I do agree that jimin needs more promotions but maybe they just need right timing, look at baek ah yeon she wasn't really big back then now shes one of the popular soloist.
it's becuz 하이 has 스타성 and 지민 does not. plus 하이 sings like a black woman in her 40s and 지민 sings like a white girl who does a good impression singing like a black woman (ie. christina aquilera). And there are a bunch of girls that can already do that in Korea, but only a handful of girls that do what 하이 does. 이하이 was born with an unfair advantage (her voice). I don't care if she won this season, 지민 can't even hope to compete and the real world results show (money in the bank).

park jimin's voice is so flawless, her singing is perfect. but lee hi's voice is interesting enough to make me want to listen to a whole album of just her. that's what makes her a successful solo singer.
jimin's high notes, good and clear melody makes her sound more soothing and flawless than leehi, but I also think that Lee hi has this naturally unique husky voice. I can't compare the two singers cause they obviously have diff styles in singing, but I prefer Hayi's style. Its imperfect yet its makes you recognize that its her singing. I also like that fact that when she sings, it feels like she's delivering the song to a diff emotional level (so connected to the song) even if her stage presence is not top notch.
Yhasss i was devastated when she lost .. I believe she has better riffs and runs and also more control .. Jimin was good too but a little shaky and pitchy sometimes ..both great overall

It really is hard to see what you're saying. I guess it is totally subjective. But, trying to be as objective as possible, I can't see any criteria that would apply to indicate that she is a "much better performer."
i mean it in the inflection in her voice and the way she moves around the stage. she just seems more at home on the stage and it shines through. it's just the personality and feeling that she puts into her performances. this could totally be my bias towards jimin shining through, but i do truly believe (as objectively as i can) that she is a better performer

(There's nothing wrong with that. (I actually like both Lee Hi and Ji Min. While I have to admit that I have a Lee Hi bias, I like them both enough that I can understand both biases. Some people prefer the higher and clearer toned voice of Ji Min and her more animated facial expressions. Some people prefer the deeper, richer, more resonant tones of Lee Hi and how she so dramatically phrases and accents particular parts of the lyrics to vocally draw out the meaning. Lee Hi has the most unique voice. You know instantly that it's her when you hear it. Talent and uniqueness combine with her spunky personality is why she's so popular.
I love Lee Hi and 15&... But even though Park Jimin won, I love Lee Hi much more, and I think she's more recognized in korea... she went to the top in every comeback, everyone loves her. I think the problem is the management... I mean, they both have great songs... but everyone that went to YG has their own mark (I'm talking about AKMU right now, too) and that's why they get high on tops... Lee Hi has an unique voice, AKMU have their playful songs, and 15& songs are really cool, but I don't think they stand out as much as the other 2. But Lee Hi has excellent control throughout and sings lower notes because her voice is lower. (In fact there are very few female singers whose range can cover the low-middle registers as powerfully as Lee Hi does.) Additionally, Lee Hi uses vocal phrasings that are closer to a conversational style, while hitting all of the notes in the melody--which is itself a very desirable approach for conveying emotion vocally and drawing people into the song. It takes tremendous control to do that and her voice is very well suited to it. Taking that into account, you can't really say that one has "better control" than the other.
I know that she has a lot of point reaching low notes like that... But still, I think Jimin has more control... It's just opinions though, I'm not being biased, that way, I'd be protecting Lee Hi xD

KFChic I seriously don't think it's "better control" that you're hearing. What you are hearing are differences in tonality. It's the difference between a naturally husky voice (Lee Hi) and a bell-tone voice (Ji Min). You can hear such differences even when they are speaking. Even if they used the exact same singing technique, you would still hear the difference because it's a fundamental manifestation of the physiological differences in their vocal chords. Bell -toned voices are loved for their smoothness and clarity, while husky voices are loved for the earthy, raw, slightly rough edged feeling that they give. Saying that Jimin has "better control" is like saying that a smooth chocolate coated vanilla ice cream bar has better control than a nut-crunch coated fudgesicle because the smooth chocolate coated vanilla ice cream bar is smoother and has no rough edges.
15& Park Jimin! Love that quirky little thing! Love her personality and of course her voice. Slowly 15&'s making their way showing what theyve got. Glad that love is madness is doing good in the charts remaining in the top 10 this past 3 weeks :D I hope everyone will know how good of a singer Yerin and Jimin is :)
i think jimins voice was good and i loved it when she could hit the high notes but her voice is too breathless and lee hi's voice was powerful and strong i felt like she could do alot of other different styles

She's gotten better and deserves the success and acclaim she is receiving. I hope Park Ji Min will also get recognition for her amazing vocals and dominate the charts. She's just so incredible.
Lee Hi is definitely a solo act because her voice is super unique, I can't see her in a girl group. Park Ji Min however is better suited as a main vocalist in a girl group, her voice is suited for kpop songs.

+kakichoco no, SATB (and baritones and mezzos) are also used in solo singers. Think about Amy Winehouse, you won't call her a mezzo or soprano as she is definitely an alto, but you also won't call her a choir person will you?
I just got into Park Jimin and Lee Hayi this year..They are great~I like they hanging out with their friends as well. Like Jimin with Mola and Got7 Straykids people, Lee Hi with iKON and other YG artists.
jyp's facial expressions tho, never fail to distract me. lee hi, jimin jjang. tho i love lee hi more cause i'm biased, jimin is great too. they have different voice qualities but FOR ME lee hi is love woot
Both have unique qualities as singers that in comparison would make one better than the other however, Lee Hai is much better as a complete artist. She is gorgeous, great and unique voice, very sensual and almost shy in contradiction, passionate and seems to have a sexy sense of humor as well...! I was a fan from day 1...!

Yep. They're both really good, but also different from each other. That's why it's a great duet. If they had identical voices and styles, it wouldn't be an interesting duet. It was a good balance of equally talented singers.
They sounds are good. But I like jimin. Because her voice recognition is higher. And skill control is very good. The most important thing is that she has feelings, Let me into the song inside.
Her voice is EXCELLENT and dynamic, By characterizing her voice as merely "good" and "basic", you demonstrate laughable bias. Remember, the judges consistently rated her higher than the other singers over the course of the competition. Like minded people like myself are able to see her talent.
Lee Hi makes you feel like she's having a conversation with you. If you listen carefully, she makes perfectly timed inflections in each word/phrase that she sings so that you're not just passively listening to a person singing on a stage. You feel like she's talking to you & drawing you into a conversation. Putting a little rise at the end of a word that makes it sound like a question, letting a strong note suddenly go soft, so it sounds like a thoughtful pause.... Vocal artistry by Lee Hi.
k she was amazing back then, but somehow she lacked stage presence and her vocal sometimes were unstable... but now bam, gotta say she improved miles and i'm impressed. here's hoping yg gave her proper solo comeback this year.
Lee Hi always spends a lot of time thinking about the meaning of the song and she's extremely good at communicating that meaning and emotion to listeners.
i love the contrast between these two girls, especially the sound they make in the beginning of the song. park jimin has a voice as smooth as butter, while lee hai has that soulfully raspy voice that reminds me of british singer joss stone.
It's sad that these two didn't ultimately reach the maximum potential with the companies they signed. JYP didn't promote Jimin Park/ Jamie and Lee Hi wasn't promoted in YG. Both left those left those labels.

Jimin sings way better but i prefer Lee H's voice bec her voice is really distinct, it has its own flavour. plus her voice is husky, and i like husky voice. :) Meanwhile, Jimin's voice is amazing, but i feel like there are some singers out there who sound like her. But i still like her still

+kakichoco no, SATB (and baritones and mezzos) are also used in solo singers. Think about Amy Winehouse, you won't call her a mezzo or soprano as she is definitely an alto, but you also won't call her a choir person will you?

I just got into Park Jimin and Lee Hayi this year..They are great~I like they hanging out with their friends as well. Like Jimin with Mola and Got7 Straykids people, Lee Hi with iKON and other YG artists.
jyp's facial expressions tho, never fail to distract me. lee hi, jimin jjang. tho i love lee hi more cause i'm biased, jimin is great too. they have different voice qualities but FOR ME lee hi is love woot

Both have unique qualities as singers that in comparison would make one better than the other however, Lee Hai is much better as a complete artist. She is gorgeous, great and unique voice, very sensual and almost shy in contradiction, passionate and seems to have a sexy sense of humor as well...! I was a fan from day 1...!

Yep. They're both really good, but also different from each other. That's why it's a great duet. If they had identical voices and styles, it wouldn't be an interesting duet. It was a good balance of equally talented singers.

Her voice is EXCELLENT and dynamic, By characterizing her voice as merely "good" and "basic", you demonstrate laughable bias. Remember, the judges consistently rated her higher than the other singers over the course of the competition. Like minded people like myself are able to see her talent.

Lee Hi makes you feel like she's having a conversation with you. If you listen carefully, she makes perfectly timed inflections in each word/phrase that she sings so that you're not just passively listening to a person singing on a stage. You feel like she's talking to you & drawing you into a conversation. Putting a little rise at the end of a word that makes it sound like a question, letting a strong note suddenly go soft, so it sounds like a thoughtful pause.... Vocal artistry by Lee Hi.
