Hi. I've donwloaded a 3ds max modeled with vray but it doesnt seem to load any texture. i have to refrence them manually all of them. not just the first one. DO you know why this happens? thanks!
Tranmutr and mindscapes Skimp are about the same program especially if one only needs to import and shrink geometry. The devs of transmutr have said the algorithm in skimp seems to be slightly better but the focus of each programs are different enough that both should be considered and compared before purchasing either one. Both of those programs look to be on sale right now. I believe Transmutr is more focused towards rendering and creating proxy models which is great for programs like enscape and vray. I have used trasmutr in the past in it was good from my experience. A free alternate if one is ok with NOT having a gui front end is called universal importer and that worked well as I recall also(but maybe slow but don't really remember - it's been awhile or maybe my file was super large which is more likely).
I don't think we have ever said that the algorithm is Skimp is better than the one in Transmutr. Quite the opposite actually. There are a few cases where Skimp does a better job at geometry simplification, and cases where Transmutr does a better job than Skimp, but mostly they both do a great job 95% of the time. Transmutr's strength over Skimp is its ability to preserve and convert render-ready materials, as well as exporting to proxies for rendering. Skimp doesn't have any of that.
@@lindale-software To lindale, my comment was based on your dev in your forums in a thread viewable still today: (link not posted this time because my comments are being removed maybe automatically) "His simplification seems to work better, and it’s not the focus of Transmutr. That’s why we think both can be useful in different ways." I think your product is fine but I didn't make up the claim I posted. I got the claim from your end.
@@johnjlopez Oh I see, found it. That forum post was from Dec 2018, before the public release of Transmutr! We have worked quite a bit on the simplification since then, now I wouldn't say the same thing ;) I will add a comment to the forum post to say that it is not relevant anymore.
I've been having a lot of 'luck' with Transmutr....and I've used them ALL. Including plugins that export from 3ds max to SketchUp. If I'm not exporting Vray proxies from Max, Transmutr has been the best option.
Please make a tutorial about the vray & enscape proxy I often endup with a very heavy sofa / bed models but dont know how to set up the model proxy & the material editor it so confusing ( how to change material setting in vray to a proxied model) Thank you!
It's not going to add geometry that fills holes - if there are holes when you start, there will be holes when you finish. You might want to make sure you're not importing the models super small - that can cause mesh issues
Thanks for the reply 🤩 you're like a hero to me. I wish I could have your job, just a decade ago and for flash. I loved that program. Flash gave me my entire software career.
Rhino's quad remesh does this for free with saved textures imported from other softwares with file types of FBX, 3DS, OBJ etc., and has control of preserving geometry data in it's remeshing settings how does this Transmutr Top that.
I don't understand the question - this is an extension for importing external models into SketchUp - are you saying that you'd rather use Rhino to prep models for import into SketchUp? Because that would be significantly more expensive....Or are you just stating that you think another software is better? I'm confused as to what you're going for here...
Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about Transmutr in the comments below! :)

Can that be imported into sketchup's warehouse? I believe that would have to be a skp. file?
Sir can make vedios related Autodesk 3DS max and photoshop
Thank you.
thank you.
I wish sketchUp would not be so sluggish with imported scan models
Even basic LiDAR scans make it struggle
Dude, this video is realy rocks! ;>
Am I the only one who struggled with holes when I import other files? Will this fix that?

Is that a food for rhino Plugin?
