My List of 15 best universities in Europe based on best word's rankings. The best university in Europe. As an international student from Asia, I have known much about European countries. And for me, the top 10 comprehensive universities in Europe Continent is:
1. University of Copenhagen, Denmark/2. LMU, Germany/3. Sorbonne University, France/ 4. KU Leuven, Belgium/5. Utrecht University, the Netherlands/6. University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands/7. University of Zurich, Switzerland/8. University of Heidelberg/9. University of Oslo, Norway/10. Uppsala University, Sweden
And the top 10 technical universities:
1. ETH Zurich, Switzerland /2. EPFL, Switzerland/3. X, France/4. TUMunich, Germany/5. TUDelft, the Netherlands/6. Denmark TU, Denmark/7. POLIMI, Italy/8. KTH, Sweden/9. RWTH, Germany/10. Aalto University. Finland
BTW, some Universities like Ghent U/ Lund U/ Aarhus U/ Bologna U/ KIT/TUe etc. are also good, and may also get the top 10 in some people’s views.

La Sorbonne is actually the University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne.
Is Cambridge representing the UK or England? If it's only England, then the University of Edinburgh should be on this list.

This ranking is incorrect. For an instance, Oxford University, LMU Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin, London School of Economics and Political Science have not been ranked
1. This list ranks only the best university in each country, that’s why there is only one university per country. (LMU vs TUM is really debatable, it could go either way, same goes for Oxford and Cambridge)

According to "Academic Ranking of World Universities" There is no Moscow among top 15 univ. from Europe. According to "timeshighereducation . co . uk" it isn't even among first 200 best universities from Europe.
Hi Thanks for your comment! This Rank shows only the list of best universities in a particular country! You are right that University of Moscow took 120th place...but in Russia is number one. I hope this help to understand this rank.

+Rashid Teshaev In Germany every public universkty is almost tuition free. There are some fees of about 400 Euros per year but that is for public transport tickets and such things.

It doesn't make much sense to rate universities it would make more sense to rate faculties of one subject of different unis.
Maybe Charles University in Prague & Moscow State University are better
It's a good thing for Europe that each country was allowed only one university, otherwise the list would've been mostly British. If the list were global and allowed more than one per country, the list would've been American universities and a few British.

We are not talking about LMU, it is not a good university of engineering.
+Radhouane Baba exactly, Not all universities have the same courses. So you cannot judge TUM by the fact that it doesn't offer the program you want. Just go to the main universities ranking. Topuniversities is the most famous, and it ranks TUM as the best and RTWH as the 8th best. I do believe that the RWTH is the best for you, just not that it is the best in general.

It's one university per country. Since Cambridge is better than Oxford, Edinburgh and London, this is shown. The Free University of berlin isn't that great, there are way better one's in Germany.

+ULF nitzschii Harvard isn't in Europe, and Cambridge usually ranks higher than Oxford. As to TUM, it does usually have better scores and is definitely a more successful university in terms of innovation and stuff than LMU.
LOL where is TUDelft and KTH?
These two are overrated. Actually TUD ranks 3rd or 4th in the Netherlands, (behind UvA, Utrecht U, Leiden U and Wageningen U), while KTH ranks 4th or 5th in Sweden, and TOP 3 is definitely Lund University, Uppsala U and KI, maybe SSE and CTH is no worse than KTH as well.
@@leejinze7757 lol I study at TU Delft. It is in top 5 technical universities across europe. And u can go see its reputation among companies across the world. Infact, I do aerospace engg here and its was ranked 4th in whole world some yrs back
Yasir Khan Yeah I know TUD is top ranked Technical University, and I have also studied in Denmark TU, so I know these schools. But when it comes to ranking, you know, the comprehensive and academic universities get usually better results. According to the ARWU which emphasizes on academic reputation and scientific research, the TUs rank between 100-200, including DTU, TUD, KTH, Ecole Polytech, RWTH, and others like TU/e, CTH, Aalto, KIT, Twente even get much worse results at over 300. Guess what, University of Copenhagen get the first place, followed by Sorbonne University, University of Oslo, KU leuven and Utrecht University etc. So technical Universities always have drawbacks in rankings, though I know your major in TUD is extraordinarily prestigious even all over the world.
