Hi mate, just want to say you can use the two holes directly underneath the spotlight in the bottom of the bumper to access a bolt retaining the spotlight in place. Use one hole to look through to see where you going and the other hole you insert your socket on extension bar and undo the spotlight retaining Bolt. The spotlight will pop out forward and you will be able to change the bulb very easily. This is the same on both sides. Hope you find this helpful.

@@Lee.S..B Yes it is possible did it on mine. There is two circles. What I did Is made the circles into one bigger hole . So I can see and access the nut. Do need along wrench extension but it is so much easier. The front fog just pops off from the front 👍
Big thanks for the vid Lew - Saved my ass today. Car failed MOT on windscreen washer jets - From watching this vid in the car park I was able to strip the arch down and get access to the washer bottle to clean the filter. Put it all back together and the car passed. Nice one fella!

Hi mate, just got myself the same headlights from amazon. Just wandering how you connected up the wiring? I do have pics I can send you to look at but from I could feel I've got the positive and negative wires in a braid? I also noticed there some kind of bracket that you need a star/torque driver to undo the screws slightly to take it off?
Any advice or a step by step thing on the wiring part would be big help 🙏
Hi Lew, loving the content, I’ve just got an fn2 and was going to upgrade the bulbs to the nighteye ones, is urs a 2007 plate fn2 or older as I asked someone and they bought the nighteye and said it’s an m7 bulb
Hi mate, thanks very much! Yes it is a 07 plate so it's none HID bulbs just standard. So I think it's H7 not M7 but there's no harm in googling it 👍🏻

Keep the original bulb's as you will have to change them back to pass the most. Failure due to dazzle oncoming traffic as lenses aren't designed for those bulb's. Not worth the time and money changing, but you live and learn.
I've kept the original for this purpose. What do you suggest for a 'non dazzling' white light?
Hi did you put the headlight dust covers back on, as the fans on the night eye need to vent the heat out.
With them on the heat will just build up inside the headlight.
I'm thinking of making a small hole in the dust cover so it can vent out into the engine bay.
That's a good point. The only thing I'd be worried about is corrosion happening on the inside of the light.

Great vids thankyou my friend! Did you compare pros and cons of LED v HID? Seems that one important thing is the 'beam' - not just the brightness. LED are bright but you get more 'spread' in the beam - so needs a projector ideally. Whereas the HID Xenon is meant to give better beam. Picked up a HID Xenon kit to fit to my Type S, so will see how that goes and let you know! Cheers
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try hids. But I now have a better brand led that has a better beam pattern luckily so I won't blind other drivers.
What was the better brand?
I was fitting new bulbs on the passenger side. Dropped a H7 and hours of looking later, me and my dad can't find it. Not in the tray underneath, can't hear any movement when shaking the bumper, have taken battery out and dug right in under the headlights and got a rod down under the radiator. Nothing.
Honestly started to think I was losing my mind and didn't drop a bulb at all. Take care when putting the passenger side bulb in folks, it's a very tight fit for hands to fit in there.
What size / type of clips for the bumper do you use? I want to purchase some of ebay for the bumper. There's a few missing I know u mentioned theres a different sizes
Yes mate if you just put honda trim clips in ebay, plenty come up. Some are long and some are short. I'd just get a pack of both.
Bro where did you get the tow cover hook. They look cool. I lost my tow cover and looking for something to fill that palce
If it's the tow ring you're talking about mate I got it off eBay and resprayed it.
the only bad point on 8th civics is that it is really complicated to change lights... but I love my car and would like to change the lights to leds too

Did mine and had to take them out as was blinding other drivers there soo bright. Then found out they are illegal unless they go though a reflector which is light a glass globe looking light . Bit of a shame as look really good until your driving towards me 🤣
Yes I'll be trying to sort this issue soon. Not having a projector lense is definitely a disadvantage.

It depends on the quality of the beam pattern. These ones can be quite dazzling so maybe swap them out

I'd actually go for the auxbeam bulbs instead. Loads less dazzling than these. I did a video on them too. If you can find it there may be a link in the description 👍🏻

There is I dial on the right of your steering wheel that changes the angle but unfortunately these bulbs are very bright.

They are night eye headlight bulbs mate. Probably won't pass to be fair as there's not a good beam pattern unfortunately. I don't actually run these anymore. I use a company called auxbeam

Allo allo, there are some better H7 leds out there that better replicate the oem halogen bulbs, some of the multi side leds such as the ones I see you have, are not good as the reflect the light all over the place, I recommend you find leds that replicate your oem H7 then see what the results are they maybe better, give it a go, I brought some leds for my vehicle but I made sure they were replicating the filaments on my H4 bulbs. Good vids mate, subbing.

I have a question will the fn2 outer back side lights fit mk8 type s 2008 model?
They would but I think the light internals are a different colour
@@FNLEW you mean it’s white that’s what I want change the orange to white not sure if I will need new bulbs and not sure about the fog light because 2008 mk8 already has a fog light in the right hand side centre cluster where is the fn2 fog light in the outer light?

They do look 100% better. A word of warning on LED headlights though, if you live in rural areas and actually need to see the road ahead at any sort of decent rate whilst making progress,LEDs are no use as the pattern is dog shit. I had to swap mine back to dingy yellows. I’m guessing not many people get to do 130mph+ on B roads legally every day to be fair.... but worth noting....

Why don't you get h11 night eye led bulbs? I have on mine and super easy to fit, mine came out with rubber Seal and new ones had it on too and was an easy fit?!! Very bright aswell.
I've fitted them with someone else on a friend's FN in a previous video and I do agree they're great. I just really wanted ones I can turn red at will.

Brilliant video mate ave got a Honda type S just to ask when you installed those lights did it pass it MOT seems to be a lot trolls think they know it all only asking cause ave just put some in mine but slightly concerned about the beam pattern being out that’s all
I think red on the front is illegal.Also some else on youtube fitted similar led bulbs in their headlight and one of the fans stopped working and the bulb got really hot and melted some of the headlight.Something to keep an eye on.
Fogs arn't mandatory and can be set to white for daily use if I really need them. I will keep an eye on the headlights though cheers.

Be careful when using cheap LED bulbs, I bought some LED front sidelight bulbs for mine, however when I came to change them over due to one of them going, the plastic base of the LED had got too hot and warped, making it impossible to remove the actual bulb from the headlight unit as it would not fit back through the hole. They are currently trapped inside my headlight cluster. Trying to figure out how to get them out

Hi Lew, that was a good decision 1:52 not to replace high beams with LED. I have just tried to do this (NightEye H1 LED) and they dont fit! The rectangular section on the main shaft of the LED is way thicker then the standard H1 halogen bulb, and it wont go into the housing of the headlight. Its too fiddly to rework the housing in the car so would have to remove whole headlight unit and modify fitting or get a replacement if anyone makes one. (2007 Mk8 Type-S)
Hi mate, I've actually replaced both dipped and high beam with some auxbeam leds and they all fit and work work a treat 👍🏻.
@@FNLEW Yea someone else on here fitted the Novsight H1 (same make as Nighteye) and had no problem either. The square bit sizes must vary even from same manufacturer, which is really annoying as H1 should mean H1! Standard universal size. But then we are dealing with China! :)

P23 NAD I was the same with normal bulbs and the lights had been set at a mot centre. Are your lights clean and clear.
