I love this technique. I have used tissue paper in my acrylic paintings on canvas, but never thought of using it on paper with watercolor. I definitely will try it. Thank you for sharing.
Warm Greetings Linda…Im so glad to have stumbled across your most inspiring channel…I did this technique over 20 years ago on my living room walls. Tissue paper embedded in the wet base color paint…then I mixed fall leaf colors with glaze and hand rubbed each color to mix them over the whole surface. As it is a very large room, the process was not over night😂 Afterwards I suffered excruciating pain from a frozen shoulder for about 8 months till I could use my rubbing are normally… Now You have inspired me to take this process to even more beautiful depths on a smaller canvas…I can’t wait to play with this technique again…I wish I could show you a picture of my walls….they do give the feeling of being surrounded by the fall wood’s while being indoors. Your creations are just lovely and so very i spiring….thank you for sharing your gifts with us! 🐝💜🧚♂️ Ayla from West Virginia
Hi Ayla your walls sound wonderful! I would love to see them my email is i.recycle@yahoo.com I certainly can imagine how sore your shoulder was after that huge effort! Thanks for the comments x
Ayla, that sounds absolutely amazing and beautiful. I, too, wish I could see a picture of it. What an accomplishment! I used to paint murals, and while I never injured myself, it was very hard work, and made me sore on many occasions. Best wishes!
I'm only just learning to paint but I've scoured RUclips for texture techniques and inspiration. What you've shown here is amongst the most beautiful and inspiring I've seen. Thank you so much, Linda.
Yes, I am so glad to see your video. I use freezer papers for creating textured papers I tear up for collage. Your technique is interesting and quite a bit can be created from it.
I want to thank you so much for putting this up. I love it. I used to paint an acrylic spent 20 years. I’m now 74 years old. I’m trying to learn how to do watercolors you are such an inspiration. Please don’t take this down. I’ve been working on it for three months and haven’t put a drop of pain on it yet. I’ve watched your video at least 25 times and probably will do 25 more before I get the guts to try it, thank you again
Wow I am so fascinated by the colors and organic nature of this style of painting! I will surely share your channel with my friends! Thanks you so much for the amazing videos! I can't wait to look at more of your charming work!!!!👍👍👍🇺🇲
Oh wow thank you Marion, my inspiration came from my visit home , Lancaster, UK in 2018. I revisited all my favourite childhood places, forests, river Lune, canals etc I saw a raven fly by, silhouetted by the light, it was magical, and stays with me in my memory...
Thank you for sharing your ideas...I love painting. Have not done it in awhile and use alot of texture. And layers of different materials. This is wonderful. Thank you so much!
I love your technique of painting on the tissue paper and it turned out fabulous. I could watch and listen to you all day. Very educational and a pleasant experience. Thank you.
Lovely. I painted right along with you, Linda. I used the colours I had and it still turned out pretty good (considering I’ve never painted on tissue paper before). Thank you. X
I didn't think it was possible BUT this is even more magnificent than the piece of art in the first video. All I can say is Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni ... better known as Michelangelo. Truly awesome work.
Thanks Linda, I had great fun with this project. I had most of the supplies already at home. Substituted a few colours and used salt instead of the granulation medium . I usually paint really tight so this was a great exercise to loosen up .
Wow linda this wày of texture painting is awesome artistic work and I ❤ 😍 your work kk from nz new subscriber you got my vote lol see you in next video ..........
These are absolutely mind blowing and amazing! Love this technique. It’s even better than the hot glue technique and probably actually more professional. Can’t wait to try it! Thank you for sharing! I was thinking it might be fun to use a straw to blow some of the paint around. You could use acrylic inks as well. All kinds of things are going through my head now.
I moved from realism to abstract a little while ago - I love landscapes and I've been searching for a way to create them in an abstract way that captured the beauty but without falling into realism again. This video and your generous sharing of this technique has given me the answer. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful technique Linda. Lovely to watch and listen to you & will definitely have a go at creating a forest of my own.
So beautiful! Can't wait to give this a go. Question: how do you remove the painting from the clip board? Do you remove the masking tape? If so, won't it rip the tissue paper on top? Please explain how to remove the painting. Thank you so much!
LOVE the results, I just love trees and abstraction! It’s so hard to keep your fingers in all the mediums and I have not been using watercolour lately, I am inspired to get back into them! Thanks for a fantastic 2 part video, I just need more hours in a day!💕🇨🇦
Thank you so much Linda, I really really enjoyed watching you creating this marvellous painting, and I’ve subscribed and given you a thumb’s up too. Please stay safe and well too
What an absolutely fabulous technique with spectacular results. I'm happy to have discovered your work via Instagram as it is so very special and unique. Just marvelous!

@@amandaromant4207 hi Amanda, that is very unusual. Thank you for reaching out, I hope I can help you discover what went wrong. Firstly I tape my paper all the way around to a wood clip board, a heavy plastic board would also be ok. Arches is very ok for this project but probably a waste of beautiful watercolour paper. I suggest you use something like a middle of the $ range WC paper such as Canson Montval, or a mixed media paper. I generally use the Canson. What type/brand of gesso are you using? I use an artists quality gesso, such as Matisse, or Art Spectrum. Not gesso from a $ type shop. I have also found the Lindcraft home brand gesso to be excellent. The layer of gesso must be applied thickly to allow the creased tissue to enbed in the layer. Gently pat down the tissue. Then apply another layer of gesso over the top of the gesso. This step can be done immediately, but carefully - or you can wait for the first layer to dry and apply at a later time. Let this final layer dry completely before applying watercolours. I don’t think fixative or wax or varnish would be stable enough here, glass with a Matt board would be ideal 👍
