Thanks for the video! The stupidity of the Instagram is beyond any imagination. Why can't it be enabled by default? All the rest of the messengers like Telegram have it enabled by default.
This must only be an iPhone feature cause my app has updated many times and I don't get the "update messaging" option and I still can't reply to specific messages. My only options are: Report Copy text Like And I don't even have the option for different reactions either. It's just the heart all the time EDIT: FINALLY GOT AN UPDATE 7 MONTHS LATER!

another way to fix if if u are not seeing the “update Massage” option is to to 1. go into one of your messages with anyone 2. Slide up on the screen till u see vanish mode 3. Then click on it and it will allow u to update messages.

The device is not the issue here. The main issue here is the account. I tried this with my other account on a same device I use for my main account and it's works, but with my main account it doesn't works, Same device 😕
JUNE 2023 iOS FIX: Go to your messages -> select one of the messages -> tap on your friend’s name (not profile picture) -> tap Privacy and Settings -> Turn on “use End-to-End encryption” -> this new chat is now able to reply to their message individually or reply to yours.
I met this issue when i had the newest version, I couldn't even find the update option, but cleaned the application cache and reopened solved it, in Android 11.
I have no idea why but when I re download the app it didn't give me the feature but after a while of the app just running in the backgroun it fixed itself and now I have it
I couldn't get this to work. In the end I had to go to my device settins, Apps, Instagram, Force Stop. Then reopen the app, go to my profile an the Update Messaging option appeared.
@@havee_ on my phone, just from the home screen, pull down from the top and get to the wheel (the settings). Then scroll down to Apps. Find Instagram and hit the button 'Force Stop'. Its the same place you go when an app us buggy or wont update properly and might clear cache. Then close it all and Open Instagram. The rest is as in the video.
@@havee_ Sorry, I only use android devices. If you can find how to get to your apps Im sure you'll find what uou need. Maybe google Apple Force Stop Apps or something

I don’t have any option for updates in either the App Store or the app, I tap and hold on messages and nothing happens
