I like how bold he is about his feelings, most anime romance’s are EXTREMELY VANILLA and always hold back their feelings. At least this anime lets their feelings unfold each episode.

Maybe it's just my fantasies bursting out of my system speaking here, but... I think... maybe, Mahiru's the kind of girl that would cherish/spoil her beloved person to much to the point that he become so rotten that he will not be able to live his life without her, and if by some miracle... by sheer dumb luck he was able to escape, then at that point Mahiru will become... well, maybe... a Yandere... and would not let him go... I don't know... this theory seems plausible given Mahiru's background and they way she handled her confession. Scary stuff.
It was a mutual thing. The truth is that Mahiru, as she said many times, did have her own motives. Initially she was lonley and also had budding curiosity towards him. She did the cooking/meals thing because she wanted his companionship as a friend. That grew quickly into romantic feelings as they made a real connection and she actually realizes this quite early in the series. At that point she sends subtile and intentional sigals to him, though she sometimes sabatoged her progress with mixed messages if she got embarassed or worried that Amane didn't have mutual feelings. Towards the last 2/3 of the series she knows for sure he has feelings for her and begins to become more aggressive and obvious. Amane continues to be intentially dense and this frustrates her. At the end of the series she becomes blatently obvious and declares her intensions publicly just throwing down the gauntlet to see if he rises to the challenge which he finally does. What is beautiful about this Anime is that while it does seem like the traiditional fantasy, its more real then it appears. Mahiru has real character and motives in this anime and has to go through her own conflicts. It's not like lots of anime where the female interest just suddenly has unconditional love and aggressivly persue's the unlikely wall flower. They are both complex characters that find love through a lot of messy stumbling.
Facts I agree With You with your Theory And If Amane were to Mange to Escape How Would Mahiru react to What Amane just Did if Your Theory is Proven Correct and your right about it Being Plausible👍
@justinlimnardy9407 I can't really offer much advice regarding getting a date, since I've been single my whole life. What I can say is not to place the full value of life in getting a date. If you do want to get with someone, get with them because you genuinely love and care about them, not because of fear of loneliness. Besides that I'd advise finding a few hobbies e.g. reading, playing an instrument, learning a language etc. Hope this helps.
