360s. ruclips.net/video/xjOfp0abxMc/видео.html
Are boxes supposed to be adhesive? I tried simply sliding straight on a few of them, and it's like hitting glue.
Detune your edges using a metal file!
Also go to a park with good boxes and rail and you can slide them with brand new skis with sharp edges. Have fun! /Jens
Thanks, but I rent my skis, and I doubt they'd be happy about me filing their skis :P
True that! :S

+xavier smeets 2001 your english is fine and i dont know anything about skiing so I cant give you advice.

Why don't you pop on bigger jumps?
Cryptiq if you pop to much it become dangerous to land because instead of landing on the slope after the jump you land on the flat area below it
@@emergencyshotput8147On what jumps should I pop on?
Cryptiq I forgot to put my “not an expert” disclaimer I believe 15+ but I’m really not sure
Intro song?
